Being from the Boston area means you learn handful of facts specific to The Hub. One of them is that Kevin Youkilis (A.K.A. "The Greek God of Walks," "Youk") is a great pro baseball player with a few years left in the tank (despite his 2011 woes). Another fact is that you can't throw a stone in New England without hitting a Herb Chambers dealership. As a former resident of the great state of Massachusetts, your author is an Escalade-sized Red Sox fan and also worked a summer shuttling rental cars between two of Chambers' dealerships.

It seems Chambers and Youk are working together now, but their approach is... unique. Sitting at a piano, the duet attempts to warble out a version of Biz Markie's classic Just A Friend. Predictably, it's not exactly Grammy worthy. Hell, it's not even worthy to make the first round of American Idol auditions. Luckily, Mr. Markie isn't far away and steps in to help the pair get the song just right.

New England is Volvo Country. It's also home territory for the loved and loathed Red Sox. There's plenty of cars plastered with "B" stickers, license plates and trinkum. Long a sponsor of Red Sox baseball, Volvo's rolled out a special edition of its stubby C30. The Kammback hatch comes with a factory-fitted Team logo stuck to the glass of the rear hatch, fender badges and a distinctive shade of red. This regionally pimped Volvo is a limited edition, with only 107 examples being produced.

If baseball (or just the Red Sox) isn't your thing, Volvo's got an Ocean Race Edition that spans the V70, XC70 and XC90 models. Ocean Race cars have been available a couple of times before, sporting Ocean Blue paint and nautical detailing, and the new Ocean Race themed cars continue to tie in with the actual sailing event. New this time around is the availability of Ocean Race models in Electric Silver as well as Ocean Blue. Interior details are more evocative of sailing, and new wheels draw inspiration from the undulation of the ocean. Volvo expects to shift 9,000 of these maritime units, which should make it easy enough to find a limited production Volvo, even if you miss out on the baseball themed C30. Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez may be one of the greatest pure hitters in the history of Major League Baseball, but the world champion slugger has at times been maligned for his lack of heart on the diamond. Very few people are questioning the perennial all-star's heart outside work, however, after he donated his gorgeous custom 1967 Lincoln Continental to charity. The immaculate blue convertible comes equipped with suicide doors, a 500-cubic-inch Ford Racing powerplant, a spotless engine bay, modernized interior, and some serious DUBs. The '67 Continental has only 72 miles post rebuild, and the plush ride provided by the air suspension will make you think you're driving in, well, a 2008 Lincoln.

The charity involved is Boston's Franciscan children's hospital, and while bidding on eBay started at $30,000, it has quickly risen above $70,000. As badly as the Red Sox wanted Alex Rodriguez instead of Manny, the Dominican slugger has delivered two Series titles and a helping hand in the community, as well. eBay Find of the Day: Big Papi's Mercedes SL65

Forget about brokers -- when celebs need to unload cars, they head straight for My eBay. This particular Red Sox Red SL65 happens to be the property of Mr. Walk-Off Home Run David Ortiz, alias Big Papi, from the Boston Red Sox. He bought it for himself when the BoSox won the 2004 World Series (after an 86-year drought, in case you forgot), then dropped another thirty-five large making it custom. There are black D's in the 20" Lorinser center caps. There are two subs behind the front seats, and between the speakers is a baseball diamond with D.O.'s initials in relief. There's a bodykit that we'll let you comment on in private. And the interior is, of course, red and black.
