If you watched Conan O'Brien in his final days on NBC, you may have seen the Bugatti Veyron Mouse. Now feast your eyes on the Asus Lamborghini mouse.

A product of the same collaboration that has already turned out a series of laptop computers and external hard drives, the Asus WX Lamborghini Wireless Mouse packs Sant'Agata's famously edgy styling into a computer peripheral. It's available in white, yellow or black, packs a little tire for a scroll wheel and, of course, Lamborghini's often imitated (but never duplicated) logo perched prominently on top. It even sports a USB dongle that stows inside the mouse, has a range of 33 feet and is available for $80.

So why, you ask, would you need a Lamborghini mouse? Well aside from its trademark pinpoint precision and speedy maneuvering, if you've already got an Acer Ferrari laptop hooked up to a LaCie Porsche Design hard-drive on your Bugatti desk, you're not about to control it all with just any old mouse now, are you? Of course not.
Asus rolls out Lamborghini wireless mouse originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 07:28:00 EST.
Asus and Lamborghini have teamed up for yet another new round of computer products. The raging bull has supplied design touches to various Asus laptops over the past few years, and this marks the seventh generation of car/computer collaboration. Called the VX7 and inspired by the Murcielago, this Asus laptop features leather-lined palm-rests, a Lamborghini logo atop the clamshell lid and a set of Lambo-inspired taillights out back. Certainly the best part, no?

Available in Orange or Carbon Fiber, the VX7 utilizes a 2.0-GHz Intel Core processor and boasts 16GB of RAM, a Blu-Ray combo drive and a massive 1.5-TB of storage thanks to a dual hard-drive setup. Like any self-respecting machine carrying the Lamborghini badge, this bad boy won't come cheap - the pre-order asking price is €1,995. That's about $2,826 in U.S. currency for those of us sitting Stateside. Thanks for the tip, Pasi!

Things tend to get out of hand with Lamborghini. Whether you're driving one and just can't resist pushing the pedal to the floor, or buying one and end up laying down an extra five figures on options. The same goes for Lamborghini electronics, too. Sant'Agata teams up with Asus for that bit, and for better or worse, the Taiwanese computer company has given us some pretty flashy Raging Bull-adorned hardware as a result.

Of course, like a Lambo supercar, Asus' line of Lambo circuit-boxes don't come cheap. And now they've launched a suitably Lamborghini peripheral. Imbued with lines inspired by the company's sportscars, this external hard drive looks the part, and with available USB 3.0 connectivity, stands to live up to the promise of performance. Unfortunately the price tag is suitably Lambo-like as well: the starting price of $120 for a 500GB drive with the slower USB 2.0 connection makes it almost twice as expensive as an ordinary hard drive.

If you were playing a little word association, you might associate "Lamborghini" with "lap-dance", but Asus would rather consumers associate it with "laptop" instead. The Taiwanese computer company and the Italian exotic automaker are taking the wraps off their latest collaboration, the VX2, which as you might have guessed, follows the VX1 that launched this past August at the Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California.

Asus is keeping pretty tight-lipped on the specs, only revealing that the new model will ship with Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Vista, and will employ Intel's Centrino Duo Mobile processor. Otherwise they're focusing mainly on the fit and finish: like the VX1, it'll be available in either yellow or black, but the casing will be made of either an aluminum-magnesium alloy or carbon fiber (depending on the model), and will feature a metal keyboard and what looks to be a rather beautiful contrasting-topstitched leather palm-rest, just like the trim on the interior of a Lamborghini road car.

That's all we know for now, but we'll be sure to keep you posted after the Asus Lamborghini VX2 is officially unveiled when it will have to compete with Acer's equally stunning Ferrari laptop series.
