Fiat sexy Catrinel Menghia topless beach ad

Chrysler marketing chief Olivier Francois has unveiled five new Fiat ads he says could be used in the 2013 Super Bowl. All five were previewed at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week and show five different "everyday" situations where the 500 acts as a catalyst to boost adrenaline levels.

The first shows an attractive female driver suiting up for a spin around a track in the new electric-powered 500e. The drive goes well until the second turn when, obviously, something goes wrong. The 500e is all over the road and eventually careens off course in a cloud of dust. The support crew races to the car where the picturesque brunette is French-kissing a shirtless man behind the wheel. The spot ends with the tagline "Environmentally Sexy" above a rocking 500e.

The second ad has two tuxedoed men in the front seat of a 500L trying to catch a glimpse of two young ladies changing into bridesmaid dresses in the back seat. It's mildly entertaining but gets better at the end when the surprise punchline carries home the message "More room. More possibilities."

The third and fourth ads are also for the 500L and make clever twists on the "Very family friendly" tagline. Dear old Dad gets some sisterly jollies in one and in the other Junior gets a hearty welcome into his girlfriend's family.

But Fiat saved the best for last. Remember that hot ad for the Fiat 500 Abarth that debuted in the 2012 Super Bowl? Called "Seduction," it starred supermodel Catrinel Menghia. Ms. Menghia returns with a scorpion co-star slowly inching its way up her bikini-covered back. As the new 500 Abarth Cabrio streaks by, the stinger-equipped arachnid makes a strategic clip with a claw and we get the tag, "Small, wicked... and now topless."

Ah, Catrinel Menghia. Fiat knows a good thing when it finds one, and so it's no surprise to see a trio of new advertisements staring the Romanian-born and Italian-speaking model alongside the 2012 500 Abarth.

First up is a minute-long montage showing the Scorpion-addled Abarth flung around the desert while Catrinel... well, stands around looking beautiful. Next, the turbocharged 500 drives down the Las Vegas Strip while Ms. Menghia walks around looking beautiful. Notice a trend?

In the third video of this new series, Catrinel finally gets to drive the Abarth in a race against a lucky cameraman. Well, sort of. The two cars are actually piloted by "professional drivers on a closed course" - as you can see, they are wearing helmets. Catrinel and the cameraman, on the other hand, emerge from their black and white 500s with hair blowing in the wind.

No matter. Clearly these videos are meant to build upon the first extremely successful tie-up between the model and the Italian hatchback. We've gone ahead and included that initial commercial, along with the three new ones, below. Enjoy!

Fiat scored a major hit with its commercial for the 500 Abarth starring Romanian model Catrinel Menghia. Released last November as a web-only video, the spot exploded in popularity when it hit the airwaves during the Super Bowl in February. Having proven that a dollop of sexiness is enough to get your attention, Fiat has chosen a different but equally well-proven tactic for this new 500 Abarth commercial: babies.

We'll save the plot for your viewing pleasure below, but just mention that teaching your baby to speak Italian is way cooler than sign language.

2012 Fiat 500 Abarth Charlie Sheen commercial

What do you do when you want to cast your cute little city car as a truly bad ass performance machine? How about hiring an infamous drug enthusiast actor, a guy who insists he has "tiger blood" flowing through his veins?

Yes, that's right, Fiat has enlisted none other than Charlie Sheen to promote its Abarth-tuned version of the 500 here in the States. Sheen's appearance in the commercial is brief, portraying himself hot-shoeing the small car around a palatial home - indoors, during a party, mind you - while under "house arrest." Sheen, of course, is the former star of Two and a Half Men, who was reportedly the highest-paid actor on television before being fired for badmouthing the show's creator last year. Sheen's antics also included demanding a 50 percent raise and threatening a lawsuit against his employers, despite being hospitalized for substance abuse-related issues at least three times.

The Fiat 500 Abarth goes on sale this spring, while Sheen's new FX series, Anger Management, premieres on Thursday, June 28 at 9 p.m.

Fiat 500 Abarth

There's no question that Fiat's "Seduction" ad was a big success. Launched just a few weeks ago to coincide with the North American debut of the Fiat 500 Abarth, the minute-long commercial quickly went viral to amass over two million views. And with good reason. The spot's got everything: cars, sexy, funny.... So what more could Fiat do with the ad? Pop-Up Video, of course!

The VH1 program was most popular in the late 90s, but was revived just a couple of months ago by the (*ahem*) music television channel. So Fiat handed its precious video over to VH1 for the full pop-up treatment, complete with random snippets of information about its production and such. Fiat 500 Abarth commercial

Jennifer Lopez may be all well and fine for plugging the regular Fiat 500, but for the new Abarth version, Fiat's going to need something a little... racier. So for the latest spot advertising the arrival of the Scorpion-fettled Cinquecento, Fiat USA (also known as the import-flavored Chrysler division) took a decidedly different approach.

We have no idea what the heart-stoppingly gorgeous Italian model in the new commercial is saying, but then we don't really care. All we know is we'll never look at this hatchback quite the same. Follow the jump to watch the clip - just be forewarned that it may not be perfectly safe for work.

Considering that somewhere between two-thirds and three-quarters of the earth's surface is covered by water - and that, if the global warming alarmists are right, that proportion of aqua to terra firma will only increase - it should come as no great surprise that the world's automakers and their designers have been setting sail on the open sea. Recent examples have included 28-foot speedboats and 135-foot catamaran megayachts penned by Porsche Design, sailboats and motor yachts from BMW DesignWorks USA, and speedboats from former Jaguar and Spyker supercar designers. The list goes on and on, and probably will continue to grow until we get the go-ahead to spin off Aquablog.

The latest pair - both rigid inflatables measuring over 40 feet long and packing ludicrous power - come from the collaboration between Italian shipyard SACS Marine and the Fiat Group: a white, outboard-powered open-plan tender for Abarth and a sleek black vessel for Lancia. The latter shares its nautical name with the motor launches that navigate the canals and waterways of Venice in the place of cars on any other city's streets. And that's just the venue the Italian automaker chose to launch - in every sense of the word - its stunning speedboat, during the international film festival it sponsored there this weekend.

As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the Lancia di Lancia is a 13-meter rigid inflatable speedboat packing a pair of 560hp 6.7-liter 24-valve common-rail six-cylinder turbodiesels from Fiat Powertrain Technologies. It's capable of carrying 11 passengers on board in unparalleled style and topping out at 55 knots - impressive for an eight-and-a-half ton vessel, and easily the most dramatic vehicle to bear the Lancia name in decades. So much so, in fact, that Lancia and its onetime iconic sponsor Martini Racing rekindled their relationship for this speedboat. And just for kicks, they brought along Romanian supermodel Catrinel Menghia - the face of Giorgio Armani and Lise Charmel lingerie - for a cruise around the picturesque canals.
