The 4007 is homely-looking, but the Citro&euml;n's visual transformation fares much better. In the UK, it appears to have connected with Citro&euml;n dealers, who have bought up the full 2007 allotment of the cars.<br /><br />If car buyers show the same level of confidence in the French-branded SUVs as the dealers have shown in stocking up on them, it could pave the way for more interesting vehicles out of the Franco-Japanese joint venture. Industry resource <em>Just-Auto</em> reports that one possibility could be a Peugeot/Citro&euml;n-branded "lifestyle pick-up" based on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/05/mitsubishi-provides-mitch-mobiles-to-uk/">Mitsubishi L200</a>, which has seen some success in the UK market already. The idea would be to leverage Mitsubishi's 4WD expertise to offer something very different from PSA's traditional passenger vehicle lineup. The C-Crosser and 4007 are the automaker's first SUVs.<br /><br />[Source: Just-Auto - sub. req'd]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/">Citroen C-Crosser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/02/citroen-c-crosser-could-lead-to-more-french-branded-mitsu-sourc/">Citroën C-Crosser could lead to more French-branded, Mitsu-sourced 4WDs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 02 Jul 2007 18:31:00 EST. Since the show's begun, however, we're able to add more. A joint effort between Citro&euml;n and the Espera Sbarro School, the Cruise Crosser is a vehicle designed to traverse harsh terrain with ease. Presumably, the vehicle's first and second axles can operate in a 4x4 mode (not an unreasonable expectation, since the new C-Crosser SUV is the basis for this show car). When the going gets rough, the electrically-powered third axle can be engaged to help get the Crosser out of trouble. That electric motor can also be used as the Crosser's <em>sole</em> propulsion source, giving the rig a true zero-emissions electric-only mode. <br /><br />Normal motivation comes courtesy of a diesel-electric hybrid drivertrain of unknown displacement and power, but it can't be a slouch if it has to move this thing around. The interior (for which Citro&euml;n provided no photos...thanks, guys) features orange trim and mesh-pattern leather seats in the first two rows. The folding 3rd row from the C-Crosser source vehicle is in there as well, but the interior is really of secondary importance. This is an eye-popping, cool-as-all-get-out show car that really brings out the kid in us. Seriously -- a massive orange six-wheeled pickup truck? Our inner 8-year-old is going bonkers right now.<br /><br />[Source: Citro&euml;n]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/">Citroen Cruise Crosser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/cruisecrosser_hi_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/cruisecrosser_hi_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/cruisecrosser_hi_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/cruisecrosser_hi_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-cruise-crosser-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/cruisecrosser_hi_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/08/geneva-motor-show-citroens-six-wheeled-beast-the-cruise-cros/">Geneva Motor Show: Citroen's six-wheeled beast - the Cruise Crosser</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 08 Mar 2007 07:26:00 EST. Say hello to the Peugeot 4007, which will make its debut in Geneva with its sibling, the Citro&euml;n C-Crosser. Like we said, the two are interchangeable, so that means each gets everything their source vehicle, the Mitsubishi Outlander, offers. Like the Citro&euml;n, the new Pug is powered by a 2.2L HDi diesel putting forth 160 hp (156 hp EEC).<br /><br />Unlike the Citroen, the Peugeot is saddled with a face only a mother could love. The giant mouthlike grille with its pronounced vertical elements looks like it'd be more appropriate on a plankton-slurping baleen whale than an SUV. Also, note the added grillework behind the little hood-mounted lion badge. Suffice to say that we're generally unmoved by the styling up front. You can check it (and the rest of the car) out in detail via the attached gallery.<br /><br />An interesting aside on the name: The "00" names are reserved for Peugeot vehicles that are different and/or original, and outside the standard model range. The only other Peugeot that falls into this category is the nifty, sliding-doored <a href="http://www.1007.peugeot.co.uk/home.asp">1007 city car</a>. <br /><br />[Source: Peugeot]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/">Peugeot 4007</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/4007_hi_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/4007_hi_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/4007_hi_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/4007_hi_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/peugeot-4007/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/4007_hi_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><strong> Related items:</strong><br />

As such, more info and imagery is starting to flow from France. Of the two PSA Peugeot Citroen versions of the Mitsu, we like the appearance of the Citroen a lot more than its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/euro-spec-mitsubishi-outlander-peugeot-4007-and-citroen-c-crosser/138026/">Peugeot stablemate</a>. The pronounced chevrons are a lot easier on the eyes than Peugeot's "gaping maw" front-end look.<br /><br />In terms of features, it's got essentially everything you can get on the Outlander. Also worth noting is that the Citro&euml;n offers a backup camera that will display the view behind the SUV on the nav screen -- a practical feature whose omission on the US car is curious, to say the least. We're sure it'll come if there's a demand for it stateside.<br /><br />The launch engine, co-developed with Ford, is a 2.2L HDi diesel with particulate filter producing 160 horsepower (156HP EEC) and 280 lb-ft of torque. It can handle up to 30% biodiesel, is mated to a six-speed manual tranny, and fuel economy is a respectable 32.2 mpg in the combined cycle. New photos inside and out are available in the gallery below.<br /><br />[Source: Citroen]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/">Citroen C-Crosser</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/citroen-c-crosser/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/c-crosser_hi_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/citroen-releases-more-info-photos-on-c-crosser/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Attack of the Clones: New Citroën C-Crosser photos, info</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/09/citroen-releases-more-info-photos-on-c-crosser/">Attack of the Clones: New Citroën C-Crosser photos, info</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 09 Feb 2007 15:29:00 EST.
