The game of Formula One musical engine bays continues with the announcement that Williams F1 has signed a long-term deal to switch to Mercedes engines from 2014, bringing Williams' partnership with Renault to a close after just two years. Williams will get the 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 and KERS from Mercedes, but will use an in-house gearbox.

At the moment, that means four teams will have its engines supplied by Mercedes: its own team, Williams, Force India and McLaren, but at the end of 2014 McLaren will switch to Honda. Next year, Renault will be supplying Infiniti Red Bull, Toro Rosso has just agreed to switch to Renault from Ferrari, and Lotus and Caterham are expected to remain. Ferrari will have its team, for sure, but its deal with Sauber hasn't been confirmed. Marussia is the only team left and it is talking to both Mercedes and Ferrari about a deal for next year.

On the sidelines of the jockeying, McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh has called the 2014 regulations an "own goal" for the sport because of their expense - he believes the engineers were given such free reign that the development costs could be damaging to the budgets of the smaller teams. Next year's engines will need to go the distance with 220 pounds of fuel and a KERS that is ten times more powerful than the present unit.

The press release below has more on the Williams deal with AMG High Performance Powertrains.
Continue reading Williams F1 to run Mercedes engines next season

Williams F1 to run Mercedes engines next season originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 30 May 2013 18:31:00 EST.
Despite the fact that Mercedes-Benz seems to have AMG-ified nearly every model in its current lineup (not that we're complaining), it always seemed like sort of a misstep that this same treatment was never afforded to the E-Class Coupe (pictured). After all, Merc has created AMG versions of the E-Class in sedan and wagon form for some time now. For 2014, the revamped models are powered by the potent 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and fitted with 4Matic all-wheel drive.

According to BenzBoost.com, we aren't alone in our thoughts that omitting the E63 AMG Coupe was an error. "Seen from now, yes it was a mistake. At that time, AMG had a different strategy. Now they offer an AMG version in almost all the range," Mercedes-Benz product manager Gerd Junginger told the brand fan site.

Prior to the E-Class Coupe, Mercedes-Benz offered an AMG version of the old CLK coupe, even going so far as to create the ridiculously awesome CLK63 AMG Black Series. Unfortunately, Junginger believes it is too late in the product cycle for the E-Class coupe to get an AMG variant, what with the refreshed 2014 model about to launch.

"It's the perfect car to be an AMG. It almost looks like an AMG version as it is now. Next time we won't make the same mistake," said Junginger.
Exec admits Benz should have created an E63 AMG Coupe originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 29 May 2013 09:15:00 EST.
Daimler and Aston Martin have been "in discussions" over various matters going back at least five years, when an engine-supply deal from the Germans to the Brits turned into rumors of Daimler looking to buy a piece of Aston Martin. Neither the engines nor the company stake every changed hands, but three years later they were talking about trying a relationship again, this time in the large luxury sedan segment - Daimler would get help with Maybach, Aston Martin would get help with the Lagonda revival. That also came to nothing.

Late last year, when Investment Dar offloaded a share of its stake in Aston Martin to Anglo-Italian equity house Investindustrial, part of the allure was that Investindustrial said it would work to unite Aston Martin with technology and components from AMG. So the talks have begun again.

Although nothing's come of it yet, Bloomberg reports that the English and the Germans have opened dialogue "on supply and technical-cooperation agreements." In November 2012, Investindustrial mentioned getting engines, gearboxes and other technology from AMG - a brand it got to know when it owned Ducati. A tie-up would also help indie player Aston Martin rein in development costs. Daimler is said to be Investindustrial's preferred partner, but the latest chapter has only just begun. We're sure they hope it won't take another five years to get something closed with someone.
Daimler discussing collaboration with Aston Martin originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 09 May 2013 18:31:00 EST.
Mentioned at the debut of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class back in January, Mercedes has finally pulled back the curtain on the E63 AMG S, which was on display at the New York Auto Show in wagon guise. The 2014 E63 AMG S ups the ante even more from a "base" E63 AMG, improving the car's performance and styling - not that it needed help with either to begin with.

Our favorite S-model upgrade is the added output tweaked out of the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which represents a substantial gain of 27 hp and 59 lb-ft of torque over the stock E63. In wagon form, the E63 AMG S can run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. All 2014 E63 AMGs come with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, but the S-Model adds in a limited-slip rear differential for improved performance.

Mercedes has made sure that the extra money being spent on the S-Model is instantly noticeable with slightly different design cues and black along with 10-spoke wheels with red brake calipers peeking through. Plenty of silver-chrome and high-gloss black accents finish off the exterior styling, while the interior adds Alcantara on the steering wheel, accent stitching on the leather and contrasting silver seat belts on models with the black interior. Scroll down for an official video and press release.
Continue reading 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon is one hot hauler [w/video]

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon is one hot hauler [w/video] originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 28 Mar 2013 19:29:00 EST.
Remember when 100 horsepower per liter of displacement was a huge feat of automotive engineering? That sort of power density was the preserve of high-strung motorsports powerplants and a handful of street engines not long ago. Well, today Mercedes has introduced its 2014 CLA45 AMG, and it cranks out an astounding 355 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque from just 2.0 liters. That's 178 horses per liter on pump gas in the high-performance version of Mercedes' entry-level model here in the States. Mercedes calls it the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world, but we just call it awesome.

Of course, with that much turbocharged authority, it's no surprise that the racy four-door puts its power to the ground through a version of the automaker's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. This most-powerful version of the CLA-Class will run to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and nuzzle up against 155 mph before an electronic nanny spoils the fun.

To keep things under control, the A45 AMG receives a new four-link rear suspension and firmed-up components all around. There's even an active exhaust system similar to that of the SLK55 AMG, which Benz tells us sounds particularly excellent when the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is executing rev-matched upshifts and downshifts.

The CLA45 AMG is scheduled to hit US dealers in November wearing a starting price tag of $47,450 (plus $925 in destination fees). Our interest is piqued - is yours?
Let's get the necessaries out of the way. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG has debuted at the 2013 New York Auto Show, and it brought a 355-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder to the party. With 332 pound-feet of torque, Mercedes-Benz says the engine is the "most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder production engine" with a power density of 178 hp per liter.

All that muscle gets pushed to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. As a result, the 2014 CLA45 AMG can click off a 4.5-second 0-60 miles per hour run on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Giddyup.

And that's to say nothing of just how terminally sexy this machine is. While the base car is attractive enough, seeing a properly aggressive AMG front fascia, massive wheels and a proper ride height has done nothing but improve on the sedan's aesthetics.

AMG swapped the stock suspension for stiffer bits, including more rigid bearings and stiffer steering knuckles up front and an all-new four-link rear axle design. Interested? Mercedes says the CLA45 AMG will be on sale this spring for $47,450.

Mercedes-Benz sells seven different models of its flagship S-Class sedan in the States. Look past the entry-level S400 Hybrid (base price $93,000) and the standard V8-powered S550 models. The four-door at the pinnacle - squashing the amazing S63 AMG ($140,000) and twelve-cylinder S600 ($160,300) as it steps over them - is the bordering-on-preposterous twin-turbocharged twelve-cylinder S65 AMG seen here.

"Excessive" is an understatement, as the S65 AMG leaves little to want. Tucked up front is a hand-assembled 60-degree 6.0-liter V12, force-fed air by twin blowers to develop 621 horsepower and 738 pound feet of torque. All of the mind-blowing power is sent through a robust five-speed automatic to the rear wheels where it seems utterly unchallenged by the sedan's curb weight of 5,082 pounds - the four-door will bust through the benchmark 60 mph barrier in 4.2 seconds and pull all the way to its electronically limited top speed of 186 mph.

Few will ever have the opportunity to see an S65 AMG in the flesh, let alone spend an hour alone with one, so I leapt on the opportunity. Upgraded from the standard trim, this particular test car was an even scarcer bespoke "Designo" model, with exclusive matte paint, custom shades of soft leather and glossy piano black trim. Pricing, as they say, is available upon request.

Driving Notes

Despite its omnipotence, the S65 looks rather low-key and almost indistinguishable from its siblings. Observers will note the "V12 Biturbo" badging on each front quarter panel and the "S65" on the rear decklid. Those with really good eyes will catch the slight difference in the horizontal slats on the S65's front grille (three twin-parallel slats, upgraded from four thick bars). Most all of the other sporty cosmetic enhancements are shared with the S63 AMG.

It is impossible to defeat the traction control on the S65 AMG, meaning mile-long burnouts aren't going to happen. While acceleration off the line was dizzying, the real fun happened above 50 mph when the explosive power under the hood spooled to its full potential (it's a treat to watch the traction control light blink at highways speeds). An illegal coast-to-coast run at 150 mph would be joyful and effortless, but I would hate to foot the fuel bill (or pay the fines).

Of course, the S65 will never feel as nimble as smaller sedans, but its active suspension was more than competent through every series of curves I tossed it into. There is no getting around two-plus tons of mass, but the aggressive staggered tire package (255/35ZR20 and 275/35ZR20) provided plenty of grip at the limit. The unique twin sliding-caliper brakes fitted over cross-drilled rotors effortlessly bled off the speed with very good pedal feel. It is a very large and comfortable luxury sedan, yet it is still very entertaining to drive - much to my surprise.

Those who couldn't care less about the S65's mechanical brilliance will find plenty to soothe their souls inside the cabin, as the opulence of a standard S-Class sedan has been turned up a full revolution on the dial. Supple seat leather is stitched, quilted and perforated (heated and cooled too) and the trim is polished to a mirror-like finish. Passengers in the second row will find leg crossing room, power seats and video entertainment. The cabin smells even better than it looks. I can't wait to see how the next S-Class looks and feels inside.

As fabulous as the S65 AMG is, the enthusiast in me still prefers the S63 AMG. Its twin-turbo V8, exhibiting almost no turbo lag, is better suited to our stop-and-go congestion and restrictive speed limits in North America. It is slightly lighter, nearly every bit as luxurious, and it only gives up a tenth of a second in the 60 mph sprint. Plus, I can buy a new C63 AMG with the money I save.

So you didn't really think Dartz Motorz was going to let the limited-production, 544-horsepower Mercedes 6x6 G63 AMG go without a challenge, did you? Picking up the gauntlet as only Dartz can, the Russian dream-makers have come up with the Sahara G-eopard, supposedly a special request from a buyer to make one of the 'standard' six-wheelers "more opulent and insane."

That means the vehicle from the factory gets extended by about a foot (30 centimeters), coach doors in the rear, a "yacht floor" and air conditioning that runs on its own power source, Asanti 24-inch Gold Bullion wheels and a water dispenser with Russian diamonds, which the owner will need to fill the golden shishas (hookahs) in the portable smoking room. That's right, you heard the man: a portable smoking room. Where the occupants will retire when they're finished in the portable dining room. Of course.

Yes, it will even have leopard spotting painted onto its nano-coating, and so much more. You can check out the press release below from the source.
Mercedes-Benz hosted us in Miami a several weeks ago to get more acquainted with its latest cooperative adventure - a partnership with Cigarette Racing to build an all-electric racing boat. While we posted on the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept after its worldwide introduction at the Miami Boat Show, its automotive-based technology is innovative enough to warrant a closer look.

Cigarette Racing has been building some of the world's finest high-performance boats - and racing them to victory - since the late 1960s. With more than four decades of experience under its decks, there might not be another boatmaker that offers a range combining this much military, yachting, aerospace and boat-building technologies. Cigarettes are hideously expensive, but they appeal to those seeking watercraft that are fast, uncompromising and exclusive. It goes without saying that they occupy rare waters - the highlighter-yellow boat seen above even more so than most.
Continue reading A closer look at the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept

A closer look at the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept originally appeared on Autoblog on Sun, 17 Mar 2013 20:00:00 EST.
The recent Geneva Motor Show was a festival of hypercars, with the presence of not one, but three over-the-top debuts: the Lamborghini Veneno, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LeFerrari. The latter two have hitched their carbon fiber bumpers to the electrification bandwagon by using hybrid-electric powertrains not entirely unlike the propulsion systems we've come to know in cars like the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt. Does that mean the flow of electrons up the four-wheeled food chain will eventually consume our hallowed supercars? Not if AMG has anything to say about it.

AMG Director of Vehicle Development Tobias Moers recently confirmed that not only will there be a successor to the Mercedes-Benz performance division's SLS AMG, he notes that its internal combustion engine will most definitely not be sharing living quarters with an electric drivetrain. Instead, AMG plans to focus on further pushing the power and efficiency envelope of the internal combustion engine and advancing the use of lightweight materials to achieve their goals. The first example of this effort can be seen in the new SLS AMG Black Series that incorporates many weight-saving techniques to shed some 154 pounds from the SLS AMG GT (above), which itself is lighter than the standard SLS AMG.

Furthermore, Moers remarks that his company is happy to leave the hypercar segment to companies like Ferrari and McLaren. He admits that, "Ferrari in the hyper-car segment is still a different brand than AMG. We have to be honest..." So rather than taking the SLS further upmarket to do battle with bulls and stallions, Moers hinted that the next-generation SLS may be joined by another performance model that fits neatly between itself and the C63 AMG.
Mercedes rules out hybrid supercar, promises SLS successor originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 16 Mar 2013 17:00:00 EST.
Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.

The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.
Continue reading Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]

Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video] originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 15 Mar 2013 12:45:00 EST.
If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.

"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."

The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that.

There have been four Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?

Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.
Continue reading 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]

2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video] originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 13 Mar 2013 11:57:00 EST.
The current Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG may be in the autumn of its years, but it's still one of our very favorite sport sedans. Ever. Yes, its paddle-shift transmission may not always follow orders, but with stupendous levels of thrust from its charismatic naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, ebullient rear-wheel-drive dynamics and that noise, we frankly don't care that it's getting on a bit.

As a sendoff of sorts for the current generation, Mercedes-Benz has just introduced a new Edition 507 model at the Geneva Motor Show, with 507 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - an increase of 56 horses over the standard car. Mercedes credits the substitution of low-mass internals from the SLS AMG gullwing for the power bump, a tactic shared with the AMG Development Package upgrade that has been subsumed by this Edition 507. 0-60 is quoted at 4.1 seconds and top speed at 174 mph.

The Edition 507 borrows its aluminum hood from the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe, along with spidery new 19-inch wheels in either titanium gray finish or matte black with shiny rim flanges. As seen on our gallery car above, a sports striping package is also featured, as are glossy black grille, daytime running lamps, spoiler and mirror caps.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but the car will be coming to North America in 2013 in both sedan and coupe formats.

Continue reading 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 still lights our fire

2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 still lights our fire originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 06 Mar 2013 11:01:00 EST.
If we're being completely honest, we haven't exactly been in love with the aesthetics of the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. It's mostly a front-end issue, with its glowering eagle-eye headlamps and upright, dinner-plate-sized Three-Pointed Star coming across to us as overwrought. That's particularly troublesome for a roadster whose history has of the most elegant designs of all time in its back catalog. Somehow, the new R231 generation's brash visuals seem more at home on this Brabus 800 Roadster to us.

That's probably because the high-dollar German tuner has turned up the wick on the SL's visuals even further, with carbon fiber bodywork, a more aggressive aero kit, matte hood scoop and complex two-finish wheels. It's all-the-way committed to its brashness, in other words - and justifiably so. Anything with 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque has earned the right to look however it wants, right?

Brabus started with the SL65 and its not-exactly-underpowered 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, and went to town, fitting their own turbocharger and intercooler system, along with a less-restrictive exhaust system with driver-selectable sound levels and new engine electronics. The result is a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time, an electronically limited top whack of 217 mph... and one seriously compromised toupée.
Continue reading Brabus 800 Roadster is a power-mad aristocrat

Brabus 800 Roadster is a power-mad aristocrat originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 06 Mar 2013 08:29:00 EST.
The recent history of AMG is turning out amped-up versions of Mercedes-Benz offerings that would hardly ever be mistaken for their sedate counterparts. Sure, you'd need to pay attention to pick a G-Class from the G63 AMG, but dual side-pipes are a quick giveaway. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is not only a new era in Affalterbach's attention on smaller cars, it is probably also the most subtle transformation we can think of in the line-up.

Low and chunky enough in standard guise to make a sporting impression, the aesthetic makeover is confined to black trim around the lower rim of the hatch, black wheels with red brake calipers and a single, rectangular exhaust tip on either side of the diffuser. It's easier to make a positive ID inside, where the flat-bottomed steering wheel, red seatbelts and red-rimmed details say, "You know what I am..."

If the car is running, though, it won't take but a second. The 2.0-liter turbo spitting 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet will grumble through a sport exhaust at idle, and bellow through the same on it's way to a 0-60 time of less than 4.5 seconds. And if you need something that looks a little harder - and you want those quad pipes - then the A45 AMG Edition 1 is the treasure you seek. There's a press release below for all the info you'll need until the hot hatch goes on sale in Germany later this year, and photos for the rest of us while we wait to find out if we'll get a chance to buy it.
Continue reading Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is Affalterbach's first big leap into the little pond

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is Affalterbach's first big leap into the little pond originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 05 Mar 2013 08:01:00 EST.
Mercedes-Benz showed off the CLA45 AMG at a private event on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, but was determined not to let it be photographed. We can talk about it, though - after all, a teaser image was released to promote the new Sony game Drive Club. The CLA45 AMG will use the same powertrain as the A45 AMG, which means a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. And that means a small <strike>four-door coupe</strike> sedan with the highest horsepower-per-liter in the segment. It will shift through the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, should also run out of speed at 155 miles per hour and have that three-stage stability control system.

As with its hatch sibling, the CLA is already so aggressive on the outside - and the parent company so anxious not to demolish the sedan's 0.22 coefficient of drag - that not much has been done to the cranked-up CLA. Even the rather thin tires on the standard only get a little less thin on the hotter variant. Inside will be the telltale AMG signs, with lots of red detailing and that flat-bottomed wheel among the giveaways. We'll know more later this month when the wraps come off at the New York International Auto Show.
Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG coming to the New York Auto Show originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 05 Mar 2013 05:30:00 EST.
We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.

Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.

But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.

According to Autoweek, the G63 AMG 6x6 will actually be for sale. Speaking to the magazine, the the head of G-Class development, Axel Harries, says that the off-road monster will likely be the second-most expensive Mercedes-Benz model, behind the $457,000 SLS Electric Drive. Right now, the automaker is looking to build maybe 20 or 30 units annually.

If the apocalypse is indeed coming, we'll take one of these to ride out the storm. Scroll down to watch a video of the G63 AMG 6x6 blowing your mind.
Continue reading How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome?
Ford, Holden and Nissan introduced their V8 Supercar challengers a while back. Erebus Motorport, whose racing program got the green light not even 120 days ago, has finally shown off the Mercedes-Benz E-Class racer that will complete this year's field of entries. The first AMG race car ever to be built outside of Germany, it's an Australian-built tube-frame chassis specced to the series' Car of Tomorrow rules, fitted with body panels that channel the E63 AMG.

Supported by AMG Customer Motorsport, the 5.0-liter engine is provided by HWA in Germany, the racing arm of AMG. Regulations dictate that it have roughly 650 horsepower, a redline between 7,000 and 7,500 rpm and a torque curve that matches the parity baseline set for all cars.

Lee Holdsworth, Tim Slade and Maro Engel will drive the three team cars, each with different sponsors. Their first showing will be at the Clipsal 500 on March 3 in Adelaide, here in the US we'll get to see them in May at the Circuit of the Americas. Check out the videos below of the Erebus car starting up at its launch, and footage of all of this year's cars doing pre-season testing on track together.
Continue reading Erebus Motorsport Mercedes E-Class V8 Supercar completes the field [w/videos]

Erebus Motorsport Mercedes E-Class V8 Supercar completes the field [w/videos] originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 23 Feb 2013 16:59:00 EST.
