The Revitalization in Action team has given us dream lineups for Pontiac, Saturn, Saab and Buick in the past, and now it is Chevy's turn to be transformed by GMInsideNews members ChevroletRevived and Fbodyrules. As before, the RIA lineup for Chevy includes a makeover of the brand's entire lineup, including new models not yet for sale like the Beat sub-compact and Volt. Also included are a couple of models not even scheduled for production like a mid-size luxury hardtop convertible named the Bel-Air, a sports wagon called the Nomad, a long-wheelbase version of the Malibu called the Caprice, and finally, a Chevelle Concept based on the rear-wheel-drive Zeta platform and positioned as a sort of Impala coupe.

The design direction taken by the RIA team appears to draw heavily on the Volt's style, specifically its sharply angled split-grille that is applied across much of the bow-tie lineup. Our favorite models of the RIA lineup for Chevy include the Aveo and Impala, both of which are heads-and-tails above their current counterparts in style. The entire project, however, is worth a read, as they not only include exterior and interior shots of each vehicle, but also details descriptions of their trim levels and powertrains, as well as the strategy behind their position in the market.

We don't know what brand is slated to go under the RIA's knife next, but the RIA site includes a link to a page for Cadillac that says "Site Coming Soon!"

You may remember the group Revitalization in Action as the well-intentioned GM fanboys that got tired of waiting around for their favorite automaker to fix itself, so went ahead and did it themselves. Composed of GMInsideNews forum members ChevroletRevived, fbodyrules and new member NSAP, the RIA has already dreamed up entirely new product portfolios for Buick, Saab and Pontiac. It's fun to watch these guys imagine a GM with bottomless pockets and limitless imaginations, and today we get to see that fun formula applied to Saturn.

Saturn already stands as GM's fastest growing brand, though that title stems from the fact that this year it's offering more models than it ever has before. Nevertheless, GM requires a successful Saturn to complete its turnaround, and the RIA think they've conjured a new lineup that will do the trick. Aside from envisioning the redesigns of current models like the Aura (shown above), Sky, Outlook and upcoming Astra, the RIA also builds out the lineup by adding the small Corsa-based Saturn Signal hatchback and Lambda-based sport-utility-truck, the Saturn Switch (shown right). A case can be made for both new models as the arrival of Opel's new Corsa is already almost a lock, and we're betting that unibody pickups are going to come on very strong in the next few years.

Also check out the addition of interior views to Saturn's dream lineup thanks to the addition of NSAP to the RIA team. As with all RIA dream lineups to date, the dream powertrain lineups are just that, a dream. It will be a long time before every single Saturn model has a Green Line variant and the RIA team is way too optimistic when it comes to how powerful they suppose each model will be. Nevertheless, there are much worse things that could happen to Saturn than to end up with a lineup like this.

The GM Inside News forum members who conjured up a dream Buick lineup for their project titled Revitalization in Action have come back again with a turnaround plan for Saab. GMI member ChevroletRevived collaborated with fellow forum member fbodyrules, who supplied the Photoshop skills, to dream up a new line of Saabs on which the quirky Swedish brand should, in their opinion, adopt if it hopes to save itself from being sold or axed altogether.

The lineup includes a 9-1 small luxury vehicle along the lines of the Volvo C30 and Audi A3; a refreshened 9-3 with cues from the Aero X that allow the brand's volume seller to carry on another four years before an Epsilon II-based model is ready; a 9-4X small CUV that will compete with the Acura RDX, BMW X3 and Audi's upcoming Q5; a new 9-5 based on the Epsilon II platform (shown above); another version of the Lambda platform for the 9-7X replacement called the 9-6x; and finally a true luxury brand flagship in the new 9-9x sedan.

In true Saab form, the GMI guys have placed various turbo powerplants in all the models, ranging from the 1.8t in the 9-1 to the 480-hp, turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 in the 9-9x Aero. They also aim to keep Saab on the cutting edge by having GM offer its two-mode hybrid system in various models with the brand's BioPower motor that can run on gas or ethanol. Clearly a common design theme has been executed across this entire fictitious lineup that draws heavily from the Aero X concept, as well. Their designs are fetching, their product planning is thorough, and the end result is the most mainstream and attractive Saab lineup ever dreamed up. The question now is, will it remain a dream?
