Few cars epitomize "the good life" quite like the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. But for some people, good isn't good enough. And for those people, there's Project Kahn, the blingtastic British tuning house which has just debuted its own custom DHC.

Central to Kahn's package are the special Silver Mist rims, specially made for the Rolls. They measure 22 inches in diameter, a steam-rolling 9.5-inches wide and are able to accept the RR hubs that keep themselves right-side-up. The package also includes a polished grille, special elm-wood veneers, embossed headrests, piano-lacquer steering wheel spokes, iPod connectivity and lambs' wool rugs. Kahn's treatment of the exclusive cabriolet adds another $50k to the bottom line, but somehow we doubt that anyone looking to buy a new Rolls these days would be deterred by some extra pocket change.

Gallery: Project Kahn Rolls-Royce DHC

Continue reading The Phantom Menace: Project Kahn mods the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe

The Phantom Menace: Project Kahn mods the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 08 Jan 2009 15:01:00 EST.
If you haven't been living in a cave, shut off from the fantastic world of European supercars for the past decade, then you'll likely know that Aston Martin has been hard at work on a succession of new flagships since the vaunted Vanquish. But Aston Martin is an automaker deeply rooted in its heritage, so even after discontinuing the Vanquish, it came back to give it some upgrades. Now, noted British tuning house Project Kahn has followed suite by revisiting the Vanquish S with a new interior package.

Kahn's vision for the Vanquish's interior includes a custom dashboard, center console, seats, door panels, steering wheel and roof lining decked out in the customer's choice of contrasting Nappa and Alcantara leather trim, deliciously perforated and top-stitched. Piano lacquer trim panels and smoked privacy glass also form part of the delectable package. Of course Vanquish owners could probably find any number of upholsterers eager and willing to work up a fresh take on the erstwhile Aston flagship's cockpit, but Kahn presents a compelling option. Follow the jump for the press release and check out the high-resolution images in the gallery below.

Afzal Kahn has made unobtainable exotics even more incredible with kits for the McMerc SLR and the Aston Martin DB9S, along with providing parts for more subdued offerings, like the LR2 and Audi A8, not to mention the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Now, Kahn is teaming up with Cosworth to blend its extreme aero mods with the legendary engine tuner to create the ultimate in road-going rockets. Fortunately or unfortunately, their first joint endeavor will be a tuned version of the Range Rover Sport, dubbed the Cosworth 300. They've only provided a teaser image (right), but expect all the details to be released later this year.

[Source: Project Kahn via WCF]
Kahn and Cosworth to dominate aftermarket tuning together originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 17:28:00 EST.
There isn't much left to do with a supercar. That's why they're called "super." Tuners of late, thankfully, seemed to be restraining themselves from going buck wild on them. On that note, with traditional British understatement, the tuning house Project Kahn has taken the Mercedes McLaren SLR and done, well, not all that much to it.

The car gets Kahn's trademark RS-X wheels, 20-inch up front and 21's in the rear. It also gets a 60 HP power boost to 677, a lowered suspension and high-flow pipes. Kahn expands on the smattering of colors that Mercedes offers by providing custom leather upholstery and paint jobs. Sure, it's not much, but at this level of the financial stratosphere, every little bit of individual luxury counts, no?

They've already tackled the Bentley Continetal GT, adding a body kit and other mods that take the elegantly styled coupe in a slightly different direction. And now they have taken on the Aston Martin DB9, a car many consider to be nearly perfect as is.

But just as Aston themselves have done with the new DBS version of the car, Project Kahn has added a body kit that takes away the slightly soft and purely elegant edge and replaced it with a more track-like lower treatment that gives the car a boy racer look and adds a certain edge to the design. For your 6,699-pound investment, you get a body kit that includes the revised front and rear bumpers, side skirts and decklid spoiler. For an extra 4,000 you can get the 20" Kahn RSV wheels, the very same wheels fitted to the Aston Martin DBS prototype.

Really it just seems like an easy way for current DB9 owners to get closer to the look of a DBS without dealing with another dealership experience. For good or bad, it is different and definitely more aggressive.
