To kick things off, we decided to answer a question that we had ourselves: How do you cook a meal using the only heat generated by a car engine. We didn't want to try something easy like hot dogs, so we went with ham and potatoes. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/11/ask-autoblog-how-do-you-cook-with-your-car-engine/">Follow the jump</a> to see whether or not we found success in the plastic-clad engine bays of today's cars, and let us know what you think of the results. Also, if you've tried to cook food in your engine bay, let us know what you made, and whether it worked out for you.<br /><br />We'd also like for you to ask us any questions in the comments section of this post that may be on your mind, and we'll pick the ones best suited for video and answer them on <em>Ask Autoblog</em>. If the response is good, we'll make this a regular thing and maybe pick up a sponsor to pay for it. So check out the first <em>Ask Autoblog</em> video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/11/ask-autoblog-how-do-you-cook-with-your-car-engine/">after the jump</a> and ask away in the comments.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/11/ask-autoblog-how-do-you-cook-with-your-car-engine/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ask Autoblog: How do you cook with your car engine?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/11/ask-autoblog-how-do-you-cook-with-your-car-engine/">Ask Autoblog: How do you cook with your car engine?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 11 Feb 2008 19:56:00 EST. Surely there's an easier way. A group of Iranian inventors looked at how we cook and how we drive and how we dump so much heat out the back of our cars. Putting them all together, they came up with the Exhaust Burger concept. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/exhaust-burger-concept/605301/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/finalex_opt.jpg" alt="" /></a>Before you start complaining about the taste of carbon monoxide and the cancer risks of automotive air pollution, look closely at the design. The exhaust merely heats the upper element of the device, cooking your burger much like a Foreman Grill. <br /><br />Of course, unlike the Foreman, there's nowhere for the grease to go, no easy way to check on the status of your food, and the Exhaust Burger only cooks one patty at a time. Oh, and the EB is still only a concept that was entered into Designboom's competition. <br /><br />We'd sure like to try it out, though, especially if fitted to the back of a bio-diesel running on used grease from McDonald's. Instead of asthma-inducing fumes, we'd be spewing the hunger-inspiring smells of french fries and hamburgers. Yum. <em>Thanks for the tip, Mike!</em><br /><br />[Source: Culture Garage via <a href="http://www.designboom.com/contest/view.php?contest_pk=21&amp;item_pk=20748&amp;p=1">Designboom</a>]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/exhaust-burger-concept/low/">Exhaust Burger Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/exhaust-burger-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/finalex_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/exhaust-burger-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/finalex00_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/24/exhaust-burger-let-your-tailpipe-cook-for-you/">Exhaust Burger: Let your tailpipe cook for you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 24 Jan 2008 18:57:00 EST.
