At some point during the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, Nissan sold its 10,000th Leaf in America. Not bad for an all-electric car that has been on sale for just over a year and is not yet available in all 50 states (this landmark will be achieved by March, though). Brendan Jones, the Leaf's marketing and sales strategist for Nissan North America, was understandably enthusiastic: "From a Leaf perspective, 2011 was a great year and very positive for the company. [10,000 sales] is more EVs than have been

83Nissan thinking of fourth electric vehicle model; what would you choose?

Despite three months of downward-trending Leaf sales, Nissan is still bullish on rolling out more electric vehicles. We know that Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has said he wants to bring at least three and more likely four Nissan EVs to market in the U.S. in the next few years. 10Nissan Pivo 3 inches closer to production

Every other year, Nissan trots out another Pivo concept to the Tokyo Motor Show, and each successive version is weirder than the next. But this latest version – the predictably named Pivo 3 – is different. Nissan wants to build it, and while its awkward shape and trick doors won't make it to production, much of the underlying tech will.

AddNissan Forklifts announces new lithium batteries that forecast EV

Nissan has announced a new range of forklifts that use lithium ion batteries provided by Nissan and NEC's joint venture AESC. Nissan states that this is part of its Nissan GT 2012 strategy to produce an EV for the U. S. in 2010 and 2012 in the rest of the world. The new forklift mo

The Pivo electric car is powered by lithium ion batteries and is capable of crab-walking its way into tight parking spots due to its 90-degree rotating wheels. The Pivo also eliminates the need for a reverse gear, as its cabin is capable of rotating to face in either directi

digg_url = 'http://digg.com/tech_news/More_of_Nissan_s_Pivo_2'; We just wrote about Nissan's new electric concept car Pivo 2.
