The Insignia is headed to North America as a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/08/video-2010-buick-lacrosse-inside-and-out/">Buick</a>, and enthusiasts everywhere hope the hotshot OPC version gets widely propagated. What's not likely to make any trans-Atlantic journeys is a wagon version of Opel's performance-enhanced sedan. Spy-shooters have nailed an Insignia OPC Sports Tourer running about uncamoflaged, and the wagon's got its sights trained on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/22/paris-2008-audi-s4-sedan-and-avant-333-hp-of-fun/">Audi's S4 Avant</a>. <br /><br />Built up from familiar General Motors pieces, the Insignia OPC Sports Tourer uses componentry we've seen before. The 2.8 liter turbocharged V6, six speed manual, and all wheel drive system with eLSD torque vectoring is a recipe cooked up by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/09/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-saab-turbo-x/">Saab Turbo X</a>, albeit Opel's version is spicier, with 325 horsepower on tap. Euro-flavored performance wagons are a delectable treat, but it doesn't look like the Insignia OPC Sports Tourer will be added to Buick's menu for North American automotive diners. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/05/opel-insignia-opc-in-sports-tourer-form.html">Carscoop</a>, Photo: Carscoop]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/17/spy-shots-opel-insignia-opc-sports-tourer-caught-naked/">Spy Shots: Opel Insignia OPC Sports Tourer caught naked</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 17 May 2009 16:45:00 EST. <br />What do you do with an old model when you've already replaced it with a newer one? Well, most automakers would simply trash it and move on. Not Volkswagen though. Instead of discarding the previous Audi A4, the bean-counters at VW Group corporate headquarters in Wolfsburg simply <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/27/new-seat-exeo-is-an-old-audi-a4/">passed it on</a> to another division: SEAT. In this case, the Spanish subsidiary that was lacking a flagship model.<br /><br />Called the Exeo, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/30/seat-prices-the-strike-old-audi-a4-strike-new-exeo/">sedan variant</a> already took its curtain call (we wouldn't quite call it a debut) at last year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/03/paris-2008-strike-previous-gen-audi-a4-strike-seat-exeo/">Paris Salon</a>, but since the A4 came in both four-door and Avant wagon forms, SEAT is now preparing to relaunch the Exeo wagon in Geneva. Called the Exeo Sport Tourer, it's pretty much exactly like the Exeo sedan, only with an extended roof. Engine options - including a 198 horsepower turbo four and common-rail turbodiesels in 141 and 168 hp flavors - will carry over. SEAT hasn't released photos just yet, but has given us a video, which we've placed <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/video-seat-exeo-sport-tourer-to-debut-in-geneva/">after the jump</a> - just in case you've forgotten what a badge-engineered, last-generation Audi A4 Avant looked like.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/2009/02/04/pre-salon-de-ginebra-seat-exeo-st-primer-video/">Autoblog Spanish</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/video-seat-exeo-sport-tourer-to-debut-in-geneva/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Seat Exeo Sport Tourer to debut in Geneva</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/video-seat-exeo-sport-tourer-to-debut-in-geneva/">VIDEO: Seat Exeo Sport Tourer to debut in Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 05 Feb 2009 18:19:00 EST. If you want the whole car, as is, it will cost you $2,500. If -- for reasons we can't fathom -- you want the car <em>without</em> the front bumper, it will cost you $2,350. If you want that same car, but don't want the wheels, well, that paperweight will cost you $2,000. Strike all three important components and the aftermarket stereo, and this fine piece of German engineering is yours for the bargain basement price of $1,300.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/953290/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/dscf1141_opt.jpg" alt="" /></a>The caption in the photo above is due to the fact that its owner, Ben, believes the car is "boss" and intimidates other basic transportation, like a Ford F-350. But don't make a play for it until you've seen the rear. Specifically, the plank of old growth timber that's posing as a bumper. According to that bumper, Ben's treasure is in heaven. Yours, according to Ben, is in Cincinnati. If you put $5 bucks in the tank, he'll let you test drive it, and if you swing by you can shake his hand. Now that's boss. <em>Thanks for the tip, Carlos!</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/">craigslist audi a4 avant 01</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a41_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a42_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a43_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a44_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/craigslist-audi-a4-avant-01/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/a45_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/car/776572833.html">craigslist</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/31/craigslist-find-of-the-day-slightly-used-audi-a4-avant-with-or/">Craigslist Find of the Day: "Boss" Audi A4 Avant</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 14:58:00 EST. So, when the premium brand from the Volkswagen group introduces a new version of its volume leader, it's a big deal. That's why Audi invited a contingent of American media over to Europe this week to play with the new A4 -- first on its home turf in Deutschland and then bombing around the Spanish resort island of Ibiza. The completely redesigned B7-platform A4 debuted in sedan form last September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, while the Avant wagon dropped last month in Geneva. <br /><br />As is typical for most German cars, European customers get a much wider array of powertrain choices than we Americans do. With the US dollar in free-fall against the Euro, brands like Audi have to cut costs in order to be able to sell their vehicles here at a competitive price point. A big part of that means simplifying the number of product combinations that get shipped over. That means US Audi dealers will get sedans with either a 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder or a 3.2L FSI V6. The wagons will only get the four banger. All models will use a new fast-shifting ZF six-speed autobox, and only the front-wheel-drive 2.0L will be available with a shift-it-yourself six-speed with a third pedal. The automatic will of course be equipped with paddle shifters for those inclined to pretend they are Dindo Cappello. Follow the jump to find out what's new about the latest A4 and what it's like to drive with some of the European engines that most Americans will never get to sample.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/">First Drive: 2009 Audi A4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/a4-ibiza-12801_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/a4-ibiza-12802_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/a4-ibiza-12803_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/a4-ibiza-128010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/a4-ibiza-128011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><strong>Photos Copyright (C)2008 Sam Abuelsamid / Weblogs, Inc.</strong><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/06/first-drive-2008-audi-a4-on-the-autobahn-and-in-ibiza/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First Drive: 2009 Audi A4 on the Autobahn and in Ibiza</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/06/first-drive-2008-audi-a4-on-the-autobahn-and-in-ibiza/">First Drive: 2009 Audi A4 on the Autobahn and in Ibiza</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 06 Apr 2008 20:12:00 EST. Audi's new 2009 A4 Avant has made its official North American debut at the New York Auto Show. The press release, after the break, introduces us to the newest 2.0 liter TFSI four cylinder engine, variants of which have won "Engine of the Year" trophies three times. Coming in at 211 horsepower along with 258 lb.-ft. of torque, the A4's base engine is reportedly capable of propelling the car to sixty in 6.5 seconds. <br /><br />The impressive output of Audi's new four-banger almost makes up for their decision not to offer the sedan's 3.2 liter FSI V6 in the Avant. That engine features the newest version of the patented Audi Valvelift Technology (AVS) and offers up 265 horsepower. Six-speed transmissions will be offered in both the A4 sedan and Avant -- no mention of Quattro systems or <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/14/audi-q5-getting-7-speed-dsg-porsche-variant-on-the-horizon-aga/">the new</a> 7-speed DSG. It seems like Audi's been <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/19/2009-audi-a4-avant-revealed-ahead-of-geneva/">holding back</a> the new A4 for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/11/frankfurt-2007-the-100-new-and-improved-audi-a4/">so long</a> that we can hardly believe that we'll see it in dealerships this October, but we'll continue to sate your appetites with <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/651274/">pictures</a> until then.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/">2009 Audi A4 Avant</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/">New Audi A4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/au002927_l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/au002928_l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/au002929_l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/au002930_l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-audi-a4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/10/au002931_l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Audi]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/25/2009-audi-a4-to-offer-new-2-0-tfsi-revised-3-2-fsi-v6/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2009 Audi A4 to offer new 2.0 TFSI, revised 3.2 FSI V6</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/25/2009-audi-a4-to-offer-new-2-0-tfsi-revised-3-2-fsi-v6/">2009 Audi A4 to offer new 2.0 TFSI, revised 3.2 FSI V6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 25 Mar 2008 08:33:00 EST. After showing off the new-for-<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/11/frankfurt-2007-the-100-new-and-improved-audi-a4/">2009 A4 in Frankfurt</a>, Audi has finally released the details about for its A4 Avant prior to its debut in Geneva next month.<br /><br />The estate version of the A4 is nearly identical to the sedan from the B-pillar forward, but now features 50-cubic feet of cargo capacity out back. An optional power liftgate is available and the load floor is reversible if you happen to be toting a set of used wheels in the trunk and the mat is coated in brake dust. Overall, the Avant gains about five inches in length, but is almost ten-percent lighter than the outgoing model.<br /><br />Although powerplant details are scarce, those of us in the States will be stuck with the 2.0-liter TFSI mill, while sedan buyers get a choice of either the four-cylinder or the 3.2-liter V6.<br /><br />We'll have more from the show floor next month, but in the meantime, check the gallery below for a handful of high-res shots and make the jump for Audi's press release.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/">2009 Audi A4 Avant</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-audi-a4-avant/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/02/09_audi_a4_avant_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/19/2009-audi-a4-avant-revealed-ahead-of-geneva/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2009 Audi A4 Avant revealed ahead of Geneva</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/19/2009-audi-a4-avant-revealed-ahead-of-geneva/">2009 Audi A4 Avant revealed ahead of Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 19 Feb 2008 19:19:00 EST.
