<br /> Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM had high hopes for its first foray into the world of four-wheeled motoring, but that was before the economy took a dive. Now reports suggest that the company has had to rethink how many of its X-Bow track cars it can sell, but further than that, they've had to stop production as supply outstrips demand.<br /> <br /> KTM originally figured on building 500 units of the X-Bow each year, but soon thereafter increased their targets to 1000 per year. So far the factory in Graz, Austria, has built 500. Unfortunately, only 80 of those have reportedly been sold. According to reports coming from across the Atlantic, the extra stock has forced KTM to stop production altogether while it tries to sell the units it has on hand, with production not expected to resume again until January 2010.<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: <a href="http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=20491">PistonHeads</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/24/report-ktm-halts-production-x-bow-production/">REPORT: KTM halts X-Bow production</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 24 Aug 2009 14:31:00 EST. <br />MTM tunes all things Audi, so it didn't take long for the firm to tweak the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/KTMXBow/">KTM X-Bow</a> (with its VAG-sourced inline-four) and the all-new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/AudiTTS/">Audi TTS</a>. Of the two, the X-Bow gets the milder tuning (if that's possible), with the 2.0-liter TFSI four-pot getting a boost in output from 240 to 318 horsepower. Torque rises accordingly, with 310 lb-ft on tap, sent through a modified six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. Four-piston Brembos with 305 mm discs are nestled within 18-inch wheels coated in Nokain Hakkapeliita-4 rubber sized 245/40. Although MTM doesn't cite a revised 0-60 mph time, it claims a top speed of 156 mph (one mph more than stock).<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/1470353/"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/02-mtm-audi-tt-s_250op.jpg" alt="" /></a>For those who are looking for a more friendly daily driver but aren't willing to wait around for the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/TTRS/">TTRS</a>, the MTM-tuned TTS boasts 380 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque from an upgraded turbocharger that huffs 22.5 psi of boost into the 2.0-liter's four cylinders. A new intake and exhaust manifold is fitted, along with eight-piston Brembos clamping onto 380mm discs, with 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (245/30) tires. A 330 hp version is also available, starting at &euro;63,103 ($85k USD), while the full-bore 380 hp package will set you back &euro;73,715 (a cool $99k USD).<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-xbow-by-mtm/low/">KTM XBow by MTM</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-xbow-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/05-mtm-ktm-xbow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-xbow-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/06-mtm-ktm-xbow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-xbow-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/07-mtm-ktm-xbow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-xbow-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/08-mtm-ktm-xbow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/">Audi TT-S by MTM</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/01-mtm-audi-tt-s_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/02-mtm-audi-tt-s_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/03-mtm-audi-tt-s_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/04-mtm-audi-tt-s_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-tt-s-by-mtm/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/05-mtm-audi-tt-s_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/03/mtm-tunes-up-the-ktm-x-bow-and-audi-tts/">MTM tunes up the KTM X-Bow and Audi TTS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 03 Apr 2009 19:56:00 EST. <div align="center"><strong><em><small>Click above for high-res gallery of the KTM X-Bow ROC</small></em></strong><br /></div>
<br />Late last month we <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/20/ktm-bringing-two-world-premiers-to-geneva/">learned</a> that KTM was planning to bring two new versions of its X-Bow roadster to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GenevaMotorShow/">Geneva Motor Show</a>. One of those machines is the new X-Bow ROC edition, and our men on the scene managed to assemble a gallery of live shots of the new model that you can view in the gallery below. This new ROC edition was built to commemorate the Austrian firm's inclusion in last year's 2008 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/15/spoiler-roc-crowns-new-champion-among-motorsports-best/">Race of Champions</a>, so it fittingly features a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque shell and adds a sports exhaust to Audi's 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection four-cylinder mill that's shared with other models in the range. Unique paint and badges also help set it apart from lesser X-Bows.<br /><br />Despite the fact this new model shares plenty of special bits with the top-level Superlight X-Bow, KTM was able to price the limited edition ROC model rather aggressively with a base MSRP of 69,980 euros - a full 10,000 less than its pricier sibling. Also new is the X-Bow Street, which retails for an even more wallet-friendly 49,980 euros. Read the full press release from KTM after the break.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/">Geneva 2009: KTM X-Bow ROC</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/01-gev-09-ktm-roc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/02-gev-09-ktm-roc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/03-gev-09-ktm-roc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/04-gev-09-ktm-roc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/05-gev-09-ktm-roc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: KTM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/05/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Geneva 2009: KTM X-Bow ROC unveiled for those who like to race champions</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/05/geneva-2009-ktm-x-bow-roc/">Geneva 2009: KTM X-Bow ROC unveiled for those who like to race champions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 13:57:00 EST. Unfortunately, the motorcycle-manufacturer-turned-track-toy-purveyor hasn't released any details about what's on the way, but a quick look into the Autoblog archives gives us a glimpse of what to expect.<br /><br />Back in July, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/15/ktm-bringing-faster-harder-x-bow-to-geneva-in-2009/">reports surfaced</a> that KTM was working on a harder, faster X-Bow that will use the Audi S3's 261-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter, and will be offered in both <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/25/ktm-planning-closed-coupe-and-off-road-versions-of-x-bow/">open-top and fixed-roof variants</a>. KTM is also <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/09/ktm-preparing-low-cost-clean-city-cars-and-suv/">rumored to be hooking up with Baja Auto</a>, India's third-largest automaker, on a eco-friendly runabout that sports seating for four in a package that's about the size of a Tuk-Tuk. We'll go out on a limb and say that KTM will unveil an off-road version of the X-Bow that's ready to tackled Dakar, but we'll know for sure the first week of March.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/">FH JOANNEUM KTM concepts</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/ktm_ax_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/ktm_ax_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/ktm_ax_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/sr85deuce_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/fh-joanneum-ktm-concepts/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/sr85deuce_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/20/ktm-bringing-two-world-premiers-to-geneva/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM bringing two world premieres to Geneva</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/20/ktm-bringing-two-world-premiers-to-geneva/">KTM bringing two world premieres to Geneva</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 20 Feb 2009 19:32:00 EST. <br />Motoren Technik Mayer (MTM) has tuned almost every product in the Volkswagen/Audi stable, so it makes sense that they'd work their magic on the turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI found in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/KTMXBow/">KTM X-Bow</a>.<br /><br />The boosted four has proven to be just as tweakable as the venerable 1.8T it replaced, and MTM is has announced plans to raise output of the X-Bow from 237 to 380 hp. Torque figures should rise accordingly (we're guessing something in the neighborhood of 350 lb-ft) and the 0-60 times will surely drop from the factory-stated 3.9-seconds -- assuming MTM can get the additional ponies to the ground in a civilized fashion.<br /><br />Expect a range of brake, wheel and suspension upgrades to be included, and hope that MTM offers its wares in the States if the KTM makes good on its promise to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/25/coming-to-america-street-legal-ktm-x-bow/">bring the X-Bow to the U.S.</a><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.mtm-online.de/en/">MTM</a> via <a href="http://www.zercustoms.com/news/MTM-KTM-X-Bow.html">Zercustoms</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/18/mtm-creating-380-hp-ktm-x-bow/">MTM creating 380-hp KTM X-Bow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 19:19:00 EST. <br />Given the chance to take the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/KTMXBow/">KTM X-Bow</a> into any environment, a wintery wonderland wouldn't be one of them. But KTM wants to allow its mid-engine track tool to weather all the seasons - and peddle a few more of its PowerParts and PowerWear accessories to its drivers. X-Bow owners can choose from either central-locking or five-bolt wheels wrapped in Pirelli Sottozero snow tires, along with an optional set of chains. And even though <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/25/ktm-planning-closed-coupe-and-off-road-versions-of-x-bow/">a fixed roof is planned for future models</a>, the current generation X-Bow's occupants will have to deal with the climes clothed in Sch&ouml;ffel jacket and pants, and matching Schuberth helmet. The full line of winter wear will set you back 950 euros, and when you arrive at your chilly destination, you can wrap the X-Bow in either an indoor cover (380 euro) or an outdoor cloak for 325 euro. We think we'll pass and wait for spring.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/">KTM X-Bow Winter Wear</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/01_xbow_winter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/02_xbow_winter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/03_xbow_winter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/04_xbow_winter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-winter-wear/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/05_xbow_winter_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/12/for-why-ktm-offers-winter-wear-for-your-x-bow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>For Why? <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res image gallery of the Racer X Design Formula RZ</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />The term "F1 car for the road" is as clich&eacute;d as "Darth Vader's new ride," but it's hard to look at the Racer X Design Formula RZ without drawing a comparison to open-wheeled track tools, along with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/KTMXBow/">KTM X-Bow</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/07/geneva-2008-japanese-ambition-the-k07-spyder/">K07 Spyder</a>.<br /><br />Racer X Design first appeared on our radar with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/17/racer-x-design-kc-427-concept-offers-modern-interpretation-of-th/">KC-427 Concept</a>, a modern interpretation of the Cobra powered by a theoretical 6.4-liter V10. The Formula RZ takes a different tack, combing the attributes of the pioneering <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/ArielAtom/">Ariel Atom</a> and the aforementioned X-Bow and K07 with a customizable body - complete with removable nose cone and wing -- aimed at delivering a pure driving experience for a party of two.<br /><br />The Formula RZ is simply a design study at the moment, so there's no mention of powerplants, gearboxes or curb weights, but that doesn't stop us from fantasizing about how the RZ would attack the track, and it shouldn't stop you from checking the renderings in the gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/">Racer X Design Formula RZ</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/01_formula_rz_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/02_formula_rz_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/03_formula_rz_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/04_formula_rz_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/racer-x-design-formula-rz/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/05_formula_rz_render_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://74.125.93.104/translate_c?hl=en&amp;sl=fr&amp;tl=en&amp;u=http://www.reubenzammit.com/rz_formula.html&amp;usg=ALkJrhi04CU2TwIMQ7wJ50sHRZxW-aD0ng">Racer X Design</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/10/rendered-speculation-racer-x-design-rz-formula/">Rendered Speculation: Racer X Design RZ Formula </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 10 Dec 2008 17:29:00 EST. <p>One look at the KTM X-Bow should tell you it's about as close to a race car for the road as you're ever likely to see. Add to that the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/15/ktm-x-bow-captures-gt4-sports-light-championship/">European GT4 Sports Light championship</a> and it pretty much seals the deal. But if that still isn't enough, here comes the news that the 2008 Race of Champions has chosen the super-light Austrian track car to compete in this year's event.</p>
<p>For the uninitiated, the Race of Champions takes place every year, fielding a roster including some of the best racers from various motor sport disciplines on two wheels and four against each other on identical machinery. Each year the list of vehicles is changed, and has in the past included Ferrari, Aston Martins, Porsches, Renaults, Abarths, various rally cars and a specially-made sprint car. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/ktm-x-bow-suzuki-hayabusa-engined-car-tested-for-race-of-champi/">Last month,</a> RoC officials took a look at the X-Bow, alongside a 4WD racer powered by a pair of Suzuki Hyabusa motorcycle engines, but the final decision just came down. You'll be able to watch the X-Bow, along with the rest of the motor-pool, being man-handled by some of the world's greatest, including F1's Sebastian Vettel, WRC's Sebastien Loeb, DTM's Mattias Ekstrom and WTCC's Andy Priaulx along with recently retired legends Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard at Wembley in London on December 14. <em>More info in the press release after the jump, and images in the gallery below.</em></p>

<br />KTM has performed well during the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/13/ktm-confirms-participation-in-gt4-with-x-bow/">X-Bow's campaign in the European GT4 Sports Light series</a>, winning the championship in its inaugural season. In fact, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/26/ktm-gt4-x-bow-revealed/">the KTM X-Bow</a> claimed the top three spots at the end of the 18-round series, and in the process, KTM's first four-wheeled street racer managed to beat out a slew of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/23/donkervoort-d8-gt-in-production-sales-begin-in-june/">Donkervoorts</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/search/?q=lotus+exige&amp;invocationType=wl-auto&amp;searchsubmit=">Lotuses</a>. German X-Bow driver Christopher Haase piloted the KaTooM to a number of victories and won the driver's championship in the process. Somewhat amazingly, the angular little orange and black roadster was even able to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/22/ktm-x-bow-takes-class-win-in-gt4-annoys-astons-and-vettes/">pick on</a> much larger and more powerful competition, like Aston Martins, Ford Mustangs and Corvettes. <br /><br />We think it's fair to call the X-Bow a success for KTM, which now looks forward to bigger and better things. Up next is an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/15/ktm-bringing-faster-harder-x-bow-to-geneva-in-2009/">even faster version</a> of its racer as well as a range of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/09/ktm-preparing-low-cost-clean-city-cars-and-suv/">city cars and off-roaders</a>. Lest we should forget where the company's roots are, there are plenty of new sporting two-wheelers in the pipeline as well.<br /><br />[Source: KTM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/15/ktm-x-bow-captures-gt4-sports-light-championship/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM X-Bow captures GT4 Sports Light championship</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/15/ktm-x-bow-captures-gt4-sports-light-championship/">KTM X-Bow captures GT4 Sports Light championship</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 15 Oct 2008 18:28:00 EST. <br />Americans may be more familiar with the International Race of Champions, IROC for short, due to that race's popularity in the '80s and '90s and for the Chevy Camaros and Dodge Daytonas affixed with the badge. In the rest of the world, though, the more popular series is called the <a href="http://www.raceofchampions.com/">Race of Champions</a>, but the idea is the same. Take top drivers from various racing leagues and pit them in similar cars against each other on a number of different race tracks. This year, the ROC's organizers are testing a bunch of cars to be used for the next event, including the track-ready KTM X-Bow and a wild-sounding contraption that uses twin Suzuki Hayabusa engines driving all four wheels. The actual race will take place in London at Wembley Stadium on December 14 and will feature Tom Kristensen (Team Scandinavia), <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/02/schumacher-confirmed-to-return-for-2008-race-of-champions/">Michael Schumacher</a> (Team Germany), S&eacute;bastien Loeb (Team France), Andy Priaulx (Team Autosport Great Britain), Troy Bayliss (Team Australia), Mattias Ekstr&ouml;m (Team Scandinavia), Jenson Button (Team Autosport Great Britain), Mark Webber (Team Australia) and Sebastian Vettel (Team Germany).<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/">Race of Champions 2008 testing</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/roc_large_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/roc_large_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/roc_large_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/roc_large_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/race-of-champions-2008-testing/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/10/roc_large_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Race of Champions]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/ktm-x-bow-suzuki-hayabusa-engined-car-tested-for-race-of-champi/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM X-Bow, Suzuki Hayabusa-engined car tested for Race of Champions</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/07/ktm-x-bow-suzuki-hayabusa-engined-car-tested-for-race-of-champi/">KTM X-Bow, Suzuki Hayabusa-engined car tested for Race of Champions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 07 Oct 2008 17:26:00 EST. The KTM X-Bow is <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/15/ktm-x-bow-1000-pre-orders-and-counting/">hot off the presses</a>, and it didn't take long for some brand new ones to show up on the 'Ring in Germany with their new owners behind the wheel. That hallowed circuit has led to the demise of more than a few machines, not to mention their drivers, and will inevitably continue to claim casualties as racers test their skills on its winding asphalt. The latest victim is one of the aforementioned German-powered, Austrian-built sportscars from KTM. According to <a href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1740402.ece">reports</a>, the car spent some time skidding on two wheels -- fitting considering KTM's motorcycle heritage -- before meeting the barrier and coming to an involuntary halt. Fortunately, it appears as if the carbon-heavy structure did its job well and protected the owner and passenger. It breaks the heart, but rest assured, it won't be the last. Click on the cropped pic for full-size shots of the carnage. <em>Thanks for the tip, everyone</em>!<br /><br />[Source: The Sun]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/29/aw-snap-man-crashes-ktm-x-bow-first-time-out/">Aw Snap! <p>Although KTM has been making motorcycles since 1934, it's new to the car business. Evidently, no one told them that if you're going to go back on something you said in the auto business, it's supposed to be really disappointing. Instead, KTM has announced its intention to bring the X-Bow track car to the United States and make it street-legal to boot, despite previously saying that the X-Bow would only be sold in Europe and Asia and that it would be confined to the track. <br /></p>
<p>The announcement was made by KTM sales and marketing chief Hubert Trunkenpolz at the recent annual gathering of KTM bike dealers from across North America in Salt Lake City, Utah. Apparently the company has received some 600+ requests from American KTM dealers for the X-Bow to make the transatlantic trip. Trunkenpolz (now we just like saying Trunkenpolz) noted that they will need cooperation from Volkswagen/Audi, who supplies the running gear, and from local authorities, but that the company "will do whatever is possible to bring the car to the U.S. - that, I promise." <em>Thanks for the tip, everyone!</em></p>

Today, Chris took a brief break from his day-job to see what he could spy on the 'Ring's webcam and found the same trio of lightweight, track-tools that dance in our minds when we hit REM sleep. A Lotus 211, a KTM X-Bow and an Ariel Atom were all getting ready for their close-ups at the entrance to the Green Hell, likely a feature story for a European buff. There's no way to tell who's doing the shooting, but don't be surprised if a video begins floating around YouTube of the three track toys in the next couple of months. We'll keep an eye out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/06/arial-vs-ktm-vs-lotus-211-comparo-in-progress-at-the-ring/">Arial vs. KTM vs. Lotus 211 comparo in progress at the 'Ring</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 06 Aug 2008 17:58:00 EST. But KTM <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/25/ktm-planning-closed-coupe-and-off-road-versions-of-x-bow/">isn't content with leaving the X-Bow alone</a>. When the Geneva Motor Show rolls around next March, the newest entrant into the four-wheeled world will get a healthy boost in output courtesy of the Audi S3's 261 hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged FSI engine. According to <em>Autocar</em>, the more powerful model could be joined later by a new variant sporting a full windshield and a removable roof, making the case for the X-Bow more compelling and allowing KTM to take aim at traditional track toys.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://autocar.co.uk">Autocar</a> via <a href="http://www.nextautos.com/ktm-x-bow-get-roof-more-power">NextAutos</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/15/ktm-bringing-faster-harder-x-bow-to-geneva-in-2009/">KTM bringing faster, harder X-Bow to Geneva in 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 15 Jul 2008 19:01:00 EST. The team <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/26/ktm-gt4-x-bow-revealed/">campaigned a pair of X-Bows</a> at the Silverstone circuit in the UK and aside from getting a one-two podium finish in its class, the team mixed it up with the rest of the 16 GT4 contenders, including Aston Martin N24s, Chevrolet Corvettes and Ford Mustangs. Among the 400+ hp racers, the X-Bow placing seventh and eleventh overall in Saturday's race, and fifth and sixth on Sunday. KTM is gearing up for the next race in Monza, Italy on May 17 and 18, and is looking to take another couple of wins before sales of the production X-Bow begins later this summer.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/">KTM X-Bow GT4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/01_ktm_xbow_gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/02_ktm_xbow_gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/03_ktm_xbow_gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/04_ktm_xbow_gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-gt4/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/05_ktm_xbow_gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: KTM]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/22/ktm-x-bow-takes-class-win-in-gt4-annoys-astons-and-vettes/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM X-Bow takes class win in GT4, annoys Astons and 'Vettes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/22/ktm-x-bow-takes-class-win-in-gt4-annoys-astons-and-vettes/">KTM X-Bow takes class win in GT4, annoys Astons and 'Vettes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 22 Apr 2008 08:02:00 EST. The team will be operated by Reiter Engineering, the same outfit that worked with Lamborghini on the GT1, GT2 and GT3 races in previous years, as a way to remain focused on more consumer-oriented versions of the X-Bow.<br /><br />Loris Bicocchi, who helped develop the X-Bow and has tested numerous vehicles including the Koenigsegg CCR, and Catharina Felser, a former Formula Ford and Formula 3 participant, will campaign the race-spec X-Bow during the series. The competition version of the car has been modified to meet FIA regulations with steel rollover bars (versus the production model's aluminum units), a revised exhaust system that uses a racing silencer, extended wheel covers, added layers of zylon fiber that aim to prevent penetration by track debris and a slightly retuned suspension that can hold up to the rigors of wheel-to-wheel action. All told, the modifications are minimal, which speaks volumes about how well engineered the X-Bow is right out of the box.<br /><br />For those of you who've placed your orders for the production version, deliveries are still set for this summer.<br /><br />KTM's full press release is posted after the jump.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/">KTM X-Bow - Production Version</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/01prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/02prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/03prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/04prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/05prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/13/ktm-confirms-participation-in-gt4-with-x-bow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM confirms participation in GT4 with X-Bow</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/13/ktm-confirms-participation-in-gt4-with-x-bow/">KTM confirms participation in GT4 with X-Bow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 13 Mar 2008 13:32:00 EST. After a scant 12 months, the famed motorcycle manufacturer has officially unveiled the production version of the X-Bow, and over 2,000 people have lined up to get their hands on one of the most driver-focused vehicles to be released since the introduction of the Ariel Atom.<br /><br />Not much has changed from the original concept. The same Audi-sourced, 220 hp TFSI four-cylinder engine is mounted out back and with only 1,500 pounds holding the carbon fiber track tool back, the sprint to 60 comes up in 3.9 seconds. KTM has smoothed out some of the rough edges, including the exhaust/intake systems, added a fully adjustable suspension and tweaked the bodywork and cockpit, but it's still minimalist motoring at its finest. Back in 2007 we called it <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/07/geneva-motor-show-better-than-the-best-rollercoaster-ktm-x-bo/">better than the best rollercoaster around</a>, and one year later, we're sticking with that assessment.<br /><br />Our previous post on the production X-Bow and the 1,000 limited edition Dallara series models is available <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/05/ktm-releasing-limited-edition-dallara-series-x-bow/">here</a> and we've posted two galleries of the X-Bow below, including the concept from the 2007 Geneva Motor Show and the production version shown this year.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/">KTM X-Bow - Production Version</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/01prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/02prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/03prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/04prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-production-version/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/05prod_x_bow_live_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/05/geneva-2008-ktm-x-bow-dallara-ready-for-delivery/">Geneva 2008: KTM X-Bow Dallara, ready for delivery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 05 Mar 2008 09:56:00 EST. KTM's head honcho, Stefan Pierer, has revealed to <em>CAR</em> that the future of the X-Bow will include five different versions of the lightweight roadster, and that KTM is looking to take on Lotus as a manufacturer of specialty performance vehicles.<br /><br />With over 2,000 orders for the X-Bow already placed, KTM has a hit on its hands. So aside from the base model and a race-spec version that will be campaigned in the FIA GT4 lightweight class, KTM also plans to offer another road-going variant that will be sporting a set of doors and a roof. From there, it's looking to upgrade the stock mill with a 330-hp V6 pulled from the Audi S3, and since the architecture of the X-Bow has been designed from the onset to handle the rigors away from the tarmac, an off-road version is underway that may compete in the Dakar Rally.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/Industry-News/KTMs-four-wheeled-future/?content-block=0">CAR</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/25/ktm-planning-closed-coupe-and-off-road-versions-of-x-bow/">KTM planning closed coupe and off-road versions of X-Bow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2008 15:29:00 EST. Preorders have reportedly <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/15/ktm-x-bow-1000-pre-orders-and-counting/">gone through the roof</a>, but KTM only intends to build 1,000 X-Bows per year for the time being. Those that got on the waiting list early will be in the running for a limited edition model, dubbed the "Dallara Series," that will come equipped with extra kit to boost the X-Bow's prowess on the track. Unfortunately, KTM's press release (after the jump) didn't divulge what additional features the Dallara will be fitted with, but if we were to wager a guess, we'd put our money on some upgraded brake components and a few tweaks to the ECU to boost the Audi-sourced 2.0-liter TFSI mill.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/">KTM X-Bow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/01/020108ktm_1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917778_30a41213f7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917853_7b36f3e0df_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/medium_396917895_7253e3c230_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ktm-x-bow-scale-model/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/02/x_box_scale_1280_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/05/ktm-releasing-limited-edition-dallara-series-x-bow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KTM releasing Limited Edition "Dallara Series" X-Bow</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/05/ktm-releasing-limited-edition-dallara-series-x-bow/">KTM releasing Limited Edition "Dallara Series" X-Bow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 05 Jan 2008 12:57:00 EST.
