2013 cadillac ats

Cadillac is getting ready to launch into a segment of the automotive market that's already rife with serious competition. The upcoming Cadillac ATS will do battle with the likes of the Acura TL, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Simply put, it will need to be a very good car to gain the attention of those who shop in this segment.

To that end, General Motors appears to be doing an awful lot of evaluation testing with the ATS, making it that much easier for our spy photographers to catch the company's engineers testing the camo-clad prototype seen above. This particular brand of shape-masking is quite effective, and it's hard to pull out any solid hint of what's going on underneath. Still, we expect the angular source to resemble a baby CTS (which itself will grow in size) with a few tugs on the sheetmetal that the ATS can claim as its own.
