Sort of. According to correspondence received from Harvey and the BBC by our El Camino-lovin' compatriots over at Jalopnik, Harvey will be resigning as editor-in-chief in favor of a more flexible position as Editorial Consultant and an as-yet undisclosed new part-time position on this side of the Atlantic. <br /><br />Over the course of his six-year tenure, Harvey achieved unprecedented success in expanding the publication. <em>Top Gear </em>magazine's creative director Charlie Turner will be moving into Harvey's office temporarily while they search for a new chief, so feel free to <a href="http:// http://www.topgear.com/uk/contact-us">write in</a> and let them know which of your favorite Autoblog editors or contributors you'd most like to see <strike>deported to the UK</strike> in the newly vacated position. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5196906/michael-harvey-out-as-top-gear-magazine-editor">Jalopnik</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/06/michael-harvey-steps-down-as-editor-of-i-top-gear-i-magazine/">Michael Harvey steps down as editor of <i>Top Gear</i> magazine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 06 Apr 2009 18:28:00 EST. The 638-hp supercar was a shoo-in to win over the Top Gear team, just as we guessed when they were <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/22/more-pics-from-top-gear-testing-american-metal/">caught driving</a> at at the Bonneville Salt Flats earlier this year. Chevrolet's baddest Vette ever sped off with top honors in Top Gear's Performance Car of the Year category. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/899385/"><img hspace="4" height="142" border="1" align="right" width="215" vspace="4" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-02_opt.jpg" /></a>The second award winner won't be quite as easy to guess, mostly because it's not sold in the U.S. Top Gear's Executive Car of the Year is the Vauxhall Insignia which is based on GM's Epsilon II platform. The magazine likes the car's looks and technology. We won't bother predicting whether we'll see it here eventually. For that to happen, Saturn will need to be around, and right now, we'll have to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/28/would-gm-shed-saab-saturn-and-pontiac-to-secure-govt-aid/">wait and see what happens</a> on that front. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2008/11/27/265800.html">The Auto Channel</a>]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/">British Motor Show: Opel Insignia</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-hatch--01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-hatch--02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-hatch--03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/london-motor-show-opel-insignia-hatchback/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/07/opel-insignia-33_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/">Top Gear at Bonneville</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/top_gear_salt_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/top_gear_salt_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/top_gear_salt_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/top_gear_salt_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-gear-at-bonneville/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/top_gear_salt_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/">First Drive: 2009 Corvette ZR1</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2009-corvette-zr1-1280-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/zr1-1st-drive-1280-46_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/2009-corvette-zr1-1280-28_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/zr1-1st-drive-1280-20_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-corvette-zr1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/zr1-1st-drive-1280-21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><strong><br /></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/30/gm-uk-takes-two-top-gear-awards/">GM UK takes two Top Gear awards </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 30 Nov 2008 12:38:00 EST. One thing that can be gleaned from the rendering on the <em>TG</em> microsite is the headlight layout, with an inner row of LEDs leading back to an array that includes at least one additional cluster of LEDs. The front end still looks a tad overwrought to us - and a little reminiscent of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/02/paris-2008-the-gt-by-citroen-no-the-whole-thing-this-time/">GTbyCitroen</a> - but we suppose we'll just have to get a copy of <em>Top Gear</em> before we vote with our thumbs.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.topgear.com/content/magflash/1300/">Top Gear</a> via <a href="http://motorgears.blogspot.com/2008/10/magazine-revels-aston-martin-one-77.html">Motor Gears</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/06/top-gear-magazine-sorta-reveals-aston-martin-one-77/">Top Gear Magazine (sorta) reveals Aston Martin One-77</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 06 Oct 2008 07:58:00 EST.
