The Maserati MC12 is a rare beast. Only 25 were made in 2005 and just seven of those were federalized for use in the United States, one of which is this blue-and-white gem you see above. Similar to its brother, the Ferrari Enzo, the MC12 shares not only the Ferrari 6.0-liter V12, but the same hefty price tag, as well. The current bid for this particular example is over $1,200,000 and still under the reserve. Originally owned by a collector in Florida, it is up for sale by Lamborghini of Las Vegas and only has 521 miles clocked on the odometer. If you liked Edo Competition's MC12 XX, then you're gonna love this. The German tuner is not afraid to enhance the most extreme (and rare) road cars available, and has gone and done its thing on one of the twelve Maserati MC12 Corsa supercars in existence (not counting the additional three prototypes the Italian automaker produced).

First off is a three-way adjustable front suspension. That's augmented with a set of ceramic composite brakes (massive 15.6-inch discs in front) that hide behind black forged alloys. The last thing Edo did was to install a new high-flow exhaust which apparently sounds like evil on a stick. God only knows what the work cost, but since the owner had the cabbage to take home an MC12 Corsa in the first place, chances are that the upgrade pricing wasn't a consideration. With 755 horsepower on tap, this orange-and-black speed merchant must look like Halloween on warp drive when it flies by.

We'll keep this simple: three of the world's finest supercars in one of the world's best supercar playgrounds. The hardcore action doesn't go much beyond each car getting a solo peelout. However, each machine does get plenty of individual, loving, lifestyle-themed attention. And the sights and sounds -- ah, sehr gut and che bella. Enjoy the video after the jump.

Maserati is augmenting its Ferrari Enzo-based MC12 GTI with a new Corsa variant. The triton brand plans to build just a dozen examples on a "build to order" basis, and doesn't expect to go through the certification process to for either racing or road use, meaning that Corsa owners will essentially be limited to trackday outings, clandestine late-night runs, or rubbing the Maser's straked flanks with a diaper in hopes of having it appreciate.

With the $1.275 million price tag, comparisons to the Bugatti Veyron are to be expected, but the latter is a road-going street car with a luxurious interior, absurdly powerful W16 all-wheel-drive drivetrain, and the curb weight to match. The MC12 Corsa has a comparatively timid 755 horsepower, but it's also just 2,535 pounds. In other words, they're two markedly different, yet similarly pricy interpretations of the modern supercar.
