The name of the game: arcade. Or better names might be 'free-for-all' and 'pedestrians, watch out!' It's cut like an MTV video, so it's hard to get a feel for the flow of the action, but all you need to know is that there'll be plenty of it -- action, that is. And if nothing else, it does seem to accurately depict how actual R8 drivers tend to pilot their cars... Follow the jump for the video.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/midnightclubLA/">Rockstar</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/25/video-audi-r8-puts-angels-in-danger-in-midnight-club-la/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Audi R8 puts angels in danger in Midnight Club: LA</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/25/video-audi-r8-puts-angels-in-danger-in-midnight-club-la/">VIDEO: Audi R8 puts angels in danger in Midnight Club: LA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Aug 2008 19:29:00 EST. Something about knocking a tenth of a second off our best time in the Mazda Demio was as addictive as air. Last Friday we spent an hour in front of the pre-production version of Midnight Club Los Angeles, and we've gotta admit... we're getting the itch for a PS3. Replacing several different cities for one highly detailed rendering of Los Angeles, the new Midnight Club is all about racing wherever you want -- in LA -- and however you want. Follow the jump to find out what's new and hot, and check out the gallery of hi-res screenshots below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/">Midnight Club: Los Angeles</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/00_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/10/coming-to-a-console-near-you-midnight-club-los-angeles/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Coming to a console near you: Midnight Club: Los Angeles</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/10/coming-to-a-console-near-you-midnight-club-los-angeles/">Coming to a console near you: Midnight Club: Los Angeles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 10 Aug 2008 12:04:00 EST. Joystiq reports that Midnight Club: Los Angeles will feature "no load times, no tracks, and no rules," which means much hooning can be had in the City of Angels with a large selection of infinitely customizable cars. Among those available to gamers will be the first use of the new Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro in a racing game. Having already been officially revealed to the public, the Challenger in Midnight Club: Los Angeles looks spot on, while the Camaro appears to sport a few quirky details like its headlights that Chevy probably didn't want to reveal in a video game or just weren't ready when it came to digitize the car. Driving your dream cars in a video game certainly doesn't replace the real thing, but it's fun to do things with a digital version that you wouldn't dream of inflicting on an actual car.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/">Midnight Club: Los Angeles</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/00_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/01_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/02_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/03_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/midnight-club-los-angeles-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/04_midnightclubla_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/21/midnight-club-la-racing-to-xbox-360-ps3-psp-on-september-9/">Joystiq</a>, <a href="http://kotaku.com/382370/midnight-clubs-picture-perfect-la">Kotaku</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/22/midnight-club-los-angeles-first-video-game-to-feature-challenge/">Midnight Club: Los Angeles first video game to feature Challenger and Camaro</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 22 Apr 2008 11:58:00 EST. <p>Some of us here at Autoblog have always felt a connection with Grand Theft Auto. Maybe it has to do with our daily efforts to wreak automotive havoc on the digital world or our deep-down secret desires to be bad-ass pimp... but certainly NOT pimping Coca-Cola. Such efforts are for polar bears and teeny bopper idols. Sure, we like Coke as much as the next guy and gal (the kind you DRINK, sheesh, we're not kindred spirits with the games' heroes to quite that extent), but Grand Theft Auto is the epitome of "damn the man" ideology. </p>
<p>So imagine our horror as we watched a Grand Theft Auto hero actually pay for his Coke, yank a guy out of his car to give him a Coke too, shove a homeless guy into a convertible full of hot women, thwart an attempt to steal an elderly woman's purse, and commit more good deeds, all while some really happy people sing, "Give a little love, and it all comes back to you, la la la la la la la....."</p>
<p>So, dear readers, does this constitute a sell-out or an ingenious partnership between Rock Star Games and Coca-Cola? You be the judge.</p>
