<div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Cadillac Provoq Concept</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Through some circumstantial evidence, "rumblings" and tea leave-reading, <em>Autoweek</em> has come to the conclusion that General Motors may unveil a new Cadillac model at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/DetroitAutoShow/">Detroit Auto Show</a> powered by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ChevroletVolt/">Chevrolet Volt</a>'s range-extending hybrid powertrain.<br /><br />Rumors of a Caddy-badged Volt have been <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/26/rumormill-cadillac-to-get-its-own-volt/">circulated since earlier this year</a>, with Bob Lutz and other GM execs hinting at the possibility of new hybrid model joining the Cadillac line-up. Lutz told reports back in September that "there's definitely room" for an eco-conscious Caddy and that "there's going to have to be some kind of dramatic environmental statement" from GM's luxury brand. So what form could it take?<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/14/opel-and-vauxhall-versions-of-volt-to-be-built-in-u-s/">Opel and Vauxhall versions of the Volt</a> are already planned, but a Cadillac variant would likely be a small- to mid-size crossover. Just such a vehicle is slated to arrive in the second quarter of 2009 - the next generation SRX -- inspired by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/08/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-revealed/">Provoq concept unveiled earlier this year</a>. While the Volt is supposed to carry a price tag of around $40,000, the range-extended, plug-in hybrid CUV from Cadillac would be priced significantly higher, and that could help GM recoup some of the costs associated with the Volt's advanced drivetrain development. We'll know for sure in a few weeks time.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/">Cadillac Provoq Fuel Cell Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x08cc_ca033_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x08cc_ca034_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x08cc_ca035_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x08cc_ca036_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/x08cc_ca037_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/">Detroit 2008: Cadillac Provoq concept - Live Reveal</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autoweek.com/article/20081218/FREE/812189985">Autoweek</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/18/rumomill-cadillac-volt-coming-to-detroit/">Rumormill: Cadillac Volt coming to Detroit?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 20:01:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/31/pollsters-reveal-the-2010-cadillac-cts-wagon/">CTS wagon</a> will debut in 2009 and will be sold worldwide, and it's expected that the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/14/detroit-2008-cadillac-cts-coupe-concept-2-doors-is-better-than/">CTS coupe</a> will debut later that year.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/02/2010-cadillac-brx-provoq-will-become-new-srx/">As expected</a>, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/14/detroit-2008-the-cadillac-provoq-shows-its-face-in-the-midwest/">Provoq concept</a> will replace the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/SRX/">SRX</a> in 2010 and will ditch its predecessor's Sigma underpinnings and utilize a new platform created by blending the Theta and Epsilon architectures. Power will be provided by a V6 and Cadillac's general manager, Jim Taylor, expects annual sales to land somewhere between 60,000 and 70,000 units.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/">Cadillac BRX - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cad.brx.fc.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cad.brx.fc2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cad.brx.p1.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cad.brx.p2.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-brx-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cad.brx.rc.kgp.ed_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-cts-wagon-spy-shots/low/">Cadillac CTS Wagon - spy shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-cts-wagon-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/cd_ctswagon_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-cts-wagon-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/cd_ctswagon_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-cts-wagon-spy-shots/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/04/cd_ctswagon_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autonews.com/article/20080623/ANA03/806230364/1197">Automotive News</a> - Sub. While the report describes an excited dealer's reaction, the idea of shared E-Flex itself is hardly surprising. For instance, we've seen E-Flex concepts for Saturn/<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/opel-flextreme-concept-1/388075/">Opel</a> (Flextreme) and Cadillac (<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-2008-cadillac-provoq-fuel-cell-concept-1/565048/">Provoq</a>) already, and sharing the tech makes sense when you consider that consumer interest will probably be high whenever the Volt is ultimately produced, and spreading the wealth gives GM multiple avenues (and price points) at which it can cash in on the investment. The General already shares engines and platforms among its brands, so why not E-Flex? It seems like such a natural thing to do, maybe that's why the comment about sharing it was made in passing to begin with. The General's been telegraphing this move through the concepts it's released over the last year. <br /><br />[Source: Automotive News - Sub. Oh, and the Provoq wears what has to be the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/582778/">skinniest tires</a> we've seen on a concept car in recent memory.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/">Detroit 2008: Cadillac Provoq concept - Live Reveal</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/">Detroit 2008: Cadillac Provoq concept - Live Reveal</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/cadillac-provoq-concept-detroit-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-concept-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/14/detroit-2008-the-cadillac-provoq-shows-its-face-in-the-midwest/">Detroit 2008: The Cadillac Provoq shows its face in the Midwest</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 14 Jan 2008 13:10:00 EST. The Provoq, as you likely know by know, makes use of the E-Flex architecture that also underpinned last year's Chevy Volt and Opel Flextreme concepts. If you like what you see, plan on seeing more of it in the not-too-distant future. The styling of the Provoq is likely <em>very </em>close to what we'll see when Cadillac eventually pulls the wraps off its upcoming BRX crossover. That's down the line, however. In the meantime, check out the gallery below for our first look at the Provoq in the metal.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/">CES 2008: Cadillac Provoq Live reveal</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-live-reveal-1-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-live-reveal-1-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-live-reveal-1-11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-live-reveal-1-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ces-2008-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/cadillac-provoq-live-reveal-1-13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/08/pics-aplenty-cadillac-provoq-live-reveal/">Pics Aplenty: Cadillac Provoq Live Reveal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 08 Jan 2008 23:34:00 EST. While very few details were released, GM says that the Provoq will be "free from petroleum fuel and emissions." That means the Provoq could be either an all-electric vehicle or possibly another variant of the automaker's E-flex platform that has spawned the <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/2007/01/07/detroit-auto-show-its-here-gms-plug-in-hybrid-is-the-chevy-v/">Chevy Volt</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/10/officially-official-opel-flextreme-concept-40g-km-of-co2-and/">Opel Flextreme</a>. Those two concepts are both series hybrids with a gas engine and diesel range extender, respectively. While GM did show off the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/19/shanghai-motor-show-gm-unveils-fuel-cell-e-flex/">E-flex platform with a hydrogen fuel-cell range extender</a> at last year's Shanghai Motor Show, we've yet to see it paired with a body. Perhaps then the Provoq will be the hydrogen fuel-cell series hybrid concept that we've been waiting to see. There's one more day to go before Wagoner takes the podium in Vegas and reveals all. <br /><br />[Source: GM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/07/ces-2008-wagoner-to-unveil-cadillac-provoq-concept-tomorrow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>CES 2008: Wagoner to unveil Cadillac Provoq Concept tomorrow</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/07/ces-2008-wagoner-to-unveil-cadillac-provoq-concept-tomorrow/">CES 2008: Wagoner to unveil Cadillac Provoq Concept tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 07 Jan 2008 10:35:00 EST.
