After testing the retro-wagon back in December, it was discovered that vehicles not equipped with the optional "roof rail" airbags fail to meet the fed's crash standards. The recall affects 181,516 2006-2008 HHRs and Chevrolet dealers will begin installing an energy-absorbent piece of plastic to the headliner on all affected models next month.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr">2008 Chevy HHR</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/00008hhr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/00108hhr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/00208hhr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/00308hhr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-chevy-hhr/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/00408hhr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsummary.cfm?rcl_campaign_id=08V046000&amp;prod_id=218912&amp;moduletype=VEHICLE&amp;make=CHEVROLET&amp;model=HHR&amp;veh_model_year=2007&amp;searchtype=DrillDown">NHTSA</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/13/gm-recalling-180-000-chevrolet-hhrs/">GM recalling 180,000 Chevrolet HHRs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 13 Feb 2008 15:02:00 EST. Spotted by an Autoblog reader in Anaheim, California, this Heritage High Roof is sporting all manner of Mercedes badging, from the big three-pointed star on the grill, to the center caps on the wheels and the steering wheel. Dubbed an LS 500 4 Matic if the badging out back is to be believed, it has traded in its Motown roots for a purer pedigree that traces a line directly back to Mercedes-Benz HQ in Stuttgart, Germany. GM engineers did tune the HHR SS Turbo on the Nurburgring, but we don't think this is the type of German engineering with which they were looking to associate Chevy's little people mover. <em>Thanks for the pics, Oli!<br /></em><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition">Chevy HHR - Mercedes-Benz Edition</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/hhr4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/hhr1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/hhr2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/hhr3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-hhr-mercedes-benz-edition/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/hhr5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><em><br /></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/24/confused-chevy-hhr-thinks-its-a-mercedes/">Confused Chevy HHR thinks it's a Mercedes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 24 Jan 2008 15:56:00 EST. Love it or hate it, the HHR is like Chrysler's PT Cruiser in more ways than one. It's also a blank canvas for customizers. While there were a few modded wagons on display, our favorite was the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/10/31/gm-to-show-seven-hhr-concepts-at-sema/">neo-Nomad white HHR two-door</a>. Lowered and sporting a 270-horse 4-cylinder, this is one stylish, relatively understated ride. The rest of the display was a bit more Xtreme. <br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Continues after the jump</span><br /><br />[Source: Chevy]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts">Chevy Xtreme Concepts</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/chevy-extremes---1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/chevy-extremes---2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/chevy-extremes---3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/chevy-extremes---4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-xtreme-concepts/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/chevy-extremes---5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/chicago-auto-show-chevy-dealers-go-to-xtremes/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chicago Auto Show: Chevy dealers go to Xtremes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/chicago-auto-show-chevy-dealers-go-to-xtremes/">Chicago Auto Show: Chevy dealers go to Xtremes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 09 Feb 2007 14:26:00 EST.
