<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Porsche 911 C4S vs the Porsche Cayenne Turbo around Millbrook - Click above to view the video <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/07/15/video-pits-porsche-911-4s-against-cayenne-turbo/#continued">after the jump</a></small></strong></em></div>
<br />
According to the Porsche, the 4,784-pound, 500-horsepower Porsche Cayenne Turbo gets from zero to sixty in 4.4 seconds. The 3,219-pound, 385-hp 911 Carrera 4S with PDK takes 4.3 seconds to run the same distance. With such remarkably close acceleration times, <em>Autocar</em> wanted to see if the Cayenne Turbo could hang with the 911 around Millbrook's 1.39-kilometer Outer Handling Circuit. The answer: A lot better than expected. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/07/15/video-pits-porsche-911-4s-against-cayenne-turbo/#continued">Follow the jump</a> to watch Steve Sutcliffe run both Porsches ragged.<span style="font-style: italic;"> </span><em>Top tip, Steve!</em><br />

Porsche has followed up the debut of its freshened 997 rear-wheel-drive range with the introductions of the all-wheel-drive 2009 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S. Visually, the C4 and C4S are immediately distinguishable from their 2WD counterparts via the red reflector strip spanning the width between the taillamps. That's a nice touch that brings back some fond memories of the 911s of our youth. The C4's rear bodywork is also wider than that of the 2WD cars. Up front, you'll find the same schnoz introduced a couple of weeks ago. <br /> <br /> As with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/06/officially-official-2009-porsche-911-gets-direct-injection-and/">Carrera and Carrera S</a>, the C4 range also gets the new, direct-injected engines and the optional seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) twin-clutch gearbox. Power is up, and so is efficiency, while emissions output goes down. The Carrera 4's 3.6L flat six makes a stout 345 horses, and the step-up Carrera 4S pumps out 385 ponies from its 3.8. It's not just the engine and tranny that are new -- the previous car's all-wheel-drive system has now been replaced by Porsche Traction Management, which trickles down to the C4 from the mighty 911 Turbo. Want to scoff at lousy weather <em>and </em>still drive a 911? Come October (in Europe) your new ride will be waiting.<br /> <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s">2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/09_997carrera4_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/09_997carrera4_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/09_997carrera4_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/09_997carrera4_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-porsche-911-carrera-4-and-carrera-4s/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/09_997carrera4_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Porsche]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/25/porsche-unveils-2009-911-carrera-4-and-4s/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Porsche unveils 2009 911 Carrera 4 and 4S</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/25/porsche-unveils-2009-911-carrera-4-and-4s/">Porsche unveils 2009 911 Carrera 4 and 4S</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 25 Jun 2008 08:00:00 EST. TechArt has produced a power kit for the cars that adds 15 horsepower and increased throttle response regardless of whether you're driving a 3.6L Carrera 4 or the 3.8L C4S.<br /><br />Naturally, they encourage you to also take the opportunity to complememt the power kit with one of their stainless exhaust systems and suspension upgrades. And since you're going through the trouble to dial in the handling and give your C4 a little extra punch, you may as well take it the rest of the way and add the visual juice you only get with TechArt's aero mods. Those include a choice of front end treatments, side skirts, fixed rear spoiler, a restyled rear bumper, and their signature Formula wheels. Inside, they'll trim out your car however you like.<br /><br />No matter how you cut it, it's going to be nasty, and your neighbor's stock Carrera is going to look totally pedestrian next to it.<br /><br />(Gallery, press release after the jump)<br /><br />[Source: TechArt]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/01/techart-997-carrera-4-and-4s-cabrios/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TechArt's 997 Carrera 4 and 4S</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/01/techart-997-carrera-4-and-4s-cabrios/">TechArt's 997 Carrera 4 and 4S</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 01 Dec 2006 15:32:00 EST.
