A car in Colorado Springs, Colo., went out with a bang after a serious rear-end collision cause it to catch fire and explode.

Stop, drop and roll. It's a lesson from elementary school that may have saved this man's life. A runaway truck with an unconscious driver sped into a gas pump in Clarksville Tenn., causing a fireball that engulfed the truck and a nearby gas station customer.

Why is it that everything looks cooler in slow motion? And the slower the better, especially when you're dealing with one of those new-fangled high frame rate super cameras. Case in point? When you add a MG Midget, a serious amount of explosives and a 1,000 frame per second camera and you have some very compelling YouTube footage.

When it comes to blowing up cars, the boys (and girl) from Mythbusters are starting to get some serious competition from the Stuntbusters crew. While Discovery's myth-busting show bases its explosions around some sort of crazy science experiment, its competitor from Speed seems simply content with fireballs and bombs just for the sake of good television.

Not everyone has the stuff it takes to be a firefighter. Take the gent you see holding the hose in the image above: as point-man on the water jet, he strides up to the burning Chevrolet to put out the fire. While performing what appears to be a routine hose-down right next to the sedan, something inside the car explodes with enough force to jolt the cameraman in the nearby apartment.
