<br />
Some of the most desirable <a href="http://autoblog.com/chevrolet/camaro">Chevrolet Camaros</a> are the factory-made replicas to celebrate the pony car's inclusion in the racing world as a pace car. And it looks like we have yet another pace car rep to add to our growing list of potential collectibles with <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/general+motors">General Motors</a>' announcement that it will build 200 or fewer <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/18/2010-camaro-ss-pace-car-ready-for-indy-500/">2010 Chevy Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Limited Edition</a> models.<br />
<br />
Each of the Pace Car models will be based on an SS with the RS appearance package. A 400 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine will be mated up with a six-speed automatic transmission (what, no manual?), with power put to the ground through 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. A throwback-style front grille recalls the old '67 Pace Cars, and the whole shebang will be painted in Inferno Orange, including the engine cover.<br />
<br />
Now, for the most important bits:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Premium floor mats with accent colors</li>
    <li>2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo decal on both doors and embroidered on driver and passenger headrests</li>
    <li>2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo badges on front fenders</li>
</ul>
Price? $41,950 (including an $850 Destination Freight Charge). Get the rest of the details in the press release after the break.<br />

<br />Like Bumblebee on his interstellar voyage from Cybertron, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro has taken years to arrive. If we take the Transformers analogy further (bear with us), the Camaro has landed after a few Decepticons - the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Nissan 370Z - have already begun staking out territories. More than the others, the Camaro has to justify its place in the battle, while at the same time backing up three years of unrelenting hype.<br /><br />Follow the jump to find out if Chevrolet has brought the required weaponry to fight to the death for muscle car supremacy.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive">First Drive: 2010 Chevy Camaro</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/001_2010camaro_fd_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/007_2010camaro_fd_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/000_2010camaro_fd_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/002_2010camaro_fd_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-chevy-camaro-first-drive/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/003_2010camaro_fd_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>All photos Copyright (C)2009 Jonathon Ramsey / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/23/first-drive-2010-chevrolet-camaro/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First Drive: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/23/first-drive-2010-chevrolet-camaro/">First Drive: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 23 Mar 2009 11:58:00 EST. Forget the tease we all got via the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/27/gm-making-sure-camaro-accessories-are-ready/">upskirt video</a> GM allowed to be filmed -- this shows the full monty.<br /><br />Here's the quick-and-dirty rundown.<br />
<ul>
    <li>7-spoke wheels</li>
    <li>RS stripe package (left side of the car)</li>
    <li>SS stripe package (right side of the car)</li>
    <li>Grille insert</li>
    <li>Rear fascia blackout</li>
    <li>Platform-style rear wing</li>
    <li>Fuel filler cap</li>
    <li>2 possible ground effects kits (see <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723876/">close-up of the rear</a> -- at that point, the clay modeling is "halved")</li>
    <li>Ducktail spoiler (again, see <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723876/">detail shot</a> -- it's on the right half of the car)</li>
    <li>Slotted brake discs w/ red calipers</li>
</ul>
Whatever the final assortment of accessories turns out to be, it would seem that there'll be a very wide selection from which to choose. As for the 5-spoke wheels shown in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/723878/">two</a> of the photos, they look 'shopped on. Whether those are GM photoshops or fan mods is anyone's guess. We're definitely feeling that RS package, though -- with those black 7-spokes, please. Keep that wing, though.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro">GM Accessories for Chevy Camaro</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/gm-accessories-for-chevy-camaro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/accessory2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3425">Camaro5</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/28/chevy-camaro-accessory-photos-drip-online/">Chevy Camaro accessory photos drip online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 28 Mar 2008 10:02:00 EST. This '67 Camaro SS 396 was purchased for $800 back in 1986 and it's been a personal project of Flickr member BinCali ever since. It was wasting away in a car port that BinCali passed on his way to work every day until that fateful day twenty years ago when he struck up a conversation with the owner that lead to the title transfer. In the 20 years BinCali has owned the Camaro, he's stripped it down to "every last nut bolt," performing all the work on it himself except the paint. The 396 motor actually displaces 402ci now, while BinCali has worked to restore other items of the car, like the interior and the exhaust, to their original factory specs. As if the Camaro weren't enough to impress this crowd, the car in the background is an ultra rare right-hand drive 1971 Holden Monaro GTS, one of about five in the United States. It makes us wonder what else is in BinCali's garage.<br /><br />Follow the jump for more pics and BinCali's complete list of mods.<br /><br /><em>This week we're choosing a <span style="font-weight: bold;">Camaro</span> each day for the <span style="font-weight: bold;">RR of the Day</span> feature, and we need everyone who owns a Camaro to submit his or her ride. We want to make sure all five days are filled with interesting F-bodies, and to do that we need a great group of them from which to choose. At the moment, it looks like we might not be able to fill the week, so help us do just that by submitting your Camaro or encouraging your friends to submit theirs. Just follow the jump to find instructions on how to submit your ride.</em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/24/rr-of-the-day-1967-chevy-camaro-ss-396/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RR of the Day: 1967 Chevy Camaro SS 396</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/24/rr-of-the-day-1967-chevy-camaro-ss-396/">RR of the Day: 1967 Chevy Camaro SS 396</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 24 Oct 2006 09:59:00 EST.
