The VW Caddy has lived a staid life as a popular work truck in Europe, but the Swedes apparently think it could be so much more. So it's releasing 250 Carrera Cup Edition Caddies outfitted with black, 17-inch wheels wrapped in 225/45 R17 rubber, a new body kit, red-on-white paint scheme with Porsche's signature "Carrera" text, two-tone leather sport seats, a leather steering wheel and shifter. The 2.0-liter TDI mill is putting out 140 hp and 236 lb.-ft. of torque and with a fire extinguisher mounted on the diamond-plate floor boards, we think we might have found the perfect track-day accomplice to join that GT3 RS we've been building in our dreams.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/">Volkswagen Caddy Carrera Cup Edition 2.0TDI R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/01_caddy_carrera_cup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/02_caddy_carrera_cup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/03_caddy_carrera_cup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/04_caddy_carrera_cup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/05_caddy_carrera_cup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/05/vw-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-20tdi-r.html">Carscoop</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/30/cross-bred-caddy-volkswagen-caddy-carrera-cup-edition-2-0tdi-r/">Cross-bred Caddy: Volkswagen Caddy Carrera Cup Edition 2.0TDI R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 30 May 2008 19:32:00 EST. Following a year of construction, the Porsche Motorsports Centre occupies over 107,000 square feet in 4 connected buildings that will house workshops, race car production, a truck terminal, a logistics center, and of course, the motorsport administrative offices.<br /><br />This complex is double the size of the old Motorsports facility, and even though it's mostly going to support Porsche's factory and privateer race efforts, drivers of certain road cars will also find themselves unwitting members of the Porsche Motorsports family. The Centre will also supply spare parts for the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS street cars, illustrating just how closely connected those vehicles are to the company's legendary race program.<br /><br />(Additional photo and more info after the jump)<br /><br />[Source: Porsche]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/07/27/porsche-opens-new-motorsport-centre-in-weissach/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Porsche opens new Motorsport Centre in Weissach</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/07/27/porsche-opens-new-motorsport-centre-in-weissach/">Porsche opens new Motorsport Centre in Weissach</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 27 Jul 2006 07:04:00 EST.
