<div align="center"><strong><em><strong><small>The SEAT Bocanegra - Click above for a high-res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></strong></div>
<strong> <br /></strong>SEAT has morphed the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/02/heavy-breathing-seat-ibiza-bocanegra-reportedly-gets-the-go-ahe/">Bocanegra Concept</a> into a production-ready car and stayed largely true to the concept. The car isn't something completely new - it's more of an option package fitted to the Cupra. As such, the aesthetic differences don't serve any additional purpose - the flanking front grille vents are closed, for instance -- but that's not necessarily a crime when the car still looks pretty good.<br /><br />Outside, in addition to that new grille and 17-inch Sira alloys (which have nothing on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/seat-bocanegra-concept/675271/">concept's rims</a>), a pair of fog lights graces the front bumper and AP brake calipers brace the front rotors. The engine is the Cupra's 1.4 TSI in 150-hp or 180-hp flavors. Inside the Blackmouth, the rhomboid-stitched seat centers remain from the Geneva show car's, with much milder (and probably more comfortable) bolsters. Gloss black trim, aluminum pedals, and lots of letter "B"s grace the cabin. The car will be offered in a red called "Dakota" and a white called "Candy" and be available later this year.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/">Barcelona 2009: Seat Ibiza Bocanegra</a></strong></p><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bocanegra-en-vivo-1280-9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bocanegra-en-vivo-1280-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bocanegra-en-vivo-1280-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bocanegra-en-vivo-1280-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/barcelona-2009-seat-ibiza-bocanegra/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bocanegra-en-vivo-1280-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/">SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra</a></strong></p><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/17245_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/17249_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/17252_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/17255_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://es.autoblog.com/photos/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-2/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/es.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/17258_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/2009/05/07/barcelona-2009-seat-bocanegra-en-primera-persona/">Autoblog Spanish</a>]<strong><br /></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/08/seat-ibiza-bocanegra-unveiled-in-barcelona/">Seat Ibiza Bocanegra unveiled in Barcelona</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 08 May 2009 12:59:00 EST. Most major news occurs at the major auto shows, but this year, our absence will be missed at one less auto show than last year, because organizers have announced the cancellation the Barcelona Motor Show.<br /><br />Following reduced participation in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Detroit-Auto-Show/">Detroit Auto Show</a>, several automakers - including General Motors, Peugeot, Citroen, and Nissan - announced they would not be participating. The decision came as a result of plummeting new car sales in Spain, which dropped a staggering 28.1% last year, and could fall as much as 23% again this year. With major automakers dropping out of the show like flies, Spain's national auto manufacturers association, ANFAC, decided to cancel. Since the country's only annual show alternates between Barcelona and Madrid, that means there will be no major show at all in Spain this year. This year the show was to celebrate its 90th anniversary.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090128/ANE02/901289959/1193">Automotive News Europe</a> - subs. req'd]<br /><br /><strong>*UPDATE:</strong> Our man in Spain, <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/">AB Espa&ntilde;ol</a> contributor Guille Alfonsin has chimed in to let us know that he believes the Barcelona show may not be dead yet. He has just phoned their press department and was told that the show will "open its doors with or without the ANFAC brands (SEAT, Renault, Nissan, PSA, and others)."Further, Alfonsin notes that the governor of Catalunya has just gone on record saying that he plans to "meet with ANFAC members to persuade/convince/threaten them to take part on the show."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/30/muy-triste-barcelona-motor-show-scrapped-for-2009/">¡Muy Triste! But the company isn't just into two-wheeled conveyances. When they unveiled their bike at the Barcelona Motor Show, they also debuted their next foray into extreme machines: the SR08.<br /><br />The firm's new supercar is being developed to campaign in the FIA GT1 series, with a limited run of 10 vehicles to reach homologation requirements. The carbon fiber monocoque stretches over 16 feet long and about three and a half feet tall, and gets motivation courtesy of a 500 HP V10 mounted amidships. Carbon ceramic brakes, with 380 mm discs and six-piston calipers, put the kibosh on kinetic energy, while adjustable Ohlins ensure that body roll is kept to an absolute minimum.<br /><br />With a power to weight ratio of 4.85 lbs./hp, the SR08 can theoretically reach 60 in under three and a half seconds, and on to a top speed of 300 km/h.<br /><br />Renderings of the SunRed SR08 are available in the gallery and you can check out some live shots by following the "Read" link below.<br /><br />[Source: Omni Auto via <a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/news/concept-cars/spain%e2%80%99s-sunred-sr08-supercar/">MotorAuthority</a>]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/">SunRed SR08</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/sunred_sr08_0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/sunred_sr08_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/sunred_sr08_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/sunred_sr08_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sunred-sr08/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/06/sunred_sr08_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/28/sunred-sr08-spains-supercar-attempt/">Sunred SR08: Spain's supercar attempt</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 28 Jun 2007 13:56:00 EST. Despite the fancy name, it's mechanically identical to the existing Focus 2.0 TDCi. The 136-horsepower WRC-S is limited to 666 units, each of which sports the Focus ST's bodywork, is painted white, and wears the graphics package you see above, combining a checkered-flag motif, the WRC logo, and each car's serial number. 10-spoke 18" wheels round out the external features.<br /><br />Inside, the black seats are trimmed with Alcantara and feature white piping and contrast stitching. Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, and a leather-wrapped wheel are also standard, and each car is signed by BP-Ford World Rally Team driver Marcus Gr&ouml;nholm, which certainly adds some interest and collector's appeal to what is otherwise an appearance package. The price is set at &euro;23,895.<br /><br />[Sources: Autoblog Spanish &amp; <a href="http://www.km77.com/00/ford/focus/wrc-s/t01.asp">km77.com</a>]<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/08/barcelona-motor-show-spain-only-ford-focus-wrc-s/">Barcelona Motor Show: Spain-only Ford Focus WRC-S</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 08 Jun 2007 09:35:00 EST.
