<br />
It's a sign of the times that most buyers of the new Camaro would go for the V6 and not the V8. At $31,595, the eight-cylinder SS model naturally sells for more than the $23,530 base V6 model. To compound the issue the V6 model costs the auto giant nearly as much to build as the V8 version.<br />
<br />
So why would GM want buyers to go for the V6? The smaller engine would help the General keep its Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) rate on the good side of earth-friendly. But according to Edmunds, customers have been voting with their feet. Their right feet, as it would happen, heavy as they are.<br />
<br />
Of more than 47,000 Camaros sold from April through October, Edmunds estimates that about two-thirds have been V8 SS models - a trend we can get on board with.<br />

<br />
For years and years, avid American car enthusiasts thought of a certain Holden as the Holy Grail. In hushed tones and with furtive looks, we let each other know that, yeah, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/BMWE39M5/">BMW E39 M5</a> is pretty dang sweet, but there's this Australian car... a four-door with a six-speed and a Corvette motor... and it's... dare we say it... <em>better</em>? However, it remained a piece of Automotive apocrypha not only because we couldn't have it, but because no one could remember the name (<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/HSVGTS/">HSV GTS</a>, of all the nonsensical, alphabet soup letter combos Holden could have selected).<br />
<br />
We mention the legendary HSV GTS because Australian Camaro fans might now be experiencing what us muscle car-starved Yanks went through at the beginning of the decade -- <em>withdrawal!</em> Because not only are there are no right-hand drive Camaros (Aussies still insist on pretending they're British/Japanese), but the 2010 update to the original Mustang competitor is based almost totally on native Holden underpinnings. Ouch!<br />
<br />
But fear not, Performax International has figured out how to move the steering wheel to the opposite side of the transmission tunnel and will sell those of you living in the Land Down Unda a right-hand drive Camaro SS for just $139,000 AUD. That's $128,500 U.S. American dollars to you and me. Which is... psychotic, says us. Especially considering that in America, a Camaro SS costs $33,745. But despite what we think, half a dozen customers have already placed orders with Performax International for a Aussie-spec'd Camaro.<br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>2010 Chevy Camaro - Click above for high-res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Now that the 2010 Chevy Camaro is finally <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/07/lot-o-camaros-has-production-started/">ready to hit dealerships</a>, details like the car's official EPA estimated fuel mileage and its estimated run to 60 mph are beginning to hit the interwebs. Good news: Both are impressive. According to The General, the 304-horsepower direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 engine that's standard in the LT and LS models will achieve 29 miles per gallon on the highway and 18 mpg in the city with the six-speed automatic, or 17 mpg with the six-speed stick. V8 models also perform more efficiently than expected, with figures of 16 city and 25 highway (24 with the automatic transmission). <br /><br />Those numbers are better than what the Camaro's muscle car competition can muster across the board. Its eco-victory likely won't last long, however, as the new 2010 Ford Mustang offers carryover engines from the last model year that we expect will be replaced for the 2011 model year with more efficient powertrains, maybe even a twin-turbo, direct-inject EcoBoost V6. <br /><br /><br /><style type="text/css"> #comparechart { border: 2px solid #333; border-collapse: collapse; } #comparechart td { padding: 3px; border: 1px solid #ccc; vertical-align: top; margin: 0; line-height: 1.3em; font-size: 100%} #comparechart th { font-size: 200%; font-weight: bold; text-align: left; padding: 4px; background: #eee; } #comparechart th.mainth { font-size: 100%; border-bottom: 1px solid #333; } #comparechart td.red { background-color: #f08c85; } #comparechart td.green { background-color: #b3e2c4; } #comparechart td.yellow { background-color: #ffffcc;} </style>

<em><strong>*MPG numbers for 2010 Ford Mustang are manufacturer estimates<br />**Most powerful version of engine type offered with automatic transmission</strong></em><br /><br />As a performance car, we're obviously interested in more than just fuel mileage, and the 2010 Camaro SS doesn't disappoint with a (so far unverified) 0-60 mph run of just <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5170574/chevy-camaro-ss-official-0+to+60-time-47-seconds">4.7 seconds</a>. <br />Historically speaking, the Camaro SS should be the top rung of performance in Chevy's pony car line, but there are literally millions of people in the United States who <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/08/rendered-speculation-chevy-camaro-z28/">recognize</a> the Z/28 moniker as the ultimate expression of the Camaro. Since there's so much cachet with the model, you may wonder if the General has plans to release a new Z to market now that the first <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/14/detroit-2009-first-look-at-the-production-2010-chevy-camaro/">production-ready</a> Camaros are just about to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/04/pre-production-chevy-camaros-begin-rolling-off-oshawa-assembly-l/">roll off the assembly line</a>. <br /><br />Perhaps not. Even if GM had the money to launch another Camaro variant, which it probably doesn't, some inside the company reportedly wonder if a 550-horsepower, supercharged, 6.2-liter fire-breather is exactly what the ailing company needs now that so many eyes are intently watching its every move - especially those belonging to the federal government.<br /><br />As far as we're concerned, a 0-60-in-under-4-second shot in the arm would go a long way towards fixing just about any problem. Unfortunately, market realities, politicians and CAFE regulations may strongly disagree with our knuckle-dragging gearhead mentality. <em>Thanks for the tip, jared</em>!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/">2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/00_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x10ch_cm051_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/01_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/02_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/03_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2009/112_0904_chevrolet_camaro_z28_returns/index.html">Motor Trend</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/17/camaro-z-28-to-return/">Camaro Z/28 to return? </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 17 Feb 2009 11:59:00 EST. <br />Bidding for the first retail production <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2010ChevyCamaro/">2010 Chevy Camaro</a> is set to begin in Prime Time on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. A similar move was made last year when the first production Corvette ZR1 managed to rake in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/20/barrett-jackson-2008-2009-corvette-zr1-1-goes-for-a-cool-milli/">an astounding one-million dollars</a>. Like that ZR1, all proceeds will be given to charity, in this case, the <a href="http://www.americanheart.org/">American Heart Association</a>, so anything over the car's list MSRP will be tax deductible, which is nice. <br /><br />Regular production of Chevy's new pony car won't begin until a month after the auction takes place, so the Camaro on display in Scottsdale won't be the actual unit being bid on. We're still awaiting official details, like if the Camaro - lot number 1316 for those interested in bidding (go for it, it's for charity!) - is a base model (seems unlikely) or a fully loaded SS model, complete with a 422-hp small block V8. Of course, the big question is how much it'll bring, and we'll be sure to have that figure for you as soon as the gavel falls.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/">2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/00_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x10ch_cm051_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/01_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/02_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/03_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/search.aspx?st=1&amp;aid=283&amp;d=01/13/2009">Barret-Jackson</a> via <a href="http://wot.motortrend.com/6395124/auctions/first-2010-chevrolet-camaro-to-be-auctioned-at-barrett-jacksons-scottsdale-sale/index.html">Motor Trend</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/17/first-retail-production-2010-camaro-to-be-auctioned-by-barrett-j/">First retail production 2010 Camaro to be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 17 Dec 2008 10:27:00 EST. <br />Chevrolet has reportedly taken more than 6,000 orders for its new Camaro so far, and why not? The car is great looking, excitement is high, and fuel prices have eased up a bit. You'd think that the prior spike in the cost of fuel would still be fresh on everyone's mind, thus making the V6 a popular choice. Wrongo. While the V6 has similar lip-smackingly great styling, and won't be a slowpoke, it seems that everyone wants that small block rhythm thumping away under the hood of their neo-ponycar. 84% of orders have been for V8-powered SS models so far, which may mean a longer wait for delivery since GM is likely building a very different ratio of V8 to V6 models. <em>Thanks for the tip, Doug!</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/">2010 Chevrolet Camaro</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/15808-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/15808-011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/15808-057_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/15808-084_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevrolet-camaro-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/15808-112_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.camaro5.com/?p=248">Camaro5</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/28/6-000-camaros-ordered-so-far-84-with-v8/">6,000 Camaros ordered so far, 84% with V8</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 10:56:00 EST. <br />Video clips of the Corvette ZR1 strutting its stuff on track can be found virtually anywhere on the internet. But that doesn't mean we're tired of seeing the beast in action, particularly if the video happens to feature another new staple of GM's sporty lineup. The latest internet discovery is a grainy, sometimes barely audible, clip of the Chevrolet Camaro SS tackling the twisties with a guest appearance by a jet black ZR1. The video begins with the new muscle making a go on the course all alone. Then later, it appears trailing behind the infamous supercharged 'Vette. <br /><br />From what we can see, the Camaro's chassis seems to be nicely tuned. The body roll is not substantial and the pony car takes a seat quickly when entering a turn with no floaty oscillations. Hopefully the short but sweet video tease is a direct indication of the production setup. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/video-camaro-ss-and-corvette-zr1-sparring-on-track/">Follow the jump</a> to view things for yourself. <em>Thanks for the tip, Xeyad!</em><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autofiends.com/index.php/2008/09/video-2010-chevrolet-camaro-ss-on-track/">Autofiends</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/video-camaro-ss-and-corvette-zr1-sparring-on-track/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Camaro SS and Corvette ZR1 sparring on track</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/video-camaro-ss-and-corvette-zr1-sparring-on-track/">VIDEO: Camaro SS and Corvette ZR1 sparring on track</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 17 Sep 2008 14:01:00 EST. <br />Here we go again. Late last month we brought you a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/25/chevy-camaro-ss-photos-emerge-en-masse/">bevy of beautiful 2010 Chevy Camaro SS shots</a>, and today General Motors has released a big batch of its own. These new images include studio shots of the 422-hp Camaro SS from various angles, as well as a few detail shots of the front and rear ends. Eh, it was about time for a new desktop wallpaper anyway. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/">2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/00_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x10ch_cm051_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/01_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/02_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/03_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: GM]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/11/pics-aplenty-2010-chevy-camaro-ss/">Pics Aplenty: 2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 11 Sep 2008 12:31:00 EST. It showed up on the automaker's media site yesterday evening all by its lonesome with no accompanying details, but what else is there to know besides the fact it's packing a 6.2L LS3 V8 producing 422 hp and 408 lb-ft of torque? And for those who were wondering before, the nostril vent does appear to be part of the production package. Perhaps this picture's sudden appearance portends more information to come. We'll keep our ears and eyes open just in case.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/">2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/00_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x10ch_cm051_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/01_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/02_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/03_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: GM]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/03/gm-releases-first-official-photo-of-2010-chevy-camaro-ss/">GM releases first official photo of 2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 08:57:00 EST. Fortunately for us, new photos of the Camaro Super Sport have found their way online thanks to Kevin Kolvenbach who goes by the handle of RagSS on the forums. It's claimed that RagSS took these pics, which we find suspect considering their high quality. Well, maybe he took <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/997093/">this one</a>. Regardless, they were taken and we're told show the Camaro SS basking in the sun around Hudson Valley, New York, another claim we doubt considering the type of vegetation and, oh, we don't know, large mountains in the background. Go west, young man.<br /><br />With a 6.2L LS3 V8 producing 422 hp and 408 lb-ft of torque, the SS will be the cream of the Camaro crop for now and probably some time to come, as its power level puts the SS nearly on par with the base Corvette. While the Camaro SS may lack many of the Corvette's other attributes, we're fairly certain Chevy doesn't want to start cannibalizing Vette sales.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/">2010 Chevy Camaro SS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/00_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x10ch_cm051_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/01_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/02_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-ss/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/03_10camaross_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autoinsane.com/news/new-models/first-production-camaro-ss-photos-emerge.html">AutoInsane</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/25/chevy-camaro-ss-photos-emerge-en-masse/">Chevy Camaro SS photos emerge en masse</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Aug 2008 10:58:00 EST. We already pointed out the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/739052/">bright red Brembo calipers</a> on this Camaro, which suggest it's a high-performance SS version of the car, though that hasn't been confirmed. What is special about these photos is that they're the first time we've seen the Camaro really being driven hard on the track. Though we've seen plenty of Camaro spy shots in the past, most have been of the car caught in a parking lot, on a transport trailer or just meandering around town. Seeing the suspension under load is a thing of beauty that we've been waiting for, and KGP spy photogs tell us that it "looks impressive in action, and that its suspension looks well buttoned down on some of the 'Ring's challenging stretches." Hopefully they have their stop watches ready when Chevy engineers run the car hard for a full lap. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/">Chevy Camaro at the Nurburgring - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/00_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: KGP Photography]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/08/spy-shots-camaro-ss-finally-gets-busy-on-the-ring/">Spy Shots: Camaro SS finally gets busy on the 'Ring</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 08 Apr 2008 12:57:00 EST. Camaro prototypes now hold as much of our interest as spy shots of the next Aveo (not really, but hyperbolic statements like that help make the point). But here we have a new batch of spy shots from a place where the Camaro has yet to set rubber to road: Germany. There's only one reason for a U.S.-spec car to be in Germany, and that's to undergo testing at the famed N&uuml;rburgring Nordschleife. GM has made the 'Ring a second home for many of its performance vehicles, and the Camaro will benefit from being thrashed on one of the world's most famous tracks while spy photographers watch with their lenses focused and stop watches in hand. This particular Camaro arrived wearing new shoes, as well. The car is sporting a set of conspicuously bright red <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/739052/">Brembo calipers</a>, which perhaps suggests that these stoppers will be an option on the car or standard equipment on the Camaro SS.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/">Chevy Camaro at the Nurburgring - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/00_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/chevy-camaro-at-the-nurburgring-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_camarossring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: KGP Photography]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/07/spy-shots-chevy-camaro-arrives-at-nurburgring-wearing-brembos/">Spy Shots: Chevy Camaro arrives at Nürburgring wearing Brembos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Apr 2008 13:57:00 EST. Forget the tease we all got via the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/27/gm-making-sure-camaro-accessories-are-ready/">upskirt video</a> GM allowed to be filmed -- this shows the full monty.<br /><br />Here's the quick-and-dirty rundown.<br />
<ul>
    <li>7-spoke wheels</li>
    <li>RS stripe package (left side of the car)</li>
    <li>SS stripe package (right side of the car)</li>
    <li>Grille insert</li>
    <li>Rear fascia blackout</li>
    <li>Platform-style rear wing</li>
    <li>Fuel filler cap</li>
    <li>2 possible ground effects kits (see <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723876/">close-up of the rear</a> -- at that point, the clay modeling is "halved")</li>
    <li>Ducktail spoiler (again, see <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723876/">detail shot</a> -- it's on the right half of the car)</li>
    <li>Slotted brake discs w/ red calipers</li>
</ul>
Whatever the final assortment of accessories turns out to be, it would seem that there'll be a very wide selection from which to choose. As for the 5-spoke wheels shown in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723878/">two</a> of the photos, they look 'shopped on. Whether those are GM photoshops or fan mods is anyone's guess. We're definitely feeling that RS package, though -- with those black 7-spokes, please. Keep that wing, though.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/">GM Accessories for Chevy Camaro</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3425">Camaro5</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/28/chevy-camaro-accessory-photos-drip-online/">Chevy Camaro accessory photos drip online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 28 Mar 2008 10:02:00 EST. Someone took a perfectly nice Camaro SS and added a bunch of Batman adoration to create this Batmaro, a.k.a. the Caped Crusader Camaro, complete with an appropriately winged body kit, Batman symbol <em>spinner</em> wheels, and the airbrushed visage of Gotham's freedom fighter adorning its hood scoop. <br /><br />Seems a shame the unknown owner didn't start with a Ram-Air Trans-Am, which always looked to us like it emerged from the Bat Cave instead of a General Motors assembly plant. For some reason, the words Dark Knight Rider come to mind. The deep-set headlights with bumper-mounted foglights surrounded by the white SS stripe bring back memories of the Camaro's past, but the swoopy rear fenders seem to miss the mark a bit.
