The Coatl remains as bizarre and fishlike as ever, and everything else below holds true.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.e-lamborghini.com/">Joan Ferci</a>, the designer who somehow has permission to slap Lamborghini badges on the fishlike creations his mind comes up with, has actually found three buyers for the bizarrely-named, ridiculously-styled, Coatl sports car. According to <a href="http://argentinaautoblog.blogspot.com/2007/07/joan-ferc-construye-tres-lamborghini.html">Argentina Auto Blog</a>, which has led the way regarding coverage of all things Ferci, reports that these Coatl production cars will have 350 horsepower and a top speed of 300 km/h. The original "Lamborghini" Coatl Ferci produced (shown above) was Diablo-based, boasted a far more robust 675 horsepower and was priced at over $600,000. The cars being built and sold now are supposedly under $100,000 each. Whether they use any Lamborghini mechanicals at all is a complete mystery, but the low power output and price compared to the original is puzzling, to say the least. <br /><br /><a href="http://argentinaautoblog.blogspot.com/2007/04/se-present-el-lamborghini-alar-concept_10.html"><img width="250" vspace="4" hspace="4" height="193" border="1" align="right" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/07/ferc_alartop1.jpg" alt="Lamborghini Alar by Joan Ferci" /></a>Ferci is still looking for a location upon which to build the manufacturing facility for his most recent Diablo-derived creation, the gratuitously ugly <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/29/lamborghini-alar-debut-postponed-unfortunately-not-forever/">Lamborghini Alar</a>. For reasons only Ferci knows, the Alar (concept version shown at right) looks like it's wearing a Spider-Man costume when viewed from above. The mind reels. <br /><br />[Source: Argentina Auto Blog]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/07/lamborghini-alar-designer-finds-three-buyers-for-coatl-sister-ca/">Lamborghini Alar designer building 3 examples of Coatl sister car</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 07 Jul 2007 20:02:00 EST. Joan Ferci's bizarre, rebodied Lamborghini Diablo dubbed the Alar has finally been revealed in Buenos Aires, and it is everything it's cracked up to be. Not that that's necessarily a good thing. The Diablo's muscular looks are jettisoned in favor of the Alar's wacky new bodywork, which looks like the aftermath of a one night stand between an alien life form and Captain Nemo's submarine, the <em>Nautilus</em>. In 1987.<br /><br />If you <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/209658/">click through</a> to Argentina Auto Blog, which has been single-handedly leading the coverage of the Alar's progress, you can have a look at additional shots of the car at its unveiling, where it's placed next to an unmodified Diablo. $750,000 and a lapse in good judgement is all it'll take to stick an Alar in your garage. <br /><br />[Source: Argentina Auto Blog]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/">Lamborghini Alar</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/ferci1280_alar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/alarperfil_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/lamboalar1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/alar_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-alar-777/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/03/alar_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/11/our-eyes-lamborghini-alar-concept-revealed/">Our eyes! The show at which the officially sanctioned Lambo was to debut, Expo World Cars, has been pushed back on account of weather. Designed by Joan Ferci, the Alar stands as one of the most fugly supercars ever badged with the famous Italian bull. Apparently an Argentinian by the name of <a href="http://www.e-lamborghini.com/">Joan Ferci</a> has somehow acquired exclusive rights to build custom Lamborghinis that retain the Italian marque's historic name and feature an official badge of the raging bull on the front end. He's created a pair of models in the past called the <a href="http://www.e-lamborghini.com/htm2/frames_coatl.htm">Coatl</a> and the <a href="http://www.e-lamborghini.com/htm2/frames_eros.htm">Eros GT-1</a>, both based off of the Diablo. The Alar 777 will be the third model produced off of the Diablo platform and debut on March 30th in Buenos Aires. The car will produce over 700 horsepower from the Diablo's V12 motor and reached a claimed top speed of 223 mph. All we have at the moment is this computer rendering of the Lamborghini Alar 77 courtesy of <a href="http://argentinaautoblog.blogspot.com/2007/03/exclusivo-alar-777-el-lamborghini.html">Argentina Auto Blog</a>, which has us wondering how many times Ferruccio Lamborghini will roll in his grave when this thing officially debuts.<br /><br />[Source: Argentina Auto Blog]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/01/lamborghini-alar-777-puts-the-bull-under-the-knife/">Lamborghini Alar 777 puts the bull under the knife</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 01 Mar 2007 19:03:00 EST.
