<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/citroen/">Citro&euml;</a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/citroen/">n</a> took advantage of this week's election of a new Pope to promote its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/clean diesel/">clean diesel</a> initiatives. The advertisement in the video below shows one determined Citro&euml;n engineer as he climbs atop the Vatican to take care of a pesky black smoke problem. After he works his magic, the famous chimney starts puffing out white smoke instead. We would think a clean diesel would yield no smoke at all, but hey, that's just us. We will say the opportunistic commercial is at least good for a chuckle. You can check it out in the ad <a href="/2013/03/14/citroen-helped-speed-up-the-pope-selection-process-a-bit/#continued">below</a>.<br />
<br />
The French automaker unveiled a number of vehicles at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva Motor Show</a> earlier this month, including the updated <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/07/2013-citroen-c3-geneva-2013/">2013 C3</a> shown below. The five door can be had with a spate of engine options, including at least four clean diesel options with power ranging from 70 to 115 ponies.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/14/citroen-helped-speed-up-the-pope-selection-process-a-bit/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Citroën helped speed up the Pope selection process a bit</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/14/citroen-helped-speed-up-the-pope-selection-process-a-bit/">Citroën helped speed up the Pope selection process a bit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 14 Mar 2013 11:01:00 EST. <br />
As promised, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/25/citroen-prepping-updated-c3-for-geneva/">Citro&euml;n has brought along its new C3</a> to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva</a> this year, with high hopes that the hatchback will be a strong competitor versus the hegemony of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/volkswagen/golf/">Golf</a> in the European compact market. (And a worsening market, at that.)<br />
<br />
The C3's gigantic windshield is still in place for the 2013 model year, though revisions to the grille, LED running lamps, taillights and front/rear fascias can be seen. Engine choices now include two three-cylinder gasoline engines, in 68- and 82-horsepower flavors, as well as a 120-hp, 1.6-liter four-cylinder. A very Gallic selection of four diesel motors is also on tap, with outputs ranging from 70 to 115 horsepower. UK buyers will see the new C3 in dealerships starting this summer.<br />
<br />
Citro&euml;n's full press release for the updated C3 can be found <a href="/2013/03/07/2013-citroen-c3-geneva-2013/#continued">below</a>, and our live images from Geneva are in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2013-citro-n-c3-geneva-2013/">the attached gallery</a>. You'll also find the official C3 debut video, <a href="/2013/03/07/2013-citroen-c3-geneva-2013/#continued">just below</a>.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/07/2013-citroen-c3-geneva-2013/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Citroën C3 is updated for hatchback battling in 2013 [w/video]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/07/2013-citroen-c3-geneva-2013/">Citroën C3 is updated for hatchback battling in 2013 [w/video]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 07 Mar 2013 08:30:00 EST. <br />
The <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/c3">Citro&euml;n C3</a> gets a facelift and a premiere at the <a href="http://autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show">Geneva Motor Show</a> next month. Visually, the little hatch with the mammoth "Zenith" windscreen has been reworked with a grille sporting less chrome, LED running lights and sleeker chevron logos. At the rear are new taillight clusters, reflectors under the rear bumpers and the option of a reversing camera. Ink Blue gets added to the exterior color palette.<br />
<br />
The cabin gets three colors of optional dashboard strips to match the new upholstery, an optional integrated air freshener and white backlighting in the dash cluster.<br />
<br />
Engines choices get an overhaul, too, a pair of three-cylinder PureTech gasoline engines providing more power for less fuel consumption. The 1.0-liter VTi produces 68 horsepower, the 1.2-liter VTi outputs 82 hp and a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter VTi makes 120 hp. Four diesels remain on the menu, the HDi 70 and HDi 90 alongside the diesel hybrid e-HDi 70 and e-HDi 115.<br />
<br />
The new <a href="http://autoblog.com/category/citroen">Citro&euml;n</a> C3 will go on sale this summer in the UK. There's a press release <a href="/2013/02/25/citroen-prepping-updated-c3-for-geneva/#continued">below</a> with more information to get you geared up.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/25/citroen-prepping-updated-c3-for-geneva/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Citroën prepping updated C3 for Geneva</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/25/citroen-prepping-updated-c3-for-geneva/">Citroën prepping updated C3 for Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2013 10:15:00 EST. <br />
Following <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/01/13/2014-chevrolet-corvette-c7-stingray-everything-there-is-to-know/">yesterday's introduction</a> of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/chevrolet/corvette/">C7 Corvette</a> that shows the car's future, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/chevrolet/">Chevrolet</a> has released a slew of images celebrating 60 years of the car's past. First introduced in 1953, the Corvette has evolved into a global sports car that is likely to be the star of this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/detroit-auto-show/">Detroit Auto Show</a>.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gm/">General Motors</a> has dug into its photo vault to give us a look at the Corvette starting with the C1 Corvette from 1953 right through the most powerful 'Vette ever, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/chevrolet/zr1/">C6 ZR1</a>. Be sure to check out the gallery of classic Corvettes, and then check out our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/01/13/2014-chevrolet-corvette-c7-stingray-everything-there-is-to-know/">coverage of the new C7</a>. General Motors has also supplied a press release posted <a href="/2013/01/13/celebrate-60-years-of-corvette-by-checking-out-these-historical/#continued">after the jump</a> to give more information about each generation of the iconic coupe.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/01/14/celebrate-60-years-of-corvette-by-checking-out-these-historical/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Celebrate 60 years of Corvette by checking out these historical images</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2013/01/14/celebrate-60-years-of-corvette-by-checking-out-these-historical/">Celebrate 60 years of Corvette by checking out these historical images</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 14 Jan 2013 08:54:00 EST. <br />
Some may look at a utilitarian vehicle like the Citro&euml;n <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/10/paris-preview-citroen-c3-picasso-unveiled-ahead-of-show/">C3 Picasso</a> and wonder why bother sprucing it up, but <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/citroen/">Citro&euml;n</a> begs to differ. After launching the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/03/citroen-launches-updated-c3-picasso-with-special-blackcherry-edi/">Blackcherry edition</a> just over a year ago, the French automaker has returned with the new Code edition you see here.<br />
<br />
Available in white, red, blue or grey, the C3 Picasso Code packs a host of visual enhancements that inject the little minivan with an added dose of style: things like white or red-trimmed 17-inch alloys, chrome insets on the bumper and door handles, glossy black bumpers and door mirrors and more. All that costs just &pound;300 more (in the UK) over the base C3 Picasso equipped with the same fuel-efficient 90-horsepower diesel engine and manual transmission. Follow the jump for the full press release.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/07/citroen-turns-utility-into-style-with-new-c3-picasso-code/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Citroen turns utility into style with new C3 Picasso Code</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/07/citroen-turns-utility-into-style-with-new-c3-picasso-code/">Citroen turns utility into style with new C3 Picasso Code</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 07 Jan 2012 10:01:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/citroen">Citro&euml;</a>n has inadvertently given back-seat drivers a powerful weapon. Well, not so much back-seat drivers... but the person in shotgun has the ability to bring everything to a screeching halt. Front-seat passengers are able to engage the brakes of the C3 Picasso.<br />
<br />
How you ask?<br />
<br />
No, not by grabbing the emergency brake. The Citro&euml;n C3 Picasso is offered in both right and left-hand drive configurations. When converting to right-hand drive, the left-hand drive brake components were left in place behind the footwell. If the passenger pushes in the right spot, he or she will activate the brakes. Not good.<br />
<br />
Citro&euml;n is recalling approximately 20,000 vehicles to investigate this matter. However, the automaker has stated that is the first they've heard of the issue, which was revealed in a <em>BBC News</em> segment. <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13447395">Head over to BBC News</a> for a video that demonstrates the C3 Picasso's braking issue.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/05/19/citroen-c3-picasso-recalled-for-ability-to-brake-from-passenger/">Citroën C3 Picasso recalled for ability to brake from passenger seat</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 19 May 2011 15:31:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/citroen">Citro&euml;n</a> has announced a spate of updates to its compact <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/10/paris-preview-citroen-c3-picasso-unveiled-ahead-of-show/">C3 Picasso</a> mini-minivan, as well as a new special edition to highlight the changes.<br />
<br />
Across the range, the C3 Picasso's engines have been upgraded for increased fuel efficiency and compliance with the latest Euro 5 regulations. A new 110-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo-diesel has also been introduced, while low rolling resistance Michelin Energy Saver tires are fitted as standard equipment across the entire lineup.<br />
<br />
Representing the updated Picasso is the new Blackcherry edition, based on the VTR+ model and packing the aforementioned HDi diesel engine. The special edition is distinguished by its black paint scheme with red accents, color-keyed roof rails and 17-inch alloys. Normally optional extras like air conditioning, cruise control and USB/Bluetooth connectivity are featured as standard equipment on the Blackcherry, as well. Full details are available in the press release <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/03/citroen-launches-updated-c3-picasso-with-special-blackcherry-edi/#continued">after the jump</a>.<br />

<div align="center"><strong><em><small>Click above for high-res gallery of C3R renderings</small></em></strong><br /></div>
<br />While it can be argued that the current Corvette is the best ever built, there are those who would say the <a href="http://autos.aol.com/cars-Chevrolet-Corvette-2009/overview">C6</a> is, well, homogenized. Safe. Boring, even, at least in the looks department. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.c3retro.com/">Christian Cyrulewski</a> would be among those who are visually disinterested in the current Corvette. But instead of grousing about it over a beer or six with the local Corvette club, he's taken matters into his own hands and come up with the <a href="http://www.c3retro.com/">C3R</a>. In his words, that stands for "third-generation retro Corvette based on the sixth-generation (C6) platform." <br /><br />Christian's <a href="http://www.c3retro.com/">website</a> is short on details but rife with renderings of a curvaceous custom Corvette based on the latest platform out of Bowling Green. Top Speed says Christian plans to cruise the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/WoodwardDreamCruise/">Woodward Dream Cruise</a> next year in a C3R prototype, and if there's enough interest, could offer a kit version of the car. Like your retro-styled muscle cars with actual muscle? Top Speed says Christian also plans a 427-powered version of the kit complete with side pipes. No word yet on pricing, availability, or, heck, validity of the C3R, but we'll keep ya posted.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r">Rendered Speculation: The Corvette C3R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/c3r_renders_110608---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/c3r_renders_110608---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/c3r_renders_110608---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/c3r_renders_110608---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/c3r_renders_110608---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/c3r-corvette-stingray-by-christian-cyrulewski-ar66586.html">Top Speed</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/07/rendered-speculation-the-corvette-c3r/">Rendered Speculation: C6-based retro Corvette C3R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 07 Nov 2008 11:26:00 EST. I'm talking about the new Citro&euml;n C3 Pluriel Latte, a special edition of the company's droptop minicar.<br /><br />It's differentiated from other Pluriels by its creamy Ivory paint color and dark grey and cream-colored two-tone leather interior. The rub strips and roof arches are finished in an aliminum look instead of the standard black.<br /><br />Like all C3 Pluriels, the Latte's power sliding soft top adds a great deal of versatility. When fully closed, the car is a hatchback. It can also be opened three-quarters of the way to make a panoramic roof or rolled back completely to create a full open-top experience. Removing the side rails turns it into a traditional-looking convertible, as seen above. The <a href="http://www.citroen.co.uk/Level2/flashpage.asp?pagetype=pluriel">C3 minisite</a> has nice flash demos of the roof mechanism in action. In addition to all the regular standard equipment, the Pluriel Latte also gets A/C and electric folding mirrors as part of its special edition trim package.<br /><br />The Latte is powered by a gasoline-sipping <a href="http://www.citroen.co.uk/level4/technicalSpecification.asp?pagetype=Pluriel&amp;style=&amp;infoID=12">1.4L four-cylinder</a> that generates 75 horsepower and gets <a href="http://www.citroen.co.uk/level4/technicalSpecification.asp?pagetype=Pluriel&amp;style=&amp;infoID=13">41.5 miles per gallon</a> in combined usage. You can read up on the rest of the car's tech specs at the <a href="http://www.citroen.co.uk/level3/modelpage.asp?pagetype=pluriel">Citro&euml;n UK site</a>. <br /><br />With its rich color combination, the Latte makes a nice addition to the C3 Pluriel lineup.
