New livery for Corvette Racing C6R revealed

Yellow and black, it's a classic combination. It can convey speed yet spur people to make cautious moves. After all, Wasps are yellow and black, and if you're not careful, you'll regret denying them deference. Bad Boy Vettes has been delivering stings on the racetrack with its C6R, and the car gets a revised livery for 2008. The main color is Velocity Yellow, with lots of BadBoy Black accents. A blacked out tail panel returns, reprising the BlackTail descriptor, and there's a new "scrape stripe" based on the teeth of mascot skull Jake. The headlights also get a blackout treatment; all the better for intimidating the competition. Obsidian also graces the rockers, and it shouldn't be hard to spot the new C6Rs with this color scheme as they compete wheel-to-blacked-out-wheel in the upcoming ALMS season.

C6R with Bad Boy Vettes Livery Revealed

We have been tracking the progress of Bad Boy Vette's new livery for the C6R in its final race of the ALMS season with great anticipation. The finished product was finally revealed last night at a pre-race party in Monterey hosted by BBV. The new graphics look downright menacing, with the "Take No Prisoners" skull featured prominently on the hood and sides. A handful of photos have been posted on the web site, and hopefully more are to come. Both C6Rs will hit the track at Laguna Seca today for practice sessions, and they can be seen live on Speed TV on Saturday, October 20 at 2:30pm PDT. Now if only there were some other GT1 contenders to scare off...

Bad Boy Vettes C6.R in progress...

On Wednesday, we told you that the Corvette Racing C6.Rs would be sporting a new Bad Boy Vettes livery for the ALMS finale at Laguna Seca next weekend. Yesterday, BBV shot us a few pics of the #4 car in progress, and no surprise -- we like what we see. The final product will be unveiled at a big shindig on Wednesday, and when the cars ultimately take to the track, they'll look as every bit as menacing as they sound. Skulls on race cars are like, totally underrated. The little Michelin man on the front fender just wet himself out of fear.

Break out the Krylon: Bad Boy Vettes designing C6.R livery for season-ender at Laguna Seca

Some websites have a lot of pull. Take BadBoyVettes.com, for example. Dedicated to covering and rooting for Corvette Racing, this band of supporters has already achieved a great deal. The Bad Boy Vettes skull logo serves as Corvette Racing's unofficial mascot, and it has adorned the race cars' b-pillars since the 2005 24 Hours of Le Mans. That in itself is cool beyond description, but it's nothing compared to what the BBV crew got Corvette Racing to agree to for the final round of the ALMS at Laguna Seca the weekend of October 20.

Bad Boy Vettes has convinced Corvette Racing to let it design the race livery for the pair of C6.Rs that weekend. The #4 car will be revealed at a party on October 17th, and in the image above, you can catch a glimpse of the paint scheme under the spray cans. As if the C6.Rs weren't badass enough to begin with, now they're going to be adorned with giant skulls. Evil FTW!

Conversely, at Autoblog Decentralized World Headquarters, we have had no say whatsoever in the paint scheme of the LeMons entry Damon's preparing.

Bad Boy Vettes put you on the hood of the C6.R at Le Mans

On-car cam -- C^.R at le mans

Stuff like this is why we love the Internet. The fellas at Bad Boy Vettes sure know how to give Le Mans a "YOU ARE THERE" feeling for those of us not fortunate enough to be jetting overseas for the annual 24-hour showdown.

BBV, calling in-car cameras "passe," taped their trusty Canon PowerShot digicam to the hood of one of the yellow C6.Rs as it lapped the circuit Wednesday with Ron Fellows behind the wheel. In addition to being great footage, the roar of the race-spec 7.0-liter V8 is captured in all its sonic glory. Click here to watch (and hear) it for yourselves. If you'll excuse us, we have to go recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing "God Bless America" right now...
