<br />
The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/cts-v-coupe">Cadillac CTS-V Coupe</a> has some serious performance chops. The potent angular coupe is loaded with a blown 6.2-liter V8 capable of 556-horsepower, 15-inch front and 14.7-inch rear Brembo brakes and a Magnetic Ride Control suspension setup. Impressive stats to be sure, but does Cadillac's sleek two-seater have the goods to take on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/m3">BMW M3 coupe</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/s5">Audi RS5</a>? <br />
<br />
Both <em>Motor Trend</em> and <em>Car and Driver</em> have obviously been pondering the same question, as the competing buff mags dusted off their camcorders and cut up a pair of comparison videos featuring the three super coupes doing a <em>m&eacute;nage &agrave; trois </em>of the automotive kind. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/07/30/video-double-bill-c-d-and-mt-pit-cadillac-cts-v-coupe/#continued">Make the jump</a> to experience both videos. In the first video, MT goes all-out with its comparison, bringing both Editor-in-Chief Angus McKenzie and the spanking new CTS-V Coupe to Germany to take on the pair of well-established Bavarian competitors. The second video shows the unique C/D approach, with no first, second or third place finishers and not a single word is uttered. C/D just let the hot coupes speak for themselves with beautiful pictures and heavenly exhaust notes.<br />

<br />
The clever wrenches at the German tuning powerhouse <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/27/mtm-supercharges-the-audi-s5/">MTM</a> have gotten a hold of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a> RS5. Always ones to turn fast faster, the group claims to have squeezed the car's top speed to 188 mph. But instead of focusing on pulling even more horsepower from the already staggering 4.2-liter V8, the company simply upped the factory speed limiter to allow for a more potent v-max. MTM will politely ask for a check for $1,429 (at current conversion rates) for the upgrade, which isn't exactly pocket change. According to MTM, the car still produces 450 horsepower, though the company will be happy to supply you with a new free-breathing exhaust system that just might turn an extra pony or two loose. <br />
<br />
In addition to the lofty top speed, MTM has rolled out a hefty selection of wheels just for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/01/rumormill-audi-rs5-headed-for-the-states/">RS5</a>. We're guessing a new set of tires will probably be in order if you plan on bumping up against that new 188 mph top end, too. Eventually, the company plans to roll out a complete suspension for the car. And here's hoping they come up with some equally competent brakes in the process.<br />

<br />
The on-again/off-again rumors about whether or not Americans will get to sample the hotter-than-hot <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/rs5">Audi RS5 Coupe</a> end now - the automaker has officially stated that the coupe will hit the States sometime in 2012. Yes, that's a bit later <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/22/report-audi-rs5-to-arrive-stateside-by-sept-2011-again/">than what had originally been speculated</a>, but we're still stoked that <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi</a> has decided to include us on the RS5 goodness. No mechanical changes will be made to the coupe before it launches in the U.S., so the high-revving 450-horsepower V8 will still be intact. Awesome.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-r8-5-2-fsi-spyder/"><img vspace="4" hspace="0" border="0" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/07/r80900502.jpg" class="right border" alt="" /></a>But in the meantime, we have lots of other Audi hotness hitting the streets, including the sexy <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/r8+spyder">R8 Spyder</a>, which goes on sale next month. Audi has officially priced the topless R8 from $161,000 (not including the $1,250 destination charge) for six-speed manual models. If you want the six-speed R-tronic manu-matic (and you don't), be prepared to shell out an additional ... wait for it ... $9,000. Just stick with the manual - trust us on this one.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Audi RS5 Shooting Brake - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
We just spent the last few days bouncing around Germany <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/14/2011-audi-tt-first-drive/">driving the 2011 Audi TT</a> and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/07/2011-audi-q7-gets-three-new-v6s-eight-speed-transmission-in-ger/">powertrain-enhanced Q7</a> (review next week), and between bouts on the autobahn and a few factory tours, we pestered our hosts about some of their Euro-only products and what we can expect in the future.<br />
<br />
We dropped a few not-so-subtle hints in an attempt to score some seat time in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/RS6/">RS6</a> (denied) and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/15/2010-audi-tt-rs-quick-spin/">TT RS</a> (achieved, and yes, it's awesome), but the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/officially-official-audi-rs5-hitting-geneva-with-450-hp-4-2l-v/">RS5</a> was something we were aching to drive. Unfortunately, we were short on time and didn't get a crack at the 450-hp coupe, but on more than one occasion we mentioned that a shooting brake version would be the bee's knees. As you'd expect, that's probably not gonna happen, but the rendering wizard <a href="http://TheophilusChin.com">Theophilus Chin</a> has answered our prayers in digital form.<br />
<br />
Chin, who mocked up the three-door for a Photoshop contest, took some inspiration from past Audi coupes - including the GT - to create a two-door fastback version of the RS5 that's loaded with win. The sloping roofline matches perfectly to the RS5's widened haunches, and while the roof rails wouldn't have been our first choice, we dig how they tie into the brushed aluminum front splitter, rear diffuser, side mirrors and five-spoke wheels. Too bad it probably won't happen, but there's a good chance those of us in the States will get a crack at the standard two-door RS5 in 2012.<br />

<br />
Hot-rod <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/audi">Audis</a> get your blood boiling? Can't argue with the Audi RS5, then. Take one of the most <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/s5">lithe coupe forms</a> you can buy, pack it with the 4.2 FSI V8 found in the base <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/r8">R8</a>, back it with an S Tronic gearbox and lay the power down with Quattro all-wheel-drive. Sounds tasty. The biggest problem with the RS5 right now is that you can't get one.<br />
<br />
Dreamers and Germans (and dreamy Germans) can have some fun with Audi's website and set up a Deutschland-spec RS5 just the way they'd like to buy it. A trip to the Konfigurator is a multifaceted gift, too. Not only will you get to gaze at pictures of the RS5 and select from its available options, you also get to learn what Kraftsoffverbrauch kombiniert means. The only thing better would be having the actual car in your driveway.<br />
<br />
<strong>*Note:</strong> You may need to select the RS5 under the Model page at the bottom left.<br />

<br />
With European deliveries set to begin in just a couple of months, reports indicate that the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/audi+rs5/">Audi RS5</a> will, in the end, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/01/rumormill-audi-rs5-headed-for-the-states/">make it to the North American market</a>, 444-horsepower V8 and all. But it could take a little while.<br />
<br />
The first RS5s will begin arriving in customers' hands in Germany this coming June with a sticker price pegged at &euro;65,300, representing a 32.4 percent price hike over the existing <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/s5">S5</a> coupe. Inside Line calculates that translates to about $88k by straight conversion, but applied to the U.S. market price for the S5, the 32.4% increase comes out closer to $69,500. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi</a>, however, doesn't anticipate selling many of the super-coupes Stateside, and is therefore planning on bringing every RS5 over fully equipped, with the sport differential, Dynamic Ride Control system and Boysen sport exhaust. <br />
<br />
So equipped, sources peg the American price for a loaded RS5 at around $75,000. But Audi reportedly warns not to start counting the days just yet, as first North American deliveries likely won't begin before August or September 2011.<br />

<br />
Good news, Quattroheads: <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi</a> has just unloaded a boatload of new images of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/officially-official-audi-rs5-hitting-geneva-with-450-hp-4-2l-v/">RS5</a> coupe in red, white and blue doing its thing all over some beautiful roads in Europe. We feel the need to point out where these shots were snapped simply because the German automaker has not yet announced any plans to bring its ubercoupe Stateside. And we therefore shed a tear.<br />
<br />
Then again, maybe there's hope after all - <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/01/rumormill-audi-rs5-headed-for-the-states/">we <em>have</em> heard rumors</a> that Audi was at least considering blessing us Americans with the RS5... though nothing substantiated by any other reliable sources. In any case, it's always a good time to gaze upon 4.2 wonderful liters of naturally aspirated goodness with 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque sent to all four wheels, right? Right. So go ahead and click through the high-res image gallery below.<br />

<br />
It's been a little while since anything with an RS badge came our way from Ingolstadt, but it if you believe the whispers floating around the Web these days, there may be hope for a U.S.-spec <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a> RS5 just yet. <em>Automobile</em> is reporting that the company is seriously mulling bringing the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/s5">S5's</a> meaner brother to our neck of the woods. <br />
<br />
The Kingdom of Quattro pulled the sheets off of the sinister coupe at this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva Motor Show</a>, and our jaws have been on the floor ever since. Under the hood sits a tweaked 4.2-liter V8 with 450 horsepower at the crank. The mill is bolted to none other than the Audi Quattro all-wheel drive system, complete with a new torque-vectoring rear diff.<br />
<br />
<em>Automobile</em> hasn't gone so far as to name a source for the rumors, which leads us to take this one with a Q7-sized grain of salt. Still, if it were true, we may have our sticky paws on an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/09/video-promolicious-clips-of-the-audi-rs5-meeting-its-ur-quattro/">RS5</a> by summer 2012, right around the same time the refreshed A5 is scheduled to hit the U.S. Keep your fingers crossed and your hopes down.<br />

In what is currently raw footage but what will soon undoubtedly be slickly produced promotional material, the brutalicious <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2011+audi+rs5/">2011 Audi RS5</a> growls around a track and on various European roads. For a brief spell it even shares the screen with one of its spiritual brethren, the Ur Quattro. <br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>2011 Audi RS5 - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
The one thing on our minds as <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a> unveiled the RS5 here in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva</a> is whether or not the car will come to the United States. We can't get a definitive answer from the German automaker, and although we're guessing the chances are fairly slim, we were told not to completely rule it out. Audi has listed the base price of the car only in Euros (77,000), but we'll hold on to hope until Audi officially states the car won't be sold across the pond.<br />
<br />
Why do we want the RS5 in the U.S. so bad? For starters, it's got a 450 horsepower version of Audi's tried and true 4.2-liter V8 paired to the legendary Quattro AWD. Combine that with perhaps the best looking coupe designs on the market today and you've got one heck of an appealing sports car. Hit the jump for the newly released press release or check out our live photos in the high-res gallery below.<br />

Episode #167 of the Autoblog Podcast is a fine quartet of Chris Shunk, Sam Abuelsamid, Chris Paukert and Dan Roth. We breeze through the Autoblog Garage, filled with a snow-tired Camaro, a pair of Audi cabrios and a Kia Forte Koup, before hitting the news. <br />
<br />
Audi's updated <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/officially-official-audi-rs5-hitting-geneva-with-450-hp-4-2l-v/">RS5</a>, with a clear-voiced 4.2-liter V8 is up first, followed by the want-it-now <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/bmw-confirms-5-series-touring-reveal-for-leipzig/">BMW 5 Series Touring</a>. We're not done with Europe yet, kicking around the <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/video-the-mercedes-f800-from-every-angle/">Mercedes-Benz F800</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/19/200-hp-citroen-ds3-racing-confirmed-for-geneva/">Citro&euml;n DS3 Racing</a> before heading across La Manche to check out the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/geneva-preview-lotus-provides-a-peak-at-proton-city-car-concept/">Lotus Proton PHEV</a> and then discuss <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/new-york-preview-kia-teases-magentis-aka-optima-midsize-sedan/">Kia's Magentis</a> renderings. Wrapping it up, we surmise what Chrysler's purported refreshes might turn out to be and talk about the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/report-toyota-bragged-about-saving-100m-with-limited-recall/">overwhelming crush</a> of <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/abc-news-expert-says-electronic-design-flaw-to-blame-in-runaway/">Toyota recall</a> and Congressional hearing news before taking some questions and calling it a night. <br />

<br />
Over the weekend, we got our first look at official images of the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi RS5</a> when <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/20/leakage-alert-audi-rs5-brochure-images-surface-ahead-of-geneva/">a brochure leaked out</a> onto the interwebs, but it didn't contain any technical details of the latest product from Quattro GmbH. Thankfully, our friends in Ingolstadt have seen fit to drop that information on us this morning, and as we suspected, they have opted to go with an upgraded version of the engine that served so well in the late <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/rs4">RS4</a>. <br />
<br />
The 4.2-liter V8 remains naturally aspirated, but its breathing has been improved to bring the maximum output up to 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The power peak comes up at 8,250 rpm, just shy of the 8,300 rpm redline, and maximum torque is delivered throughout the range between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The RS5 comes out the factory with the ability to accelerate to 62 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds on the way to a governed top speed of 155 mph. Owners that wish to exceed that speed can have the governor unlocked, enabling a terminal velocity of 174 mph. <br />
<br />
As usual with higher performance Audi models, Quattro all-wheel-drive is the order of the day for power distribution. However, unlike other recent applications that have used a Torsen center differential, the RS5 features the first use of a new crown gear differential with electronically controlled clutch pack. The torque split can be varied from the nominal 40:60 front-to-rear to as much as 70 percent front or 85 percent rear. An optional active torque vectoring rear differential is also available to further improve the RS5's handling. The only available gearbox in the RS5 is a new seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission (DCT). Hopefully now that Audi has a high-output DCT, we'll also see it replace the dreadful R-Tronic unit in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/r8">R8</a> soon. <br />
<br />
The RS5 will get its public debut in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva</a> next week and goes on sale in Europe this spring for a base price of &euro;77,000 (about $104,000). Sadly, U.S. Audi spokesman Christian Bokich tells Autoblog that there is nothing to announce right now about plans for the RS5 in this market. <br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>2011 Audi RS5 - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> The next &uuml;ber-model from <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi's</a> Quattro GmbH division won't officially debut in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva</a> for another week, but images from its brochure have already made their way onto the web. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/s5">Audi RS5</a> coupe will no doubt take the performance of Audi's B8 platform to levels beyond the much-loved and departed <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/rs4">RS4</a>. What we don't know at this point is how high that level will go, and what the motive power will be. <br /> <br /> It's probably safe to assume it'll fall somewhere between the 420 horsepower of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AudiRS4/">Audi RS4</a> and the 571 hp of the current <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AudiRS6/">Audi RS6</a>. Since the V10 used the R8 and RS6 isn't really in keeping with Audi's current engine-downsizing philosophy (not to mention that the 10-cylinder probably wouldn't fir into the smaller A5's engine bay), perhaps we'll a turbo or supercharged version of the 4.2-liter V8 in the current S5, or a maybe even a more severely amplified version of the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 from the S4. Either way, we can't wait to get our hands on the RS5. <em>A tip of the hat to Liam!</em><br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images">Audi RS5 leaked brochure images</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/audi-rs5-brochure-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/audi-rs5-brochure-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/audi-rs5-brochure-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/audi-rs5-brochure-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure-images/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/audi-rs5-brochure-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.ausmotive.com/2010/02/21/audi-rs5-leaked-brochure.html">AUSmotive.com</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/20/leakage-alert-audi-rs5-brochure-images-surface-ahead-of-geneva/">Leakage alert: Audi RS5 brochure images surface ahead of Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 20 Feb 2010 10:39:00 EST. While it's a development prototype, the RS5 mule snapped during lucky-dog brake testing duty in the Alps strikes us as the perfect look for a topped-out Audi two-door built for high speed strafing. When a car is coated in matte black and backs it up with 400-plus horsepower of engine, it means business, and the RS5's stock in trade will be all-wheel drive enabled speed. <br /><br />If Audi really wants its new coupe variant to be tough, we propose sending a mule or two out for torture at the hands of automotive journalists. <em>Thanks for the tip, Julio!</em><br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.nextautos.com/spy-shots-audi-rs5-spied-testing-alps?gid=15483&amp;nid=40717#gallery-15483">Next Autos</a>]<br /> <br />

The 1985 Audi Quattro was a beast of a car in its day, even if it only had 160 horsepower. When the new Audi S5 hit the roads, the Ingolstadt fanatics over at <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/27/retro-comparo-fourtitude-puts-s5-against-ur-quattro/"><em>Fourtitude</em> stacked the two of them up against each other</a>, but if the latest products of the ever-churning rumormill are to be believed, Audi may be cooking one up a successor of their own.<br /><br />A report from German car magazine <em>Autobild</em> suggests that the lightweight sport-coupe could carry the "A5 quattro sport" designation and pack a 425-horsepower V6, placing it in between the current S5 and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/11/rumormill-audi-rs5-to-get-4-2-liter-v8-from-rs4/">upcoming RS5</a>. Sounds enticing, if a bit far-fetched. But if Audi wants to build another monster coupe, who are we to complain? Sources peg the revival to take to the streets by 2012.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autobild.de/artikel/auto-bild-16-2009_887826.html">Autobild</a> via <a href="http://germancarscene.com/2009/04/17/audis-ur-quattro-to-be-reborn/">German Car Scene</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/20/rendered-speculation-audi-to-resurrect-ur-quattro-with-lightwei/">Rendered Speculation: Audi to resurrect Ur-Quattro with lightweight twin-turbo A5?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 14:40:00 EST. Now that the TT-RS is out in the open, the next assignment is the RS5. Given that the recently-introduced S4 features Audi's new, supercharged 3.0-liter V6, it might have been expected that the RS5 would get a higher output version of that engine. Another option might have been the 5.2-liter V10 that does service in the S6 and S8. Instead, it appears that a revised version of the 4.2-liter V8 from the last-generation RS4 will find its way into the coupe. In RS5 trim, the V8 is expected to crank out 450 hp with a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed S-Tronic gearboxes. In true Audi form, all the wheels will get driven all the time. <br /><br />If the RS5 does indeed come to the party with a 450 hp V8 it may truly be a sign that the German horsepower wars are winding down. With CO2 limits coming to the EU, it was bound to happen sooner or later.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://rumors.automobilemag.com/6514196/news/report-audi-rs5-to-use-42-liter-v-8-7-speed-dsg/index.html">Automobile</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/11/rumormill-audi-rs5-to-get-4-2-liter-v8-from-rs4/">Rumormill: Audi RS5 to get 4.2-liter V8 from RS4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 11 Apr 2009 11:07:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>2010 Audi RS5 - Click above for a high-res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The 2010 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AudiRS5/">Audi RS5</a> has reappeared at the Nurburgring and these newest images give us the best glimpse yet of the production version of the 500 hp coupe. The standard RS fascia <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/spy-shots-audi-tt-rs-and-rs5-caught-testing/">we've seen before</a> is still present, but it's joined by a beefier rear bumper, RS-specific dual oval exhaust outlets and slightly flared fenders. The brakes have grown in proportion to the wheels, filling the inside of the 20-inch lightweight rollers with a minimal amount of clearance, while inside, a set of aftermarket Recaros have been fitted for prototype duty.<br /><br />Details on the RS5's powertrain are still unknown, but after a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/19/video-audi-rs5-at-the-nurburgring-is-bose-thats-german-for/">spy video surfaced</a> last year, the accompanying soundtrack hinted at a V10 powerplant. We suspect Audi will adapt the RS6's twin-turbocharged, 580 hp 5.2-liter V10 for duty in the RS5, although it's likely to be de-tuned for the coupe. If we were a betting blog, we'd wager the 2010 Audi RS5 is due to be revealed at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/FrankfurtMotorShow/">Frankfurt Motor Show</a> in September.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5">Spy Shots: 2010 Audi RS5</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/01-audi-rs5-wing-ring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/02-audi-rs5-wing-ring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/03-audi-rs5-wing-ring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/04-audi-rs5-wing-ring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/05-audi-rs5-wing-ring_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/30/spy-shots-2010-audi-rs5-spied-one-more-time-at-the-ring/">Spy Shots: 2010 Audi RS5 spied one more time at the 'Ring</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 30 Mar 2009 12:00:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2010 Audi TT RS</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Audi's PR department has continued to toe the line that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/03/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/">TT RS</a> is not meant for Stateside consumption. However, <em>MotorTrend</em>'s unnamed Audi insiders are saying the 335-hp coupe will make it to the U.S., albeit several months after its European introduction.<br /><br />According to the report, Audi USA has decided to delay the introduction of the hottest TT so the new 265-hp TT S can gain traction in the U.S. - or more accurately, before the RS variant steals the show. But that's not all we have to look forward to.<br /><br />The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/RS5/">RS5</a> is still in the pipeline and <em>MT</em> pegs output of the 2+2 at around 500 hp, with a rear-bias Quattro system and a torque-vectoring rear differential joining upgraded brakes and a suitably aggressive body kit. We've already seen <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/spy-shots-audi-tt-rs-and-rs5-caught-testing/">spy shots of the RS5</a> making runs around the 'Ring with its Bauhaus sibling, although there's still considerable debate about what lies under the hood, particularly after a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/19/video-audi-rs5-at-the-nurburgring-is-bose-thats-german-for/">video surfaced of the RS5 taking hot-laps around the Nordschleife</a>.<br /><br />While we're still suitably cautious about the TT RS' future in the States, Audi is <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-new-audi-a4-allroad-debuts-reportedly-may-come-to/">considering bringing over the A4 Allroad</a> - a model that was originally developed for our friends abroad - so there may be hope left for some more RS love in the U.S.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs">Geneva 2009: 2010 Audi TT RS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-audi-ttrs-live-geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-audi-ttrs-live-geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-audi-ttrs-live-geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-audi-ttrs-live-geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-2010-audi-tt-rs/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-audi-ttrs-live-geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots">Audi RS5 - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr1.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr3.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr4.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr5.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2009/112_0903_audi_tt_rs_rs_5_headed_to_us/index.html">MotorTrend</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/09/rumormill-audi-tt-rs-rs5-coming-stateside/">Rumormill: Audi TT RS, RS5 coming Stateside</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 09 Mar 2009 20:01:00 EST. <br />Audi's RS engines have never failed to deliver aurally. They don't even require you to wring them out -- just turn them on, and your ears and body cavities tingle with the sound and resonance. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/spy-shots-audi-tt-rs-and-rs5-caught-testing/">Audi RS5</a> will continue that tradition admirably, if this video of it running The 'Ring is any indication. Based on that note, unless they've tweaked the exhaust from the 4.2-liter V8, it sounds to us like there's a certain V10 lurking in that engine bay. And if that's the case, this car has just made the number one slot on our Every Day Audi wish list. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/20/video-audi-rs5-at-the-nurburgring-is-bose-thats-german-for/">Follow the jump for the symphony</a>. <em>Thanks for the tip, Mike!<br /><br /></em><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots">Audi RS5 - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr1.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr3.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr4.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr5.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/19/video-audi-rs5-at-the-nurburgring-is-bose-thats-german-for/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Audi RS5 at the Nurburgring is "böse" - that's German for "evil"</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/19/video-audi-rs5-at-the-nurburgring-is-bose-thats-german-for/">VIDEO: Audi RS5 at the Nurburgring is "böse" - that's German for "evil"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 19:31:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of Audi TT-RS spy shots</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />A pair of Audi RS performance cars have been caught testing and show what the German brand has planned for these ultimate examples of the TT and A5. The TT-RS was snapped in production ready form and shows off some serious design tweaks including two gaping intakes flanking the already gaping corporate Audi grille, chunky fender flares at all four corners and a pair of large oval exhaust tips embedded in the rear bumper. Powering the TT-RS is expected to be a twin-turbo 2.5L five-cylinder engine producing between 350 and 390 horsepower, which will easily make it the fastest production TT ever. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/1083138/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr3.kgp.ed_opt.jpg" alt="" /></a><br />
<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for high-res gallery of Audi RS5 spy shots</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The next car is the RS5, and less is known about this model since it was snapped wearing the guise of an S5. Caught on the Nurburgring in Germany, this RS5 mule is wearing an RS-inspired front end, but confuses the camera lens with its lacked of flared fenders and quad exhaust tips where one would expect an RS model's typical dual ovals. Still, there wouldn't be much of a reason for Audi to test the current S5 on the 'Ring, so what we're looking at must be an RS5 mule. What will power the RS5 is still speculation and could be either the 4.2L V8 from the RS4, a twin-turbo V8 or the Gallardo-based V10 from the RS6.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots">Audi TT-RS - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audittrs.rr1.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audittrs.rr2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audittrs.rr3.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audittrs.rr4.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-rs-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audittrs.rr5.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots">Audi RS5 - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr1.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr3.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr4.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-rs5-spy-shots/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/audirs5.mr5.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: KGP Photography]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/spy-shots-audi-tt-rs-and-rs5-caught-testing/">Spy Shots: Audi TT-RS and RS5 caught testing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 07 Oct 2008 12:01:00 EST.
