<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Lamborghini Murci&eacute;lago LP640 by Premier4509 - Click above for high-res image</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> The end of Murci&eacute;lago is upon us. The steel-framed supercar from Sant'Agata has been on the market since 2001. Since then, Lamborghini has produced over 3,000 of them. But only 350 are <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/08/pics-aplenty-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> spec, and you can bet the other 2,650+ owners are jealous. However, while the SV's 670-horsepower engine remains the exclusive purview of the most extreme Lambo to date, one aftermarket firm has risen up to the challenge of giving existing "base" Murci&eacute;lago owners the coveted look of the SuperVeloce.<br /> <br /> You may remember Premier4509 for producing body kits for such exotics as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/21/premier4509-launches-kit-for-outgoing-lamborghini-gallardo/">Lamborghini Gallardo</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/01/premier4509-announces-bentley-continental-gt-aero-body-kit/">Bentley Continental GT </a>and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/25/premier4509-limited-edition-body-kit-for-aston-martin-v8-vantage/">Aston Martin V8 Vantage</a>. Japanese tuner fanboys and gamers may sooner recognize its parent company, VeilSide. But the Japanese outfit has now released a simple visual mod for the Murci&eacute;lago to give it that SV look. Essentially all it is - for the time being at least - is a new bumper, blacked out on bottom and protruding like a cowcatcher. Coupled with a big rear wing and blacked-out quarter-panel intakes and mirrors, though, and it's a dead ringer SV. <br /> <br /> Premier4509 says they've got an accompanying rear bumper in the works as well, and will only produce 300 examples of the body kit, so there's another couple thousand Murci owners still left out in the cold. And while it may not have the power advantage, even an "ordinary" Murci&eacute;lago won't stick around long enough for anyone to notice.<br /> <br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.premier4509.com/">Premier4509</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/08/premier4509-gives-your-lamborghini-murcielago-the-sv-look/">Premier4509 gives your Lamborghini Murciélago the SV look</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 08 Oct 2009 18:00:00 EST. <br />Reiter Engineering used last weekend's 24 Hours of Spa race to reveal its Murcielago LP670 R-SV, a GT1 race-ready version of the already hardened LP 670-4 SV. The box-stock Lambo already shed 220 pounds compared to its non SV brethren, weighing in at 3,451 pounds. The Reiter racer, stripped of any non-essentials and with a body rendered entirely in carbon fiber, drops further 921 pounds to weigh in at just 2,530 pounds (1,150 kg). <br /><br />Reiter is hoping the car will be one of the six allowable brands chosen for next year's FIA GT World Championship. You can read the press release on the taurean missile after the jump, and check out the gallery of high-res photos below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/">Reiter Engineering LP670 R-SV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/01_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/03_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/05_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/07_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/reiter-engineering-lp670-r-sv/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/09_reiter_lp670sv_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.reiter-engineering.com/raceteam/raceteam.html">Reiter Engineering</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/27/reiter-engineering-unveils-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-r-sv-at/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Reiter Engineering unveils Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 R-SV at Spa</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/27/reiter-engineering-unveils-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-r-sv-at/">Reiter Engineering unveils Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 R-SV at Spa</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 11:00:00 EST. <div align="center"><strong><small><em><strong>Lamborghini LP670-4 SV - Click above for high-res image gallery</strong></em></small><br /></strong></div>
<strong> <small><br /></small></strong>We were a bit shocked to see the newest Lamborghini supercar at our favorite weekly car gathering in Southern California this weekend. After debuting at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Geneva-Motor-Show/">Geneva Motor Show</a> back in March, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">LP670-4 SV</a> skipped the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/New-York-Auto-Show/">New York Auto Show</a> and had its U.S. unveiling at a private event in Las Vegas recently. The guys at Lambo evidently figured Irvine was only a couple of hours away, so they swung by Cars &amp; Coffee to show it off. It received quite a bit of attention, although the crowd couldn't convince the Lambo rep to drift it <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/">&agrave; la Hubinette</a>.<br /><br />As we've told you before, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/officially-official-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">newest Murcielago</a> derivative gets a bump in horsepower compared to the 670, while torque stays the same at 487 lb&middot;ft. Combined with a 220-pound weight shaving, that's good enough to drop the 0-62 mph sprint to just 3.2 seconds and raise the vmax to 212 mph. Unless, of course the car has the optional, larger, fixed "Aeropack Wing," which this one does. That limits top speed to "just" 209 mph, but adds just the right amount of ostentatiousness this Lambo deserves.<br /><br />The LP670-4 doesn't look like your average Murci&eacute;lago in other ways, either. It features many of the styling cues first deployed on the mega-spendy Reventon. Up front the air intakes have been made larger for better brake cooling and the front spoiler extends much farther. A new engine cover also features a similar triple hexagon transparent polymer plate setup on a bed of carbon fiber. The interior has also been upgraded with a revised dash and Alcantara throughout, which features stitching that matches the exterior color of the car. <br /><br />We couldn't coax the driver into letting us take it for a spin, but hopefully we'll get one for a review before the temp in Hades dips below 32. Check out our latest gallery below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/">Lamborghini LP670-4 SV at Cars and Coffee</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-lp670-4-sv-at-cars-and-coffee/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/lamborghinilp670-4sv---05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><strong><br /><em><strong><small>All photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://www.frank4cars.com">Frank Filipponio</a>/Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/20/latest-lamborghini-supercar-stops-for-some-coffee-in-the-states/">Only Lamborghini LP670-4 in the U.S. unexpectedly stops for some coffee in California</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 12:38:00 EST. <br />Some automakers run their racing programs in-house, and some choose to out-source. While its principal rival falls under the former, Lamborghini opts for the latter, giving its blessing to German motorsport garage Reiter Engineering to campaign race-prepped Raging Bulls in European sportscar series. Earlier this month we brought you the first details and images on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/06/reiter-engineering-launches-new-gallardo-lp560-gt2/">Reiter's latest racecar, a Gallardo LP560-4 prepped for the GT2 class</a>. With that out of the way, Reiter is now reportedly turning its attention to its next project for the top-tier GT1 class. It's basis: the spankin' new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/officially-official-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">Murcielago SV</a>.<br /><br />The ultimate version of the Lamborghini supercar was just <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">revealed at the Geneva Auto Show</a> last month, but the boffins at Reiter Engineering aren't about to waste any time. No details yet, but if the rear-drive-only LP560 GT2 is any indication, we can expect Reiter to axe the Murci's all-wheel-drive system to save weight as well. The GT1-spec Murcielago SV is being developed for the 2010 season, when the FIA GT Championship will be split into the GT2 European Championship and the GT1 World Championship. While the aforementioned LP560 will take on the former, the competition Superveloce will take on the likes of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/07/fia-gt1-nissan-gt-r-revealed-in-full-with-600-hp-v8/">Nismo GT-R</a>, Ford GT and two or three more anticipated models, each supplying a maximum of two teams with two cars each, in the latter that will include races in Argentina, Australia, South Africa and the UAE in addition to the European events. <br /><br />Reiter's been known to turn the racing versions of Lamborghini's roadcars back into street machinery, with examples like the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/26/one-more-for-the-road-reiter-engineering-builds-gallardo-gt3-fo/">Gallardo GT3 Strada</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/15/reiter-engineering-offers-street-legal-version-of-murcielago-r-g/">Murcielago R-GT Strada</a> in its repertoire, but we couldn't imagine them taking the street-bound SV to even more extreme grounds... could we?<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/">Geneva 2009: Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74362">Autosport</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/14/reiter-engineering-developing-gt1-spec-lamborghini-murcielago-sv/">Reiter Engineering developing GT1-spec Lamborghini Murcielago SV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 14 Apr 2009 10:01:00 EST. <br />Sam Hubinette is one lucky guy. The Crazy Swede gets sideways in an 800-horsepower Dodge Viper for his day job and does occasional stunt driving in his off time. Last year Lamborghini hired him to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/21/sam-hubinettes-lamborghini-lp-560-drifting-video/">drift the Gallardo LP560-4 in the streets of Los Angeles</a> for a commercial, and they must have liked it so much that they hired him again to burn rubber in the brand, brand new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-lp-670-4-superveloce/">Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> in Germany. The video is the first we have seen of the car outside the show floor of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Geneva-Motor-Show/">Geneva Motor Show</a>, and while shorter than the Gallardo vid, it does at least provide a soundtrack for the upgraded V12 that's now producing 670 horsepower. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-drifting-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-sv/">Follow the jump</a> to watch the video. <em>Thanks for the tip, Saikou!</em><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/">Geneva 2009: Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-lamborghini-murci-lago-lp-670-4-superveloce/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-lp-670-4-superveloce_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCJOEZO1lGA">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Hubinette drifts the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/13/video-hubinette-drifts-the-lamborghini-murcielago-lp670-4-super/">VIDEO: Hubinette drifts the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:29:00 EST. <p>Lamborghini got us all up in a twist with the revelation of this <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/16/paris-preview-lamborghini-teases-new-mystery-car/">small teaser image</a> that shows only an exhaust and a diffuser on a new model slated for unveiling in a couple of weeks at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Paris-Motor-Show/">Paris Motor Show</a>. While <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/17/educated-guesstimation-lamborghini-bringing-four-door-sedan-to/">previous reports postulated</a> that Lamborghini was preparing to unveil a four-door model, the latest suggest, somewhat more credibly, that the new vehicle is actually the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/15/spy-shots-lamborghini-murcielago-sv-snapped/">Superveloce version of the Murcielago LP640</a>.</p>
<p>Like the Reventon, the Superveloce may command a considerable premium at 382,400 euros (almost double the price of the regular Murcielago) and could be offered in extremely limited numbers of just 100 units. In return, buyers will get an exclusive lightweight supercar with styling inspired by the Reventon and an additional 30-40 horsepower on tap. When it becomes available sometime next year as a 2010 model, the LP640 SV will likely be the last distinguishable version of the Murcielago before the exotic, originally introduced back in 2001, is replaced by an all-new model. Of course, these reports could be inaccurate as well, especially if Lamborghini hopes to live up to the presumptuous line that accompanied the teaser image - <em>It's not just a new Lamborghini. It's a new world.</em> - with anything more than another special edition of an aging model.</p>

Seen here undergoing some on-track testing, the SV will reportedly serve up some 680 horsepower from its Lambo V12 behind the seats. It will also be lighter than a normal Murcielago by 220 pounds. Clearly visible on the car is a new fixed rear wing that's either meant to assist in take offs or stabilize the car at high-speeds. Expect carbon fiber to be a common build material, as well. Those are all some potent variables for a formula that guarantees a fun time. <br /><br />The Murcielago SV will be the latest in a string of new models from Lamborghini lately including the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/03/01/geneva-motor-show-lamborghini-murcielago-lp640-world-premiere/">LP640</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/11/frankfurt-motor-show-the-lamborghini-reventon-revealed/">Reventon</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/20/new-york-2008-lamborghini-lp560-4-makes-american-debut/">Gallardo LP560-4</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/26/lamborghini-gallardo-superleggera-revealed/">Gallardo Superleggera</a>, among others. <p>Autocar is reporting that Lamborghini is preparing a lightweight, more powerful RWD SV model for 2009 that will end the Murcielago's production with a bang (or crazy amounts of burning rubber and engine revving, whichever you prefer). As with the Gallardo Superleggera, weight savings will be a key, and anywhere from 100 to 130 kg could be dropped from the LP640. The removal of the front differential and driveshaft will save 40 kg alone. Other weight savings will come from the use of carbon fiber and magnesium components, lightweight wheels, and the removal of the sound system, although it can be added back in at the request of the customer (who needs a stereo when you have Lamborghini's V12 behind you?). The final version of this 6.5-liter motor could have as much as 680 horsepower and 516 lb-ft torque that will be mated to Lambo's E-Gear transmission. Take that, Ferrari!</p>
