Many great names have come and gone in the world of hot rods, but few could match that of the late Boyd Coddington. Although the legendary gearhead has passed on, that doesn't mean his name will die. That is, not if his three sons have anything to say about it. Chris, Gregg and Boyd Jr. have come together to establish Sons of Boyd LLC, a company dedicated to preserving their father's name and legacy.
We just got word that world-renowned car customizer, Boyd Coddington died this morning around 6 am. Although we don't have any details on what caused Coddington's death, we do know that he was in and out of the hospital over the past month. A spokesperson for the Coddington Corporation confirmed his passing earlier today and they'll be releasing a statement soon.
Back in February, Jeremy provided some great coverage of our visit to SVS Power in suburban Chicago to check out the remarkable performance that can be achieved from engines running on ethanol. This weekend legendary hot rod builder Boyd Coddington will be unveiling his latest creation at the ESA East Coast Scholastic Surfing Championships at Bethune Park in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
