It's hard to believe that The Simpsons is moving into its 26th season, but there's good news for auto enthusiasts, especially of the EV variety. The show's executive producer, Al Jean, confirmed on Twitter that Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk would have a guest spot on the show in the upcoming season. Even better, it sounds like a pretty significant role.
Fans of The Simpsons will remember a long-ago episode (from 1993, to be exact) where an out-of-town huckster tries to sell the citizens of Springfield on the idea of forking over their money to build a monorail. And there was a bunch of singing involved. Now, Music City could start singing the same tune, according to Wired.
Homer Simpson is probably one of the last people we'd ask for directions (unless we need to walk over to Moe's for a night cap) but that isn't stopping TomTom from using his very recognizable voice. The lovable Simpson's dad wll provide instructions in the usual Homer prose, including the usual references to food and general stupidity. The TomTom website has samples of Homer's unique direction-giving style on their website.
