The Australian government (still my favorite national government green car advocates for their "Drive Less" campaign) is pushing to get Australian carmakers to build some hybrid cars. The parliamentary secretary to the Environment Minister, Greg Hunt, said last week that Australia needs to catch up to the rest of the world in hybrid technology to stay competitive and to help the environment.
There's a biodiesel plant coming up in Barnawartha, Australia that will make up to 60 million liters of biodiesel a year once it gets rolling next June. Before that, though, it's going to need some senior staff. The $30 million (Australian) plant is being built by Biodiesel Producers, and engineering and operations manager Henry Jung said the plant looks like "the Autocad drawings come to life".
