<br />
It's the first day of the 2009 SEMA Show and we made sure to get up bright and early to bring you the latest and greatest from the show floor here in Las Vegas. Often our week starts with a reminder that there is a lot of bad design and poor taste in the automotive aftermarket industry, from over-sized wheels to gaudy paint jobs. <br />
<br />
However, this year we started off on the right foot with a wonderful and rare Pagani Zonda R. We hadn't walked more than a few feet past the entrance when we spotted the carbon-clad supercar in the Pirelli booth, and it reminded us of the good old days when <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/03/sema-gallery-greatest-supercar-display-ever-from-michelin/">another tire manufacturer used to bring out a collection of the world's fastest cars</a>. Our thanks go out to Pirelli for picking up the slack, although a few more supercars to keep the Zonda R company wouldn't have hurt. Check out the race-only Pagani in all of its high-res glory in the gallery below. <br />

<br />
A diamond in the rough? We'd hardly consider the plethora of exciting new vehicle debuts and revolutionary concept cars that is the currently ongoing <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Frankfurt-Motor-Show/">Frankfurt Motor Show</a> as "rough." But behind the Tesla and Mansory show stands in the Messe - that's the German name for the exhibition grounds, not a critique of its tidiness - we stumbled upon a real jewel of carbon fiber and exhaust tubing. Pagani calls it the Zonda R, and it was on display courtesy of the Italian exotic automaker's German distributor.<br />
<br />
The ultimate incarnation of the eminently desirable supercar, itself <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/06/2010-pagani-zonda-spied-undisguised-in-america/">due to be replaced</a> shortly, the $1.8 million track-only Zonda R was <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/help-me-zonda-paganis-r-rated-swansong-debuts/">unveiled back in February</a>, but this was as close as we've gotten to the vehicle in the carbon yet. It costs about $1.8 million, is constructed out of a carbon-titanium weave, packs 739 horsepower and features Pagani's first sequential gearbox, delivering extreme performance, with a 0-60 mph run of three seconds flat and a 233 mph top end.<br />
<br />
Pagani Deutschland had the Zonda R on display with the engine cover removed, and with good reason: the engine bay - really everything aft of the bulkhead - is a beautifully sculpted masterpiece of mechanical engineering, from the 6.0-liter hand-built Mercedes AMG V12 to the inboard F1-style shocks. Unfortunately, the comparatively small display of a local distributor (as opposed to an independent automaker) meant that we couldn't get the kind of beauty shots to which we'd hope you've become accustomed by now, but trust us when we say that in this case, you can bet the devil's in the details. Have a closer look in the gallery below.<br />

<br />When times are good, it's not uncommon to see supercars trading hands at well above their retail price, especially for limited-production exotica. But you'd figure that with the economy in shambles such speculation would have been all but completely eliminated. After all, we've already brought you <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/24/how-much-is-that-veyron-in-the-window-unique-pegaso-edition-bug/">several reports</a> of the owners of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/15/super-rare-supercar-bugatti-veyron-pur-sang-for-sale-in-abu-dha/">special-edition Bugatti Veyrons</a> selling their limited-production hypercars to raise a little liquid capital. But according to the latest reports, one exclusive high-end supercar is being traded as a solid investment.<br /><br />While the Pagani Zonda's price has risen dramatically over the years, its production numbers haven't. The original C12 launched in 2000 listed for &pound;200k ($300k by today's money, but a lot more back then) and only four were made. The C12S was launched two years later with a &pound;330k ($500k) price tag; coming in fixed-roof and roadster versions, 18 and 13 examples of each were built, respectively. By the time the Zonda F rolled around in 2005, prices had more than doubled over the original C12 to &pound;470k ($700k), and over the past four years Pagani has built 25 coupes and 25 roadsters. The new Zonda R track special commands a huge &pound;1.4m ($2m) price. But as much as the prices for new Zonda have skyrocketed, the trading price for used ones has defied the economy by shooting up, too. An original &pound;200k C12 is now worth 150% more at &pound;300k ($450k), while a &pound;470k Zonda F recently sold for nearly a million pounds sterling (about $1.5 million at today's rates). Buyers reportedly see the Zonda, whose supply is far exceeded by demand, as a sound investment when more conventional choices have proven unreliable. So there you have it, Bernie Madoff has driven up the demand for exotic Italian supercars.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/">Pagani Zonda F at Geneva 07</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/zondaf04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/zondaf05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/zondaf08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/zondaf09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-f-at-geneva-07/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/zondaf10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.croatiantimes.com/index.php?id=3630">Croatian Times</a> via <a href="http://www.topgear.com/us/blog/more/pagani-rising/">Top Gear</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/07/quick-returns-pagani-zondas-trading-over-list/">Quick Returns: Pagani Zondas trading over list</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 07 May 2009 09:31:00 EST. <br />The Pagani Zonda F Cinque seen here isn't a hybrid as in "green," it's a hybrid of the Pagani F and the Pagani Cinque. The car, slated to star at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Geneva-Auto-Show/">Geneva Auto Show</a>, is a one-of-a-kind Pagani simply meant to hold a place in our hearts while we wait for the Pagani Cinque to arrive next year.<br /><br />The car hasn't been finished yet, but the Zonda F Cinque is essentially a Zonda F in Cinque colors. That means you'll miss the roof intake and lower aero modifications of the Cinque, but you'll get the carbon fiber and silver exterior treatment, and the spoked mags with red accents. That isn't much different than a decal package, but this is a Pagani and there will only be one of them, which means we still look forward to bringing it to you next week from Geneva.<br /><br /><strong>UPDATE: </strong>We've heard from Pagani who claim that only the actual Zonda Cinque, the street version of the Zonda R, will be shown in Geneva. Seems this Zonda F Cinque was just a rumor. We'll find out the truth soon next week when we touch down in Switzerland.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-cinque/low/">Pagani Zonda Cinque</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-cinque/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/zonda-cinque-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-cinque/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/zonda-cinque-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-cinque/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/zonda-cinque-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-cinque/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/zonda-cinque-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.gtspirit.com/2009/02/26/pagani-zonda-f-cinque/">GT Spirit</a> via <a href="http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090226.032/one-off-pagani-zonda-f-cinque-to-show-in-geneva">World Car Fans</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/26/geneva-preview-pagani-bringing-hybrid-zonda-f-cinque/">Geneva Preview: Pagani bringing "hybrid" Zonda F Cinque</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 26 Feb 2009 19:58:00 EST. <br />While the closest that most of us will ever get to driving one of Horatio Pagani's creations will be via a Playstation or xBox controller, that doesn't mean we didn't nearly puddle ourselves at the mere sight of the new Zonda R. As we somehow missed out on an invitation when the car debuted in Vienna a few weeks ago, we are nonetheless happy to bring you these first official photos.<br /><br />Although the Zonda R's sexy self is a sendoff for the current model range, the exoticmaker reports that the car is in fact 90% new. Built using a spendy carbon-fiber/titanium mix (reportedly an industry first) and being at once longer, wider and lower than the Zonda F, the R figures to have real presence to go along with its 739-horsepower 6.0-liter V12 engine. Zonda says the supercar was inspired by Group C racers, and street legality was not a consideration.<br /><br />Thanks in part to its light weight (1,070 kilograms, or about 2,360 pounds) and Pagani's first-ever paddleshift gearbox, the rear-drive R will launch to 60 mph in three seconds dead and run up to a 233 mph top speed, provided Sir has paid the help to make sure the adjustable aero bits are properly tweaked.<br /><br />A total of 16 Zonda Rs are planned, with 15 being offered to the public (the 'extra' model will stay in company hands) at a tidy &euro;1.4M - about $1.8 million Yankee bucks. That's a shedload of cash to be sure, but given that the carbon-titanium work alone is said to have cost more than four times that of the Zonda F, it might actually be a small bargain. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/000paganizondar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/001paganizondar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/002paganizondar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/003paganizondar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r-7/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/004paganizondar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.imotormag.co.uk/news/198011/pagani_zonda_r_officially_unveiled.html">iMotor</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/help-me-zonda-paganis-r-rated-swansong-debuts/">Help Me, Zonda: Pagani's R-rated swansong debuts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 05 Feb 2009 12:35:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Pagani Zonda R</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The Pagani Zonda did something incredible. It proved that the supercar world did not revolve around Ferrari and Lamborghini. So to commemorate Horacio Pagani's achievement, the hypercarmaker has created one last version of the Zonda before its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/pagani-to-open-big-new-factory-in-2010/">replacement arrives next year</a>.<br /><br />After 24 months of development, and at the urging of an unnamed Italo-American customer that already owns three Zondas, the Pagani Zonda R was created as a lightweight, track-only variant of the iconic coupe. Production is limited to ten examples with a price tag of 1.4-million euro.<br /><br />Although the carbon fiber exterior is deceiving, the Pagani Zonda R only carries over 10% of its structure from its predecessors. The wheelbase has grown by 47mm, the overall length is 394mm longer and the track has been widened by 50mm. An all-new carbon fiber monocoque resides underneath the wind-tunnel tested body, along with a forged aluminum suspension, new six-speed sequential gearbox and four aero-spec fuel pumps that feed a Mercedes-Benz AMG-sourced 6.0-liter V12. Pagani claims the new heart - nestled into the 2,425-pound R - will produce 750 hp at 8,000 rpm and 524 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 248.54 mph. Air is fed into the bent-twelve through a carbon fiber air intake system, while an Inconel manifold and "F1-style" exhaust releases spent hydrocarbons and keeps engine temps in check.<br /><br />Pagani makes it clear that the Zonda R is a not street legal, and one owner is taking that to the illogical extreme. One of the first Zonda Rs to be delivered will be installed in the customer's living room and fitted with a bespoke stereo system to play the R's swan song as it rips around the Nurburgring and LeMans.<em> Hit the jump for the press release.</em><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Pagani | Image: <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fargentinaautoblog.blogspot.com%2F2009%2F01%2Fse-present-en-viena-el-pagani-zonda-r.html&amp;sl=es&amp;tl=en&amp;history_state0=">Argentina Auto Blog</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/15/pagani-zonda-r-officially-unveiled-in-vienna/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pagani Zonda R officially unveiled in Vienna</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/15/pagani-zonda-r-officially-unveiled-in-vienna/">Pagani Zonda R officially unveiled in Vienna</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 15 Jan 2009 15:24:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the Pagani Zonda R</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/PaganiZonda/">Pagani Zonda</a> is on its way to supercar heaven, due to be replaced by Horacio Pagani's next masterpiece, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/pagani-to-open-big-new-factory-in-2010/">currently code-named the C9</a>. To send off the current Zonda in style, Pagani is working on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/02/zonda-r-officially-announced/">Zonda R</a>, limiting production to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/07/new-pagani-zonda-r-renderings-released/">ten examples with a price tag of &euro;2,000,000</a>.<br /><br />Despite looking very similar to the Zonda F and its predecessors, the R only shares ten percent of the outgoing model's underpinnings, and instead, gets a sleek new shape that's 47mm longer, providing even more downforce through the use of a longer splitter, rear defuser and wing. <br /><br />Pagani has released four new renderings of its all-carbon fiber coupe, and according to Autoblog.it (no relation), Pagani won't be using the 750-hp, 7.3-liter Mercedes mill, instead opting for the 6.0-liter AMG V12 putting out similar hp and torque. Five road-going versions are planned, while the remaining five will be limited to circuit duty. We're hoping to finally see the Zonda R in person sometime next year, likely at the 2009 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GenevaMotorShow/">Geneva Motor Show</a>.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoblog.it%2Fpost%2F16272%2Fnuove-immagini-della-pagani-zonda-r&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;sl=it&amp;tl=en">Autoblog.it</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/23/pagani-releases-more-renderings-of-the-zonda-r/">Pagani releases more renderings of the Zonda R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 23 Oct 2008 15:58:00 EST. It seemed at the time that there just weren't enough orders for the vehicle for Pagani to be able to offer it. That issue could soon be rectified, if rumors floating around on the <a href="http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/bugatti-koenigsegg/6892-omg-i-creamed-my-pants-pagani-2.html">Teamspead forums</a> prove accurate. It seems that five roadgoing versions of the Zonda R will be created, known as the <a href="http://www.omniauto.it/magazine/5407/pagani-zonda-cinque-eccola">Zonda Cinque</a>, which, appropriately enough, means five in Italian. Could this version of the Zonda be what we've <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/14/spy-shots-next-pagani-zonda-packing-big-engine-bigger-intakes/">seen testing</a> in <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/01/spy-shots-pagani-zonda-test-mule/">spy shots</a> these last few months? It's hard to say for certain, but we do detect the pairs of triple headlights on both the spied cars and the supposed image above of the Cinque. Draw your own conclusions, but we think there is always room for another carbon fiber supercar in our dream garages.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/bugatti-koenigsegg/6892-omg-i-creamed-my-pants-pagani-2.html">Teamspeed Forums</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/30/pagani-to-make-five-street-legal-versions-of-the-zonda-r/">Pagani to make five street legal versions of the Zonda R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 30 May 2008 09:28:00 EST. The track-only version of the Zonda was announced around this time last year and in July we got word that it was <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/06/pagani-zonda-r-production-confirmed-c9-coming-to-america-in-200/">headed for production</a>. We're clearly excited to be in the presence of a car boasting 750 horsepower, a bare naked carbon fiber body and a price of 1.2 million euro. Unfortunately, while we'll be in attendance early next month at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the Pagani Zonda R will not be. <br /><br />Word has it that Pagani's intentionally delayed the development and official reveal of the Zonda R to focus on other projects, not the least of which is the car slated to replace the Zonda, internally known as the C9. The boutique exotic automaker originally claimed that it planned to sell only 10 examples of the Zonda R, but needed to sell all of them to cover the cost of the project. According to the source we linked, the last count was at six to eight buyers who had paid a deposit for the car. We're not sure if failing to meet the target number of buyers (if true) has derailed progress on the ultimate Zonda to some degree, but regardless, Pagani reportedly promises to provide more official specifications for the Zonda R, as well as photos, in the coming months. But for now, we've been stood up by the prettiest car at the show, and that hurts. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://argentinaautoblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/primicia-postergan-el-lanzamiento-del.html">Argentina Auto Blog</a> (no relation)]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/15/pagani-zonda-r-wont-be-at-geneva/">Pagani Zonda R won't be at Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 15 Feb 2008 14:53:00 EST. No matter. Awesome is awesome, regardless of everything else, and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/02/zonda-r-officially-announced/">Zonda R</a> belongs next to the term in the dictionary. As these latest computer renderings show, the carbon fiber-bodied Zonda R looks like some kind of formidable stealth weapon. Unfortunately for drivers, it most certainly is NOT invisible to radar, and this 7.3-liter, 750 horsepower, 523 lb-ft beast is more than capable of lighting up police-issue units with ridiculous numbers. Power is directed to the wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Autogespot puts the price at around &euro;2 Million (in the Netherlands, including taxes), which means it will be garage ornamentation for a very select few. <br /><br />This thing looks like it could go out and compete at Le Mans out of the box., and for &euro;2,000,000, maybe Pagani should throw in a pit crew, too. Enjoy the five new renderings like the one above that we've added to the gallery.<br /><br />[Source: Autogespot]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/07/new-pagani-zonda-r-renderings-released/">New Pagani Zonda R renderings released</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 07 Sep 2007 16:49:00 EST. The Zonda R is not a racer, but rather like the Ferrari FXX, it was built without regard to any rules package. The customer who initially commissioned it just wanted the fastest possible toy to play with on track days and with a 750hp engine derived from the Mercedes CLK GTR powerplant, that shouldn't be much of a problem.<br /><br />While it looks somewhat like the road-going Zonda F, it only shares 10% of it's parts and has a 47 mm longer wheelbase. The bodywork is optimized for down force, with a longer splitter, larger rear defuser, and more substantial rear wing, among other changes. At somewhere north $1.2 million, this is one exceedingly rare and pricey toy.<br /><br />See the press release after the jump.<br /><br />[Source: Pagani]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/">Pagani Zonda R</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/big_paganizondar_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/pagani-zonda-r/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/09/zonda-r_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/02/zonda-r-officially-announced/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Zonda R officially announced</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/02/zonda-r-officially-announced/">Zonda R officially announced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 02 Mar 2007 08:35:00 EST. No translating utility we could find was able to decipher the site's cryptic native language, but we've picked out what we can and combined with knowledge from elsewhere on the net can tell you that the Zonda R will feature a 750bhp V12 engine likely sourced from Mercedes that also produces 523 ft-lbs. of twist. The current king of Pagani's stable is the Zonda F, which produces 594 hp in stock trim from a Mercedes 7.3L V12. From the pictures it is also clear that the Zonda R will be longer and lower than current models and be fitted with a number of aero enhancements to keep it sucked to the ground at high speeds. Chances are it will probably lighter, as well. <br /><br />Clearly the Zonda R takes after such exclusive track cars as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/12/02/world-debut-of-ferrari-fxx/">Ferrari Enzo FXX</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2005/04/22/maserati-mc12-enjoys-enzo-roots/">Maserati MC12</a>. It will likely be produced in numbers even more limited than a standard Zonda and purchasing probably comes from invitation only. Street legal? Not likely. <br /><br />[Source: Sportbilen.se]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/26/geneva-preview-pagani-zonda-r/">Geneva Preview: Pagani Zonda R</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 26 Feb 2007 14:58:00 EST.
