<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Pontiac G8 ST</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />It's been a bad month for Pontiac fans. While begging for money from Congress, GM mentioned its intentions to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/28/would-gm-shed-saab-saturn-and-pontiac-to-secure-govt-aid/">sacrifice the brand</a> to aid the General's recovery and get a few billion from the feds in the process. Now comes word that GM may keep the brand around, but cut its lineup in half... or more.<br /><br /><em>Automotive News </em>spoke with Susan Docherty, vice president of Buick-Pontiac-GMC, who said that Pontiac's Aveo-based <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/19/pontiac-defends-decision-to-sell-g3-in-u-s/">2010 G3</a> will sticker for $15,000, but says it's a short-term product for the brand. Unfortunately, Docherty also hints the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/14/officially-official-pontiac-g8-st-it-is/">G8 Sport Truck</a>'s lifespan could be even shorter. "We would be foolish if we didn't take a second look at whether or not that is the right thing to do."<br /><br />In a separate <em>AN </em><a href="http://www.autonews.com/article/20081215/ANA03/812150341">article</a>, Docherty goes even further and suggests Pontiac's lineup could be pared down from six vehicles to a single nameplate. According to Docherty, "We are not going to spend tons of money on product development" for Pontiac and that the Pontiac Torrent will be dropped for 2009.<br /><br />So what will Pontiac be selling? According to Docherty, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/29/first-drive-2008-pontiac-g8/">G8</a> is the most likely candidate for GM's performance brand, and that the ideal future for Pontiac would be "very focused, very specialty or niche."<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/">2010 Pontiac G8 ST</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/g8stconcept_1024x768_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/pontiac-g8-st-1280-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/pontiac-g8-st-1280-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/pontiac-g8-st-1280-004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-p-o-n-t-ianda-c-gpontiac8-sport-truck/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/pontiac-g8-st-1280-005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/">2009 Pontiac G3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x09pn_g3001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x09pn_g3002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x09pn_g3003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x09pn_g3004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-pontiac-g3/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/09/x09pn_g3005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/article/20081215/ANA06/812150368/1178">Automotive News</a> - Sub. <p>Two <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/15/new-york-08-preview-2010-pontiac-sports-truck-gm-wants-you-to/">2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Trucks</a> were recently spied in Australia loaded on the back of a transporter. Although seemingly dipped in camouflage decals, the profile of this <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/08/pontiac-el-cami-no/">not-going-to-be-named-El-Camino</a> is easily distinguishable, even without a clear shot of the obvious Pontiac grill. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/19/new-york-2008-the-ute-has-landed-live-reveal-of-the-pontiac-g8/">Previewed at the 2008 New York Auto Show</a>, the G8-based Sport Truck will be powered by a 6.0-liter V-8 rated at 361 horsepower. It should scoot to 60 mph in just over five seconds. Those of us in North America can expect this cargo-bedded Aussie import to arrive on our shores in late 2009.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/">2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck - Live Reveal</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/01_pontiac_g8_t_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/02_pontiac_g8_t_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/03_pontiac_g8_t_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/06_pontiac_g8_t_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-pontiac-g8-sport-truck-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/04_pontiac_g8_t_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.g8nation.com/2008/05/pontiac-g8-st-spied-in-australia/">G8Nation</a>]</p>

<p>10,000. That's not a sticker price and it's not a production number. It's the number of submissions General Motors received for <a href="http://www.pontiac.com/namethiscar">naming the Pontiac G8 Sport Truck</a>. The contest opened up just a month ago, following <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/19/new-york-2008-the-ute-has-landed-live-reveal-of-the-pontiac-g8/">Pontiac's unveiling of the concept car-ute at the New York Auto Show.</a> </p>
<p>Granted, many of the names will be duplicates. And many of the names will be completely unusable, whether they're owned by other companies or just plain inappropriate. It'll take Pontiac a good long while to sift through them all, and while the carmaker won't reveal what names were submitted or which of them are being considered, a spokesman for the GM division did confirm El Camino was one of them, although it remains to be seen if GM can or will use a defunct Chevy name on a Pontiac vehicle. Meanwhile, although the public voice will be taken into consideration, Pontiac is safeguarding itself against an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/24/alfa-declares-a-do-over-new-hatch-i-wont-i-be-called-furios/">Alfa MiTo-type backtracking</a> by noting that, in the end, the company's marketing gurus will have the last say. </p>

A small fleet of these sport trucks looked right at home parked in front of the Harbor, directly in the shadows of the multi-million dollar yachts at the Balboa Bay Club. We even had an older couple chase us down in their customized BMW 7-series and place an order. We kid you not. The S331 is a new vehicle and new segment for this small manufacturer better known for its Mustangs and S7 supercar. Getting into trucks was a logical development for Saleen, as the dealerships that handle their products report that nearly three quarters of their sales are trucks. So when there appeared to be enough interest in a Saleen truck, they decided to build one. Notice we said "build one" and not "modify one."<br /><br />Follow the jump for the rest of the Day 1 story. Like the Stage 3 Mustang mentioned below, the F-150 gets a ROUSHcharger system that
increases power of the truck's 5.4L V8 up to 445 hp and a nice round 500 ft-lbs. of torque. The truck gets the
visuals included with the Stage 1 kit and the suspension upgrades that come with Stage 2. A set of 20-inch rims, carbon
fiber hood scoop and dual side outlet exhausts give the ROUSH pickup an extra dose of bravado to back up the newfound
power. <br /><br />Follow the jump for ROUSH's official press release and an additional highrez pic.<br /><br
/>[Source: ROUSH]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/27/roush-stage-3-f-150-follows-hot-on-hooves-of-stage-3-mustang/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>ROUSH Stage 3 F-150 follows hot on hooves of Stage 3 Mustang</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/27/roush-stage-3-f-150-follows-hot-on-hooves-of-stage-3-mustang/">ROUSH Stage 3 F-150 follows hot on hooves of Stage 3 Mustang</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 27 Apr 2006 08:33:00 EST.
