The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour was run at Mt. Panorama this weekend, and race photographer and friend-of-Autoblog Joel Strickland sent us more than 100 photos of the action. The inspirations for just about every racing-derived exotic sports car was there, the top seven finishers coming from seven different makes, from Nissan to Lamborghini to McLaren.

Eric Bana joins the field of the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour race next month, driving for the Australian FXD Workwear team. Bana's done the race twice before, coming in tenth overall in 2009 in his Love the Beast Mitsubishi Lancer RS Evo X, posting a DNF in the same car in 2010.
For the last two years, Audi has won what's called "The ultimate Aussie endurance race," the Bathurst 12-Hour event at Mt. Panorama, reverentially known as "The Mountain." Audi has yet another race trophy to place in its awards cabinet after claiming the overall victory at the Bathurst 12 Hour race in Australia this past weekend for the second straight year. The win was achieved by the Phoenix Racing team, which also campaigns an Audi in Germany's DTM series.

Awesome race, great movie, viva la France and all that, but let's be honest. Le Mans has become so concerned with something called "safety" that they chicaned the Mulsanne Straight! As any fan of the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe will tell you, "Boo!"
