<br />
When we think of a two-wheeled Ferrari, a stretched-out, chopper-style motorcycle isn't what naturally comes to mind. After all, the Italian supercars are known just as much for their ability to tear up the racetrack as the drag strip and choppers aren't exactly renowned for their handling prowess.<br />
<br />
Still, we're all for freedom of expression and at least one enterprising motorcycle builder has decided to tackle the contradiction in terms that is a Ferrari chopper, as you can see with the machine above. There are apparently two such bikes in existence - the first may have been powered by an inline-triple from Triumph while the second uses an inline-four yanked from a Yamaha R1. Both cycles have been on the show circuit, featured all over the internet (including <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/prancing-steel-horse-custom-scuderia-ferrari-chopper/">right here on Autoblog</a>) and in print.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Lorenzo Lamas Cycles - Click above for image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> Lorenzo Lamas, everybody's favorite Bold and Beautiful Renegade from the 1990s, has <a href="http://www.lorenzo-lamas.com/html/lorenzo_lamas_cycles.html">announced a new motorcycle company</a> named, imaginatively enough, Lorenzo Lamas Cycles. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/06/steven-tylers-red-wing-motorcycles-changes-name-to-dirico-custo/">Just as Steven Tyler did</a> when he decided to get into the custom motorcycle scene, Lamas contacted an established builder, in this case Ralph Randolph of Knockout Motorcycles, to actually engineer and assemble the machines.<br /> <br /> So far, LLC has released four motorcycle renderings, two of which - the Reno Rocket and the Badlands Bomber - are slated for a public debut this week at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. All of LLC's machines seem to be based on production frames and will reportedly be equipped with Twin Cam engines from S&amp;S and tires from Avon.<br /> <br /> We're sure the timing of this announcement has nothing at all to do with the new <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2009/07/tca-press-tour-the-lamas-family-wants-to-use-reality-tv-to-heal.html">E! reality series</a> <em>The Lamas Life,</em> where Lorenzo will reportedly make amends with his son A.J. with whom he hasn't spoken in years. In any case, check out our gallery of the four LLC renderings below.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lorenzo-lamas-cycles/low/">Lorenzo Lamas Cycles</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lorenzo-lamas-cycles/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/lorenzo-cycle-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="lorenzo-cycle-1" title="lorenzo-cycle-1" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lorenzo-lamas-cycles/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/lorenzo-cycle-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="lorenzo-cycle-4" title="lorenzo-cycle-4" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lorenzo-lamas-cycles/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/lorenzo-cycle-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="lorenzo-cycle-3" title="lorenzo-cycle-3" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lorenzo-lamas-cycles/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/lorenzo-cycle-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="lorenzo-cycle-2" title="lorenzo-cycle-2" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/LORENZO-LAMAS-CYCLES/111218931312">Lorenzo Lamas Cycles</a> | Image: <a href="http://www.lorenzolamas.info/eng/photogallery.php">lorenzolamas.info</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/04/lamarama-actor-lorenzo-lamas-launches-new-motorcycle-company/">Lamarama: Actor Lorenzo Lamas launches new motorcycle company</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 04 Aug 2009 16:59:00 EST. A handful of carmakers (Honda, Suzuki, Peugeot, BMW, Triumph once upon a time...) also make motorcycles. Ford has their Harley-Davidson edition F-Series pick-up trucks. Some small sports cars use motorcycle engines, and there are some big motorcycles (really big) that use car engines. Fiat sponsors world champion Valentino Rossi's MotoGP Yamaha bike. And, once in a while, we see a custom chopper decked out to look like a particular automobile. We've eyeballed our share of Ferrari-inspired motorbikes, but this is something else entirely: a Bentley chopper.<br /><br />Of course, there's nothing particularly Bentley about this chopper other than the trim, so don't go expecting a 6.75-liter V8 or a twin-turbo W12 sprung between two wheels. But the fit and finish look rather impressive. The greenish-grey paint finish is complemented by a soft tan leather saddle and capped with a "Flying B" emblem on the gas tank. Pretty sweet ride from the look of things, and even if it is a one-off, it's one more link between between motor vehicles with two wheels and those with four.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5305139/bentley-chopper-part-mulliner-part-mullet">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/04/born-to-be-bentley-one-off-crewe-chopper/">Born to be Bentley: One-off Crewe chopper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 04 Jul 2009 10:15:00 EST. If there were any allowable reason to put a trailer hitch on your $180K coupe, this could be one of them. The dandelion yellow Lambo is pulling a custom trailer with matching wheels, and that trailer is holding a Lamborghini-badged (but obviously custom) chopper. And even though we're not a fan of yellow cars... this little combo is pretty sweet. <em>Thanks for the tip, Philippe!</em><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/-lamborghini-gallardo-chopper-trailer-ar57413.html">Top Speed</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/15/would-you-like-a-matching-chopper-and-trailer-with-that-gallardo/">Would you like a matching chopper and trailer with that Gallardo?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 15 May 2008 18:28:00 EST. Car manufacturers like BMW, Mitsubishi, Saab and Rolls Royce all have roots in building airplanes, but the Dodge Viper? Sure, Carroll Shelby, on whose Cobra the Viper was modeled, used to be a fighter pilot, as was Bob Lutz, but that's still a bit of a stretch. Aerospace retrofitters Northwest Helicopters took a shot at bridging (or at least flying over) the divide with a big ol' Huey painted to match the company owner's Viper SRT/10 coupe.<br /><br />The firm was reportedly fixing up the chop-lifter for a show and was looking for a way to get it noticed. After driving around car lots looking for the most vibrant of tints, they decided to go with Viper Racing Yellow, and painted the helicopter to match, complete with silver stripes.<br /><br />The chopper was apparently a big hit at the show, and the owner is undoubtedly the only one to have matching Huey and Viper. (Sure beats matching luggage.) One big difference between the two, aside from the obvious: take a close look a the picture and you'll notice the M60-D cannon mounted to the side of the helicopter, something you're not likely to see on a Viper (unless, of course, Dodge steps in for Aston Martin in the next Bond film).<br /><br />Thanks for the tip, Dave!<br /><br />[Source: DavidPitlyuk.com]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/13/for-the-man-who-has-everything-dodge-viper-with-matching-helico/">For the man who has everything: Dodge Viper with matching helicopter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 13 Mar 2007 14:28:00 EST. <p>There are a lot of superlatives that could be equally applied to Ferraris and to custom choppers by their respective enthusiasts, and we're not going to try to name them all. But that's probably why there have been so many efforts to blend the two, with varied results.</p>
<p>One builder of custom choppers built a red stallion for Michael Schumacher upon his retirement. Another motorcycle craftsman built <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/29/motorcycle-headcase-2-guy-stuffs-ferrari-engines-into-two-cust/">two one-off sport-bikes</a>: one powered by a Ferrari V12 and another with a V8 out of a Ferrari 308. Even legendary custom bike designer Arlen Ness styled a chopper after the iconic Testarossa. </p>
<p>The latest crossover between the world of the steel stallion and the prancing horse is this custom chopper, powered by the 140-hp engine from the Triumph 955 Triple. The high-gloss red paintjob even comes complete with race livery, but after watching <em>Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man</em>, we're surprised the builder didn't include the team's principle sponsor. The bike was recently up for sale on eBay for about fifteen grand.</p>

Our man Frank was there and sent in this report.<br /><br />First up was a rare <a href="http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&amp;In_LotNumber=1319">1968 Charger hardtop</a> with a 426 Hemi, automatic transmission and power windows. The car has never been restored and had only one repaint. It's rare, with only 74 ever made, but even rarer is the custom <a href="http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&amp;In_LotNumber=1319.1">OCC bike</a> built to match with identical paint to the car, but with far fewer horses, only (only?) 125 hp from a 124cid V-Twin. But those are covered elsewhere on Autoblog.<br /> <br />Later up for bid was a <a href="http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&amp;In_LotNumber=1320">1960 Corvette FI Convertible</a>. The subject of this post, it's a numbers matching, original drivetrain, restored over three years with only NOS parts example. A gorgeous Vette sold with an equally gorgeous <a href="http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&amp;In_LotNumber=1320.1">OCC Old School</a> two-wheeler. Its custom paint matches the Vette, of course, and so do its classic lines. The pair went to one lucky bidder for a quite reasonable $160,000.<br /><br />[Source: Frank Filipponio via Barrett-Jackson]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/">2007 Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale: Corvette and OC Chopper</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/corvette-and-oc-chopper---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/corvette-and-oc-chopper---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/corvette-and-oc-chopper---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/corvette-and-oc-chopper---4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/01/corvette-and-oc-chopper---5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/22/2007-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-corvette-and-oc-chopper/">2007 Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale: Corvette and OC Chopper Sold at $160,000</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 22 Jan 2007 07:24:00 EST.
