The Playboy empire even goes racing, sponsoring no fewer than six cars in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series and the Grand-Am Cup Series. So when the magazine wants to throw its own COTY list into the mix, despite the fact that we're utterly sick of COTY lists, we'll give it a glance. Rather than your boring old categories of Best Sports Coupe and Best SUV, Playboy also threw a few extra categories in that aren't your typical COTY fare, like Best Cross-Dresser and the Al Gore Special. The overall winner and Playboy's 2007 Car of the Year is the BMW Z4M Coupe. You can check out all the winners below. We hope we didn't spoil it for you, because we know you read Playboy for the articles.

BEST TWO-WAY PLAYER: VW Eos

BEST SPORTS COUPE: Porsche 911 Turbo

BEST SUV: Cadillac Escalade

And when you're talking about the VIP version of HIN, the quality should be kicked up a notch, and we weren't disappointed. The lovely ladies of L.A. included professional models, car chicks, race drivers, employees who just felt like strutting their stuff while discussing their products, even a few Playboy bunnies. Not all of them were locals, some we talked to were from the East Coast, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, and Washington. The individual vendor booths had some of their own crew while the event itself had its fashion show models and the Miss HIN regional contestants competing for the Queen of the Scene title, plus there were plenty of dolled up girlfriends and wives draping themselves across their SO's vehicles. It was quite a gathering. As with the vehicles we showed you a few days ago, variety is the spice of life and beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, so rather than subject these gals to your personal taste expressions, we are leaving comments off for this gallery. Enjoy the pics. And btw, that's Supra drag racer Anna, aka Bikini Racer above.
Continue reading Gallery: VIP Auto Fashion Show babes

Gallery: VIP Auto Fashion Show babes originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 24 Nov 2006 20:07:00 EST. We also go over the new GMT900 pickups and how new battle lines are being drawn in the pickup wars thanks to high gas prices. We couldn't let the week go by with talking about Playboy, as well. This month's issue of the men's magazine was chock full bunnies, Rabbits and high-priced exotics. We end the show expressing our lament for another Enzo that has bitten the dust and give our best wishes to its owners, Richard Losee, who is recovering after he and his Ferrari crashed at 200 mph and rolled seven times on a highway in Utah. The September issue of the magazine features a back cover with a reverse angle shot of the front cover showing the backsides of three Playboy bunnies. The bunny in the middle, Holly Madison (who is also the queen bunny of Hugh Hefner's triplet of girlfriends), sports a tattoo on her lower back of a red VW Rabbit logo with copy that reads "The Volkswagen Rabbit. It's Back."

Volkswagen originally wanted to replace the traditional hidden Playboy bunny logo on the magazine's front cover with the Rabbit's logo. Playboy, however, nixed that idea, so VW's agency, MDC Partners' Crispin Porter + Bogusky, came up with the idea of hijacking the adult magazines back cover.

[Source: Adweek]
VW Rabbit hops on back of Playboy originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 03 Aug 2006 19:28:00 EST.
