<br />Our official coverage of the <a href="http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/arsefreezeapalooza/">24 Hours of LeMons Arse-Freeze-Apalooza at Thunderhill</a> has started, but we couldn't wait to show you what could be the absolute coolest bit of low-cost technology that will be showcased at the event: the hillbilly wing. This stunning bit of kit will be vying for the coveted "Most Dangerous Banned F1 Technology" trophy, and we think they're a shoe-in. Actuated by a bowling ball, the hillbilly wing is made from an abandoned ironing board, some electrical conduit and a bit of rope. Genius. Now, how long will it last?<br /><br />The Faster Farms Chickens' 1966-7 Plymouth Belvedere was made to resemble the car used in the <a href="http://www.thefosterimposters.com/">Foster Imposters skits</a>, and they have done a pretty good job emulating their target. When Foster Farms found out about the car, they issued a press release detailing the effort -- something that warms our cockles in our ridiculously litigious society. See the PR and the video after the break.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5117945/what-does-a-race-belvedere-need-most-bowling-ball+actuated-active-aerodynamics">Jalopnik</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/27/active-aerodynamics-coolest-lemons-technology-evar/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Active Aerodynamics: Coolest LeMons technology EVAR?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/27/active-aerodynamics-coolest-lemons-technology-evar/">Active Aerodynamics: Coolest LeMons technology EVAR?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 27 Dec 2008 15:01:00 EST. <p>Across the street from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/03/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/">National Corvette Museum</a> is the Bowling Green Assembly Plant. Located in the green wilds of central-southern Kentucky, it proudly proclaims itself "Home of the Corvette and XLR." Fifty thousand tourists tread the green painted walkway of the factory tour every year to see how that American icon, the Corvette, is made. It is the only place in the world where Corvettes and XLRs are created. Follow the jump to read about the plant and see the pics from our recent factory tour. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/">Tour of Corvette's Bowling Green Assembly Plant</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/bowling-green-factory---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/bowling-green-factory---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/bowling-green-factory---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/bowling-green-factory---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/tour-of-corvettes-bowling-green-assembly-plant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/bowling-green-factory---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/08/a-tour-of-gms-bowling-green-assembly-plant/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A tour of GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/08/a-tour-of-gms-bowling-green-assembly-plant/">A tour of GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 08 May 2007 11:51:00 EST. <p>April 26-28, 2007, hundreds of Corvette owners flocked to the <a href="http://www.corvettemuseum.com/">National Corvette Museum</a> in Bowling Green Kentucky. The occasion was the C5-C6 Bash, a festival celebrating the latest two versions of the American sports car that started it all. Corvette-ifosi were also there to witness the unveiling of the 2008 Corvette and register their approval or approbation. When not ogling the new car or any of the hundreds of other souped up Corvettes that made the journey, Bash-goers could wander the halls and pay homage to Zora Arkus-Duntov's remains, which are kept behind glass in a wall in the museum. And that's only the beginning. <br /></p>
<p>Click through the jump to read the story and do yourself a favor by viewing the high-res gallery, which as good a guided tour as your're going to get without visiting the National Corvette Museum yourself.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/">The National Corvette Museum and C5-C6 Bash</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/ncm1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/ncm10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/ncm11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/ncm12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/ncm13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/03/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The National Corvette Museum and C5-C6 Bash</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/03/the-national-corvette-museum-and-c5-c6-bash/">The National Corvette Museum and C5-C6 Bash</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 03 May 2007 10:02:00 EST.
