Toyota is working with satellite-television provider DirecTV on hyper-targeting TV advertising for the automaker's RAV4 electric vehicle in an effort to more efficiently boost sales for the limited-volume model, Bloomberg News reports. According to an article at All Cars Electric, a number of Chevy Volt owners who regularly charge up their cars using standard 120v outlets and the included charging cable have noticed that the cable is getting hot and becoming discolored. One owner even reported a cable growing hot enough to cause a 2nd-degree burn. GM is reportedly making replacement cables available to owners whose cables become cracked or brittle.

CNBC will air an hour-long program this Wednesday on the brand behind the roundel called "BMW: A Driving Obsession," which the news channel bills as "the fascinating story behind a once small, struggling company that transformed itself into a global luxury car powerhouse." The four featured highlights will take looks at BMW World, art cars, the BMW tech center and Rolls-Royce.

According to the Colonial arm of Top Gear's website, the U.S. version of everyone's favorite motoring show has been passed up by NBC. The report doesn't go into any detail about why the Peacock people said, "Thanks. But no thanks" to the show, but the BBC is supposedly actively pursuing a cable network to air the series.
