To celebrate 60 years at Newport Pagnell, Aston Martin Works is producing six different takes on the Aston Martin Vanquish in conjunction with personalization arm Q by Aston Martin, each themed to one of the previous six decades. The collectibles will come in coupe and convertible forms and wear exterior features that immediately identify them as anniversary cars, but their finest detail is in the cockpit: the metal for the console knob bezels will come from pistons taken out of six Aston Martin
Well, there's something to be said for timing. With the announcement that MI6 Agent James Bond would take the wheel of the all-new Aston Martin DB10 in his next film, Spectre, Xcar has taken a look back at 007's most iconic vehicle – the DB5. There's also something about some such special edition Vanquish, but it all kind of pales in the glory of the iconic DB5.
Arguably one of the most crucial operations of the second World War, Operation Mincemeat was a British disinformation mission responsible for misdirecting Axis forces towards Greece and Sardinia, and in turn, opening up the Italian island of Sicily. That led to the downfall of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and opened up the soft underbelly of Hitler's Third Reich.

Earlier this year, I spent the weekend with an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in a particularly interesting shade of green – the same car you see photographed here, for our First Drive. When it was dropped off, I remember just staring at it, taking in all of its lines, the curves, its pronounced hips – all the details. To say the Vanquish is a gorgeous car is a vast understatement. And here at the Paris Motor Show, the already classy range-topping Aston coupe dons an even more gorgeou
Aston Martin and tuxedos go together like gin and vermouth, but those looking for that extra degree of formality need look no further than the British automaker's Carbon editions. Aston has bestowed the blacked-out treatment on the Vantage, DB9 and DBS, and has now turned its attention to the flagship Vanquish.
Want an Aston Martin unlike any other on the road? You'll need to look to Q, and no, we're not talking about the inimitable Desmond Llewelyn. No, we're referring to Aston's in-house customization shop, a one-stop destination that can set your Vantage or Vanquish even further apart from every other vehicle on the road.
For such a small company, Aston Martin certainly keeps busy. Having already previewed its new V12 Vantage S Roadster ahead of its Pebble Beach unveiling, the British marque recently confirmed the arrival of a new Lagonda super sedan. But now it's turning its attention to its two flagship production models with a series of upgrades.
Aston Martin markets itself as offering the classy alternative to hardcore sports cars. Its vehicles are certainly capable, but they are also sold as offering an extra dose of luxury to go along with their power. The company is leaning hard into that image in a new short film called The Art of Vanquish.
Recently, a fellow editor at AOL asked me to choose "the most beautiful car on the road" for a story he was preparing. I was allowed to choose any vehicle, at any price, as long as it was a model currently in production and offered for sale. The well-oiled gears in my head only needed to turn about half a revolution before I had an answer: The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
For almost 20 years, luxury retailer Neiman Marcus has teamed up with an automaker to offer rare, limited edition automobiles in the pages its famous annual holiday catalogue. The vehicles have run the gamut over the years, but have slowly been eking up in price and exclusivity in the past few years. 2011 saw a Ferrari FF Neiman Marcus, while 2012's car was a McLaren 12C Spider. As we announced a few weeks back, the retailer's 2013 holiday car is the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
Want to see a bunch of awesome performance cars all in one place? Then check out this video of Car magazine's Sports Car Giant Test 2013, in which the UK publication's editors pit 11 of their favorite go-fast machines against one another. The candidates run the gamut of price points and makes, from affordable hot hatches like the Ford Fiesta ST to expensive exotics like the Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin Vanquish.
Aston Martin unveiled its droptop Vanquish Volante a couple months ago at Pebble Beach, and for 10 lucky souls, the high-performance convertible is going to be a hit this holiday season. Neiman Marcus just released its Christmas Book for 2013, and the car of choice for its annual catalog of high-end goods is none other than the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
All is not well in Gaydon, as Aston Martin has reported a 24.6-million pound ($39.3M USD) pre-tax loss, an increase from the previous year's 21.2-million pound – $33.9-million – loss. That, friends, is not good.
Perhaps you've already watched the World's Greatest Drag Race 3, and after doing so wished the background music and narrator Angus Mackenzie (and his hat) would disappear and let you enjoy the sound of 12 high-performance engines uncorked at the same time for a quarter mile. Well, the people at Motor Trend have granted your wish and published an unplugged version of the drag race. And the sounds the cars make - now that's music to our ears!
As part of Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition, the buff book has held its third iteration of the World's Greatest Drag Race. With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest. World's greatest drag race, indeed.
As one the featured automakers at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Aston Martin had a pretty big spotlight with which to reveal two production vehicles to the North American market. The 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante (shown above) made its global premiere in Monterey, while the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S (inset) made its debut on American soil.
Aston Martin is one of the featured marques at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. With events set for August 14 through 17 and the show itself on August 18, the British brand is going all out in showing its sleek, powerful GT cars to the throngs of well-heeled attendees.
Behold the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in all its convertible glory. Like its hard top twin, the convertible Vanquish boasts a 5.9-liter V12 engine with 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. That thrust is good enough to push the car to a top speed of 183 miles per hour, and Aston Martin says the 2014 Vanquish Volante is the first of the company's convertibles to bow with body panels comprised entirely of carbon fiber. It also offers the stiffest body structure in the history of th
The traditional gift, if someone has the longevity to celebrate a 100th anniversary of... well, anything, really, is a 10-carat diamond. In lieu of that, we're going to recommend one of these Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition machines. After all, it's nearly as sparkly as a diamond, and it's probably a fair bit cheaper than a 10-carat diamond that's got all four of its C's in proper order.
