Many of the tuners here at the Geneva Motor Show have little to no restraint when it comes to styling, which is why we appreciate subtlety when we see it. Lumma Design, hailing from Winterlingen, Germany, offers an example of such restraint with its CLR 9 S based on the new 991 Porsche 911. The styling package includes a tasteful strip package, a new front clip with an integrated splitter and a three-piece spoiler at the rear. A new set of quad exhaust tips also peek out from the rear fascia.

Inside, the CLR 9 S features a slathering of new leather and Alcantara on the seats, dashboard and door panels. Carbon leather trim can also be found on the steering wheel, center console and shifter.

The 2011 BMW X6 doesn't exactly need any help in the ridiculous department. From its questionable purpose and usefulness to its enormous, bulbous proportions and Herculean power figures, this thing has elective purchase written all over it.

Now, though, thanks to Germany's Lumma Design, it is - you guessed it - more ridiculous. To start with, the company bolted on huge 22-inch wheels to complement a complete body kit. Inside, there's a custom dash, steering wheel and sport seats, all in two-tone leather.

Under the hood, Lumma has cranked the X6's diesel up to 340 horses, which should give your two feet plenty to think about when you're in stunna mode. Full press blast after the jump.
Continue reading BMW X6 gets even more extreme at the hands of Lumma Design

BMW X6 gets even more extreme at the hands of Lumma Design originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 11 Jul 2011 16:59:00 EST.
Germany's Lumma Design has shown a knack for modifying and reskinning German performance sedans, but has this time turned its attention to the Porsche Cayenne with a custom body kit.

Called the CLR 558 GT, the kit's questionable aesthetics pack a new front end with spoiler, bigger air intakes and integrated LED running lights, a rear diffuser, flared wheel arches and side sills. The hood has also been replaced with a vented carbon-Kevlar piece, the exhaust has been replaced with a triple-tipped stainless system and the stock wheels have been ditched in favor of 22-inch modulars with colored rims.

The interior has been upgraded with such special touches as rubber-studded milled aluminum pedals, custom door sills, leather-trimmed floor and cargo mats. The result may not be the most comprehensive modification of the Cayenne to date, but it does give the SUV a... different look. See for yourself in the high-res image gallery and the (somewhat awkwardly translated) press release after the jump.
Continue reading Lumma Design strikes again with Porsche Cayenne rebody

Lumma Design strikes again with Porsche Cayenne rebody originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 14 Jun 2011 14:30:00 EST.
No matter which way you look at it, the latest BMW 7 Series is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor in terms of styling. But if you're looking for something a little more aggressive, Lumma Design has an answer for you: A lot of carbon fiber ought to do the trick.

Much as it has done for just about everything else made in the Fatherland, the German tuner has released a raft of carbon bits for the flagship Bimmer. Included in the package are a new grille, door handles, door mirror housings, front bumper with integrated LEDs, a quad-tip exhaust and massive 22-inch wheels riding on ultra low-profile rubber.

Lumma being more into design than engine tuning, the mechanical bits of the car remain untouched, but you can get a closer look in the gallery below.
Lumma Design CLR 730 RS - Click above for high-res image gallery

With its latest creation, the CLR 730 RS, it seems that Lumma Design is making a play for the title of Europe's most garish tuner. However, this two-tone widebody BMW M5 is actually subtle compared to previous Lumma Design models, and we think the title still firmly remains with Mansory.

So what's special about the CLR 730 RS? For starters, 730 horsepower. The 50% increase in chutzpah comes from a set of twin-superchargers courtesy of G-Power, and Lumma Design claims an impressive top speed of 228 mph. Additional performance upgrades come in the form of a sport suspension, six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, and an upgraded exhaust system.

The candy cane interior of the CLR 730 RS is even more over-the-top than the outside, with a combination of carbon fiber, leather, and suede. It's not really our style, but we would probably be more accepting of it in a more subtle color. We have plenty of high-res photos in the gallery below, and Lumma Design's press release has full details after the jump.
Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. And with the whole world beholding the new Porsche Panamera, the myriad tuning firms specializing in Zuffenhausen's finest have been lining up in an effort to give the new four-door a makeover. Following earlier mods released by Gemballa and 9ff, German tuning house Lumma Design has released its take on the Panamera.

Codified as the CLR 700GT, Lumma's Panamera packs a widebody kit with a new front end, engorged wheel arches housing 22-inch rims and upgraded brakes riding on a suspension dropped by 1.38 inches, and joined by sills that look like they could hold a small reference library. Around back there's a big ol' carbon fiber rear wing and a revised rear bumper with aerodynamic diffuser and quad tailpipes. Underneath the slatted carbon fiber hood Lumma is said to have cranked out an eponymous 700 metric horsepower. Together with the trio of renderings in the gallery below, that's all the details available for the time being. Whether Lumma's latest is an improvement on the original or comes closer to slapping Maybelline on a hog is, of course, entirely a matter of opinion, and we invite you to express yours in our comments section below.
This is the CLR 500 R-S, a heavily modified M5 done by the German tuning house Lumma Design. They've taken a base M5 and fitted it with giant 21-inch wheels, a wide-body kit and menacing diffusers in the back that have actually been wind-tunnel tested. The car has also been lowered a full 40mm on an H&R sport suspension. In order to back up the show with some go, Lumma has added a racing exhaust and high-flow catalytic converters, along with an ECU upgrade to coordinate the increased airflow. Power from BMW's V10 has in turn been increased to 560 hp, good enough to reportedly break the 200 mph barrier. The interior has also been gussied up with matching orange leather trim, orange dials in the gauge pod and a new Lumma-designed steering wheel made from anodized aluminum. We're actually crushing on the CLR's two-tone paint job, as it highlights the very interesting lines of the 5-Series. There's no word on how much it will cost you to turn your M5 into a CLR 500 R-S, but as we've said in the past, if you have to ask...

[Source: Allcarnews]

Gallery: Lumma Design BMW M5 CLR 500 R-S

Tuner Tuesday: Lumma Design's 560HP CLR M5 originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 30 Jan 2007 12:31:00 EST.
