<br />It made its debut over the summer at Pebble Beach. It showed up again in November at SEMA. And finally, we have a set of our own live shots of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/19/vw-shows-off-cc-gold-coast-in-monterey/">CC Gold Coast concept </a>because Volkswagen sent the swanky 4-door to Chi-town. <br /><br />The Gold Coast is doused in a rich-looking brown finish dubbed "Pepe Pepper" by DuPont, and it adopts a squat, muscular stance riding on a set of KW coilovers. 19-inch wheels fill out the wells nicely, and a full ground effects kit brings the look even closer to the ground. Veedub's 280-horsepower 3.6 FSI V6 sits underhood, mated to a six-speed DSG. Stopping power on this looker is further enhanced with a set of the Audi R8's ceramic discs in front. <br /><br />While the CC Gold Coast is technically a concept, VW's making sure it gets in front of as many eyes as possible. Hence, we wouldn't be surprised to see the "concept" moniker eventually turn into "special edition" - minus those supercar stoppers.<br /> <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/">Chicago 2009: Volkswagen CC Gold Coast</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-volkswagen-cc-gold-coast/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/vwccgoldcoast---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos copyright Frank Filipponio/ Weblogs, Inc. </small></strong></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/13/chicago-2009-volkswagen-passat-cc-gold-coast-concept/">Chicago 2009: Volkswagen CC Gold Coast concept</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 13 Feb 2009 10:27:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a gallery of K9s at the Chicago Auto Show</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />For the second year in a row, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ChicagoAutoShow/">Chicago Auto Show</a> has been invaded by our furry, four-legged friends as the Bark Buckle UP campaign announces its Pet Safe Choice Awards. We moseyed on down to the show floor to spend some quality time with the dozen or so K9s in attendance after they'd graduated from the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. program. More to the point, here are the winners of the Pet Safe Awards: <br />
<ul>
    <li>Pet Safe Vehicle of Choice: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gmc+Acadia/">GMC Acadia</a></li>
    <li>Pet Safe Hotel of Choice: Hilton Hotels and Resorts</li>
    <li>Pet Safe Airline of Choice: American Airlines</li>
    <li>Pet Safe Retailer of Choice: PetSmart</li>
</ul>
We were a bit shocked when the group informed us that 98% of all dogs that travel in vehicles do so unrestrained. This could be a major safety hazard, especially since pet travel has reportedly increased by 300% since 2005 and a 60-pound dog can turn into a 2,700 pound projectile in a 30 mph accident. Needless to say, that's unsafe for both pets and their owners. In other words... better buckle up.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/">Chicago 2009: Bark Buckle UP dogs</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/chicago_dogs_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/chicago_dogs_13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/chicago_dogs_18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/chicago_dogs_08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-bark-buckle-up-dogs/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/chicago_dogs_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Live photos copyright (C)2009 Jeremy Korzeniewski</small></strong><small><a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/"><strong></strong></a><strong> / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></small></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/12/chicago-2009-this-show-is-for-the-dogs/">Chicago 2009: This show is for the dogs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 12 Feb 2009 17:01:00 EST. According to Krafcik, for decades, extravagance has been the name of the game in the car biz - just as it has been in most of corporate America. In the past six months, however, things have started to change, with automakers cutting back on the overblown productions at auto show press conferences and in many cases eliminated such conferences altogether. But Krafcik doesn't think the swing has gone far enough.<br /><br />That's just one small part of the problem, though. Krafcik acknowledged that the industry as a whole is seen as slow and unresponsive as well as wasteful. He called on voluntary limits to executive compensation that are tied to some multiple of what the average worker gets paid. "What if our industry was the first to exercise a more inclusive form of capitalism that voluntarily restrained executive compensation to a reasonable multiple of average employee salary? And what if our industry adopted a uniform code of conduct regarding gifts, meals and business entertainment?" <br /><br />Krakcik wants his industry to be more modest and humble. Instead of fighting everything that needs to be done, he believes the auto industry must take the lead in re-shaping corporate America. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/article/20090211/ANA02/902119976/1078">Automotive News</a> - sub. req'd]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/12/chicago-2009-hyundai-ceo-krafcik-calls-on-auto-industry-to-set/">Chicago 2009: Hyundai CEO Krafcik calls on auto industry to set example with reform</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 12 Feb 2009 10:59:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of 20 years of the Mazda Miata/MX-5</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Twenty years ago, Mazda took the wraps off the first generation Miata/MX-5 in Chicago. Over the next two decades the lightweight roadster solidified its place in the enthusiast hierarchy and evolved with larger engines, more gears and extra amenities. Amazingly, it never lost its edge.<br /><br />Mazda wanted to commemorate the Miata's milestone at this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ChicagoAutoShow/">Chicago Auto Show</a>, but rather than trot out a 20th Anniversary Edition with a few badges and a custom color, Mazda dusted off a handful of concepts, one-offs and notable MX-5s that defined the roadster and help create the Cult of Miata that a few Autoblog staffers continue to worship at to this day.<br /><br />Check the gallery below for some of our favorite models, including a hardtop coupe concept that resulted in a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/1350106/">JDM-only fixed-roof Miata</a> and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/1350091/">Mono-Posto Roadster</a> that had us seriously contemplating a late-night attack on our NA with a sawzall and some bondo.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/">Chicago 2009: Twenty Years of the Mazda Miata</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/20yearsofmiata_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/20yearsofmiata_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/20yearsofmiata_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/20yearsofmiata_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-twenty-years-of-the-mazda-miata/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/20yearsofmiata_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 </small></strong><small><a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/"><strong><small>Drew Phillips</small></strong></a><strong> / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></small></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-20-years-of-the-mazda-miata-mx-5/">Chicago 2009: 20 years of the Mazda Miata/MX-5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 20:02:00 EST. <br />Being that the biggest reveal of this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> has been the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/officially-official-2010-ford-taurus-sho/">2010 Ford Taurus SHO</a>, we thought you might enjoy some video of it actually moving rather than just posing all pretty on a show stand. We found some B-roll footage of the new SHO being driven sans a soundtrack, but we also went one further and got the actual video that Ford played during the car's debut today. Both can be watched <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/video-2010-ford-taurus-sho-reveal-video-revealed/">after the jump</a>, and the reveal video also includes guest appearances by some true SHO enthusiasts. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of the 2010 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Flush from the news that its F-150 pickup performed markedly better than <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/3-big-trucks-crash-hard-in-iihs-tests/">many of its primary competitors</a> in a new series of IIHS side-impact crash tests, Ford has rolled out its latest larger-than-life <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2009-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition-returns-for-rou/">Harley-Davidson</a> model.<br /><br />Outside of the appearance items, the HD is essentially a Platinum Edition F-Series in motorcycle leathers, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Available in either Lava (dark maroon) or Tuxedo Black, the Harley looks very aggressive in the metal - and the effect is not just a function of scale. The bold six-bar grille and 22-inch Harley-branded polished/painted alloys clearly set it apart as a distinct model from other F-Series pickups, and Ford has also slathered the pickup in oversized emblems and strange red "swoosh" marks on the rocker panels. While we could do without the latter flourishes, the truck still strikes us as particularly good-looking in Lava.<br /><br />Ford's 14th Harley-branded product also has a seriously dolled-up interior that is likewise not for introverts. The prevailing theme behind the cabin's styling is that of a Harley biker jacket, and the materials, color choices, and the gigantic badges on the seats and center console (including a serialized plate) are unsubtle but appropriate. <br /><br />Clearly not a truck for wallflowers, Ford continues to carve out niche after niche for its new 2010 F-150. <div align="center"><strong><em><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of the 2010 Acura TSX V6</small></em></strong><br /></div>
<br />Acura fans have something to rejoice about today as the Japanese automaker just released a new model here at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chicago-auto-show/">Chicago Auto Show</a>. Before you get too excited, know that it's not rear-wheel-drive or powered by a V8 engine, but it's still a nice addition to the line-up. For the 2010 model year, the front-wheel-drive TSX sedan will be available with a 280-horsepower 3.5L V6 engine (most likely a version of the same engine offered in the Honda Accord, though Acura didn't confirm). The package also includes a slightly revised front fascia, retuned suspension system and new 18-inch wheels that are a full inch larger than the ones that come standard on the four-cyliner model. Acura says this new TSX model is a harbinger of good things to come, as the automaker plans to heavily revise all of its models for the upcoming model year. While we wait for that to take place, sales of the new V6 TSX should begin later this summer.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/">2010 Acura TSX V6</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/acuratsx_chicago1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/acuratsx_chicago2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/acuratsx_chicago3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/acuratsx_chicago4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/acuratsx_chicago5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/">2010 Acura TSX V6</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/01-2010_acura_tsx_v6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/02-2010_acura_tsx_v6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/03-2010_acura_tsx_v6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/04-2010_acura_tsx_v6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-acura-tsx-v6/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/05-2010_acura_tsx_v6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Live photos copyright (C)2009 Jeremy Korzeniewski</small></strong><small><a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/"><strong></strong></a><strong> / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></small></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2008-acura-unveils-tsx-v6-for-2010/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Acura unveils TSX V6 for 2010</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2008-acura-unveils-tsx-v6-for-2010/">Chicago 2009: Acura unveils TSX V6 for 2010</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 16:59:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>Click above to view live shots of the Scion tC Release Series 5.0</small></span> <br /></div>
<br />As we told you last week, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/09/scion-prices-tc-release-series-5-0/">Scion</a> is taking advantage of this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chicago-auto-show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> to drop yet another tweaked Scion tC, just like they did <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/chicago-2008-scion-tc-release-4-0-in-the-flesh/">last year</a>. This year's example is the 2009 Scion tC Release Series 5.0, of which 2000 examples or fewer will be built. <br /><br />One thing that makes this Release Series more interesting than some of its predecessors is the fact that Scion's modifications go beyond new paint and wheels. Besides the gloss black paint and red-lined, matte black, 18-inch wheels, parent company Toyota has added virtually everything in their TRD parts catalog. RS 5.0 gets lowering springs, a rear sway bar, a sport muffler and special badging, and there's also an optional rear lip spoiler. <br /><br />The interior features the same blacked-out TRD theme, with a leather-covered steering wheel, black seats and TRD-badged floor mats. To keep it from being too dark and depressing, the seats feature red inserts and stitching. Best of all, this TRD-infused package will add just $2,300 to the base price of the standard tC. Expect to see the new tC arriving in dealers beginning in March. <span style="font-style: italic;">The full press release is after the jump and we've added a bunch of live shots to the gallery as well.</span><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/">Chicago 2009: Scion tC Release Series 5.0</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/sciontc5.0---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/sciontc5.0---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/sciontc5.0---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/sciontc5.0---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/sciontc5.0---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong>Live photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://www.frank4cars.fotki.com/">Frank Filipponio</a> / Weblogs, inc.</strong></em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/">Scion tC Release Series 5.0</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/01_09_tc_rs_5.0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/02_09_tc_rs_5.0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0-is-errr-i-releas/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Scion tC Release Series 5.0 is...errr... <i>released</i></em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-scion-tc-release-series-5-0-is-errr-i-releas/">Chicago 2009: Scion tC Release Series 5.0 is...errr... <i>released</i></a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 15:58:00 EST. <br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-4-7l-v8/1349629/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/img_47l_opt.jpg" alt="" /></a>Toyota doesn't have a press conference scheduled for the 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ChicagoAutoShow/">Chicago Auto Show</a>, but it does have two noteworthy debuts. The first is an all-new 4.6L V8 engine that will replace the current 4.7L V8. The new eight-cylinder produces 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque while delivering an estimated 15 mpg city / 20 mpg highway. That puts the new 4.6L V8 near the head of the pack in terms of power and fuel economy for standard V8s in the segment. The engine will also be paired with a "new" six-speed automatic. Rather than simply use the six-speed auto that's paired with the larger 5.7L V8, Toyota engineers instead used the truck's five-speed auto, added an extra gear and respaced the ratios. <br /><br />Toyota's second debut in Chicago was a new Platinum Package available on Tundra CrewMax Limited models with the 5.7L V8. Though it shares an adjective with the new Ford F-150 Platinum, Toyota's top shelf truck is more low key and the package adds $5,140 to the vehicle price. Included is a new grille with chrome bumpers, unique 20-inch wheels, daytime running lamps, branded door sill protectors and Platinum badging around the truck. The package also includes a number of upgrades for the interior like a power moonroof, nav system and wood trim on the shifter, steering wheel and door trim. <br /><em><br /></em>Follow the jump for Toyota's official press release, check out the high-res galleries below and visit <a href="http://special-reports.pickuptrucks.com/2009/02/toyota-debuts-new-46liter-v8-for-tundra-with-exclusive-video.html">Pickuptrucks.com</a> for a deeper dive into the Tundra's improvement's for 2010.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/">2010 Toyota Tundra Platinum Package</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/000_tundraplat_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/001_tundraplat_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/002_tundraplat_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/003_tundraplat_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-toyota-tundra-platinum-package/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/004_tundraplat_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-4-7l-v8/low/">Toyota 4.7L V8</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-4-7l-v8/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/img_3499_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-4-7l-v8/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/img_3504_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/toyota-4-7l-v8/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/img_3516_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Source: Toyota, <a href="http://special-reports.pickuptrucks.com/2009/02/toyota-debuts-new-46liter-v8-for-tundra-with-exclusive-video.html">Pickuptrucks.com</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/toyota-unveils-new-4-6l-v8-platinum-package-for-tundra/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Toyota unveils new 4.6L V8, Platinum Package for Tundra</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/toyota-unveils-new-4-6l-v8-platinum-package-for-tundra/">Chicago 2009: Toyota unveils new 4.6L V8, Platinum Package for Tundra</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 14:41:00 EST. <br />In addition to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-2009-gm-finally-rolls-out-corvette-centennial-concept/">Corvette Centennial Concept</a>, Chevrolet showed three more AUTOBOTS at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ChicagoAutoShow/">Chicago Auto Show</a> that will make their big screen debuts in the upcoming <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> live action flick, along with one that we're all very familiar with. While we've seen images of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/1350011/">Chevy Volt</a> on the Transformers set, this is the first time that GM has displayed the vehicle for public consumption. This is no show car, as the vehicle on display showed significant wear and tear from its day job. In robot form, the Volt will be known as Jolt, which makes us hope for some shocking footage this summer.<br /><br />The other two vehicles were the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/1350017/">Chevy Beat</a>, which will be called the Spark when it enters production soon, and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/1350025/">Chevy Trax</a>. These two vehicles will be known as Skids and Mudflap respectively, and we're hearing these two 'bots could provide a bit of comic relief to what will otherwise be a sobering storyline. Lastly, we have the yellow and black Camaro, aka Bumblebee, which was represented in both <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/1350031/">car form</a> and in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chicago-2009-gm-transformers-cars/1349995/">17-foot-tall robot form</a>. <br />General Motors used the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chicago-auto-show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> to introduce the world to its latest concept vehicle, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/corvette+centennial+concept/">Corvette Stingray</a>, which will be featured in the upcoming <em>Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</em> movie on June 26th. According to GM, the vehicle is nothing more than a styling buck that was influenced by the original 1959 Stingray racer when it was spotted by director Michael Bay while he was touring GM's operations looking for inspiration for the first Transformers movie. Don't expect this concept to spawn any sort of production vehicle, which, needless to say, is a shame.<br /><br />In robot mode, the Corvette Stingray Concept will take the form of Sideswipe, who will reportedly be a skater with wheels for feet. The General doesn't have anything in the way of new product to show off here in Chicago, so it's using the blockbuster movie to drum up interest instead. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />We've just dashed back to the media center from the first press conference of the 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> where Ford unveiled the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/officially-official-2010-ford-taurus-sho/">2010 Taurus SHO</a> to the whoops and cries of SHO enthusiasts. We sat directly in front of a group of identically SHO-shirted "inner circle" faithful that Ford had brought from 11 different states to mark the occasion, and we were privy to more than a few honest-sounding gasps and slack jaws when the horsepower figure (365) was officially announced ("Jesus. Rock #$%@ing on!").<br /><br />In the metal, the Blue Oval's highest-performance SHO builds very discretely on the standard Taurus's muscular new bodywork, with a unique dark-gray grille and matching 19- or 20-inch alloys, along with distinct parking lamp bezels, a modest decklid spoiler and obligatory badging. Much to our editor-in-chief's chagrin, Ford chose to roll out the new model in maroon and silver, oddly foregoing the SHO-only Atlantis Green hue, but both examples looked attractive in their respective paints.<br /><br />If Ford has missed an obvious aesthetic trick with the SHO, it's with the engine, which is hidden under an innocuous black plastic cover. SHO enthusiasts have practically made scale jewelry out of the first- and second-generation Taurus SHO's Yamaha V-6 engine and its prominent intake runners, and the new Ecoboost engine looks utterly undistinguished. Thankfully, the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 should provide enough performance to win over the diehards.<br /><br />Given how many Tauruses (Taurii?) are likely to populate America's roads over the next few years, the SHO is likely to be a first-class sleeper, so subtle are its visual modifications. In any case, Ford isn't shying away from comparing their new baby with flashier, more expensive cars, casually noting that the car's performance figures should compare favorably with BMW's 5-Series and Chrysler's 300C all-wheel drive, the latter of which marketing and communications vice-president, Jim Farley, proudly notes is $900 pricier. <br />The only thing surprising to us about the 2010 Kia Forte is the name. The Forte debuted in South Korea last summer as a replacement for the compact Spectra sedan, but recently the automaker has indicated that the old name would be retained here in North America. Nomenclature aside, the new Forte is a very attractive little sedan that basic look of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/20/new-york-2008-kia-koup-concept/">Koup Concept</a> that debuted at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/New-York-Auto-Show/">New York Auto Show</a> last year and adds two doors. That's not two say we won't see a two-door version too if recent spy shots are any indication. <br /><br />Compared to the largely forgettable Spectra, the Forte is just over an inch longer and wider with two more inches between the axles. All U.S. models of the Forte get four-cylinder engines with variable valve timing. The LX and EX trim levels get 2.0L of displacement, 156-hp and a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. The top SX trim gets a 173-hp 2.4L mill and an extra ratio added to each gearbox option. A fuel economy special will pair the five-speed auto-box with the smaller engine, adding aero tweaks, low rolling resistance tires and electric power steering to bump the highway mileage to about 36 mpg. <br /><br />We'll meet the 2010 Kia Forte in person today, so stay with us for high-res live images of the car later this afternoon.<br /><br />[Source: Kia]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-auto-show-2010-kia-forte/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Spectra out, 2010 Kia Forte in</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/chicago-auto-show-2010-kia-forte/">Chicago 2009: Spectra out, 2010 Kia Forte in</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 08:00:00 EST. <br />Nissan has finally put a price tag on the 2009 Cube: $13,990. That's what the 1.8 model equipped with a manual transmission will set you back when sales begin in early May.<br /><br />Four versions of the Cube will be offered: the 1.8, 1.8 S, 1.8 SL and the model you see above, the 1.8 Krom. The limited-edition model, essentially a U.S.-spec of the JDM <a href="http://www2.nissan.co.jp/CUBE/Z12/0811/index.html?page=w13&amp;item=3 ">Cube Rider</a>, is based off the 1.8 S variant and features a three-bar chrome grille, two-bar chrome front bumper, unique fascias, side sills and spoiler, along with exclusive 16-inch aluminum wheels. Inside the factory customized model you'll find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, iPod interface, Bluetooth integration, titanium trim, illuminated lighting system, automatic temperature control, aluminum pedals and an upgraded audio system with six speakers and a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer.<br /><br />Buyers that opt for one of the standard models can choose from over 40 individual accessories, including a 20-color interior illumination kit, wheels and a "shag carpeting" instrument panel. <em>All the details are available in the press release below the fold.</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/">2009 Nissan Cube Krom</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/01-cube-krom_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/02-cube-krom_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/03-cube-krom_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/04-cube-krom_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-nissan-cube-krom/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/05-cube-krom_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2009-2009-nissan-cube-starting-at-13-990-cube-krom-un/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: 2009 Nissan Cube starting at $13,990, Cube Krom unveiled</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2009-2009-nissan-cube-starting-at-13-990-cube-krom-un/">Chicago 2009: 2009 Nissan Cube starting at $13,990, Cube Krom unveiled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 10 Feb 2009 20:42:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Travis Pastrana Edition</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Subaru may have <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/officially-official-subaru-leaving-world-rally-championship/">halted its World Rally Championship campaign</a>, but that isn't stopping the automaker from playing to the hopes and dreams of its enthusiast base and one of the sports' most visible characters. At the Chicago Auto Show, Subaru will take the wraps off the Impreza WRX STI Travis Pastana Edition, a one-make road-going rally machine almost entirely created by raiding the STI and SPT parts bin.<br /><br />Subaru worked with Pastrana and Vermont Sports Car to create a mildly tuned variant of the STI, beginning with a custom down-pipe and a tweaked ECU. A front strut brace and a SPT lower chassis brace work in conjunction with satin black 18x9-inch Work Evolution wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force Super Sport A/S tires (sized 275/35 all around).<br /><br />The rest of the mods are typical SEMA fare, including the yellow paint scheme, sticker job, carbon fiber hood and rear wing, along with a mesh grille, front chin spoiler, exhaust tips, mud flaps and PIAA 2100 HID driving lights. Inside, blue alcantara upholstery joins yellow piping, "199 Pastrana" embroidered logos, matching shift boot, steering wheel and parking brake handle and carbon fiber trim. Although the rally map light, short-throw shifter and passenger side metal foot rest may fool some rally fans some of the time, the Eclipse head unit, mass of Kicker speakers and Xbox 360 make it clear that this one-of-a-kind STI is little more than a show piece designed to draw attention to an otherwise spartan booth. <em>Hit the jump for all the details.</em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2008-subaru-and-vermont-sports-car-build-the-pastrana-w/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Subaru and Vermont Sports Car build the Pastrana WRX STI</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2008-subaru-and-vermont-sports-car-build-the-pastrana-w/">Chicago 2009: Subaru and Vermont Sports Car build the Pastrana WRX STI</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 10 Feb 2009 09:58:00 EST. As with other recent examples of the co-branded truck, the new 2010 F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition is largely an appearance package, but certainly a striking one. This is the 14th time that Ford has created a Harley edition pickup with the current series running back to 2000. Over the past decade, some 74,000 customers have opted for the bike-badged trucks. Aside from the unique Harley-Davidson visual elements, this model features most of the goodies you can find on the top-end Platinum edition F-150.<br /><br />This latest edition brings the custom Harley design ethos, such as it is, to Ford's latest full-size truck. Starting at the front, yet another grille appearance shows up in the F-150 line with a six-bar billet-style setup. The body work can be ordered in either a deep maroon called Lava or the same Tuxedo Black available on the Lincoln MKS. The latter color features tiny glass balls in the paint that give it even more luster in the sunshine than a conventional metallic paint. Along the flanks, a red sweep adorns the rocker panels and chrome Harley badging stretches just below the top edge of the bed. There's more about the Harley F-150 after the jump. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/">2010 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/10f150harley_21_hr-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/10f150harley_22_hr-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/10f150harley_23_hr-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/10f150harley_01_hr-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/10f150harley_02_hr-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Ford]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2009-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition-returns-for-rou/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago 2009: Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition returns for Round 14</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/10/chicago-2009-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-edition-returns-for-rou/">Chicago 2009: Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition returns for Round 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 10 Feb 2009 00:01:00 EST. <br />Another <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chicago-auto-show/">Chicago Auto Show</a>, another <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/chicago-2008-scion-tc-release-4-0-in-the-flesh/">mildly refreshed</a> Scion tC Release Series. For those keeping track, this is Release Series 5.0, but unlike previous limited-edition models, the modifications aren't limited to a new hue and set of rims. The best bits are found beneath the gloss black paint and matte black 18-inch wheels, where Scion seems to have thrown the entire TRD parts catalog at the tC RS 5.0. The tC benefits from lowering springs, a rear sway bar, sport muffler and badging, along with an optional rear lip spoiler. Inside, the blacked-out TRD theme continues with a leather-covered steering wheel, black seats and TRD-badged floor mats. The monochromatic scheme is broken up with red stitching inside and red stripes on the multi-spoke rims. <br /><br />A total of 2,000 R.S. 5.0's are slated for production, and sales will begin in March. Pricing seems reasonable, with the TRD-infused package adding $2,300 to the base price of the standard tC. It's a decent car to be sure, but considering the tC is entering its fifth year on the market with very few updates, Scion needs to do more with its coupe. Stay tuned for live shots from Chicago. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/">Scion tC Release Series 5.0</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/01_09_tc_rs_5.0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/scion-tc-release-series-5-0/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/02_09_tc_rs_5.0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/09/scion-prices-tc-release-series-5-0/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Scion prices tC Release Series 5.0</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/09/scion-prices-tc-release-series-5-0/">Scion prices tC Release Series 5.0</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Feb 2009 16:31:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of the Ford Transit Connect</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />One year after <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/chicago-2008-ford-transit-connect-arrives-in-the-state/">announcing it would bring the compact Transit Connect van to the U.S. market</a>, Ford is now ready to put it on sale. The little van hasn't changed much since we first saw it, although the styling of the nose has been tweaked a bit, primarily around the grille area. The lower front fascia now has the trapezoidal opening characteristic of Ford's Kinetic design. The Transit is intended to be a more maneuverable and efficient alternative to the big old E-series full-size vans targeted primarily at commercial customers, although anyone will be able to get one. <br /><br />American buyers of the Transit Connect will only have one conventional powertrain option, a 2.0L four cylinder Duratec gas engine paired up with a four-speed automatic transmission. Ford has also confirmed that the Transit Connect will be the basis of its new electric van to be offered starting in 2010. <br />We usually know what vehicles an automaker will debut at a major auto show the weekend before, but General Motors has kept us in the dark about its plans for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> next week. As such, we're not expecting any major product reveals, but today we learned that GM will be introducing us to the new Bumblebee from the movie <span style="font-style: italic;">Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen</span>. He's the same Bumblebee from the first film, but the Camaro into which he transforms has been spiffed up for the sequel with a new front bumper, chin spoiler, hood scoop and different wheels. Whereas the first Bumblebee was based on the Camaro Concept, it appears that the new one is based on the actual production car. <br /><br />Joining the orange Camaro in Chicago will be other characters from the film in their car forms. New additions to the sequel brandishing a GM badge include a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/28/reader-spy-chevy-volt-caught-from-the-beltline-up/">2010 Chevy Volt called Jolt</a>, a <a href="http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/2009/01/ironhide-twins-and-megatron-robot.html">Chevy Spark called Skids and a Trax concept called Mudflat</a> (together known as the Twins), and a character called Sideswipe based on the still-yet-to-be-revealed <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/03/new-shots-of-corvette-centennial-concept-surface/">Corvette Centennial Concept</a>. GM didn't specify in its press release (included after the jump) which characters are accompanying Bumblebee to Chicago, but the venue at McCormick Place is one of the largest exposition centers in the world, so the more Transformers the merrier. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/">Bumblebee and Autobots from TF2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/nmbumblebee210_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/nmbumblebee6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/tfsatlaurelhill8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/tfsatlaurelhill7_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bumblebee-and-autobots-from-tf2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/tfsatlaurelhill9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: General Motors]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/gm-bringing-bumblebee-2-other-autobots-to-chicago-auto-show/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GM bringing Bumblebee 2 and Autobots to Chicago Auto Show</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/gm-bringing-bumblebee-2-other-autobots-to-chicago-auto-show/">GM bringing Bumblebee 2 and Autobots to Chicago Auto Show</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 06 Feb 2009 12:34:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res image gallery of the 2010 Ford Taurus</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Ford has launched its <a href="http://www.fordvehicles.com/2010taurus/">mini-site</a> for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/detroit-2009-ford-reveals-2010-taurus-party-like-its-1986/">2010 Taurus</a>, and in addition to including images of its new flagship sedan in all available colors (see updated gallery below), a clue has been discovered that may shed some light on the rumored return of the much loved SHO model. Mousing over the word "GALLERY" will produce a drop down menu at the bottom of which is a selection called "PERFORMANCE SERIES". Mouse over that guy and the message "COMING FEBRUARY 2009" is revealed.<br /><br />The 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Chicago-Auto-Show/">Chicago Auto Show</a> occurs in February, which suggests that Ford will be debut this "Performance Series" of the Taurus in the Windy City. Will it be the SHO? We don't know, though prior spy shots of a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/spy-shots-sho-time-for-2010-ford-taurus/">SHO-badged interior</a> suggest an affirmative on that one. <br /><br />When Ford debuted the new Taurus at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Detroit-Auto-Show/">Detroit Auto Show</a> this week, mention was made of both the standard 3.5L Duratec V6 and the "optional availability of Ford's advanced EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6, with an announcement regarding availability soon." So we expect that Ford will debut the 355-hp EcoBoost V6 in the Taurus at the Chicago show, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be be wearing any Super High Output badges. Ford seems keen on building the EcoBoost brand name, as "EcoBoost" will appear alongside the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/detroit-2009-lincoln-mks-latest-to-get-ecoboost-v6/">Lincoln MKS</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/detroit-2009-2010-lincoln-mkt-adds-flexibility-to-the-lineup/">MKT</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/detroit-2009-ford-debuts-3-6l-ecoboost-v6-in-flex/">Ford Flex</a> when those new models are ordered up with the same advanced engine.<br /><br />Frankly, we hope Ford just calls it the EcoBoost Taurus and leaves "SHO" alone for now. The 2010 Taurus may share a name with the one that was offered with a Yamaha V6 back in the '80s and '90s, but the new one is a much larger, heavier car that's ill-suited for sport sedan duties. We'll reiterate our wish once again: a Fusion SHO tuned by SVT with a manual or dual-sequential gearbox, front-wheel-drive, weight saving measures and a small EcoBoost four-cylinder capable of producing a reverential 220 horsepower and return well over 30 mpg on the highway. But that's just us.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/">2010 Ford Taurus</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0_2010fordtaurus002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0_2010fordtaurus003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0_2010fordtaurus000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0_2010fordtaurus001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-ford-taurus/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/0_2010fordtaurus004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.bringbackthesho.com/phpnuke/modules.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=35">BringBacktheSHO.com</a>, <a href="http://www.fordvehicles.com/2010taurus/">Ford</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/15/2010-ford-taurus-sho-slated-for-chicago-debut/">2010 Ford Taurus SHO slated for Chicago debut?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 15 Jan 2009 15:59:00 EST.
