<br />
We can't believe it's been just a year since Hurst unveiled its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/">stunning white and gold Hemi Challenger</a>. Since that time we've seen a few variations, including <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/21/hurst-unveils-signature-color-combo-on-series-4-challenger/">different color combination</a>s and the <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/exclusive-hurst-announces-competition-plus-dodge-challenger/">Competition/Plus model</a>, and we even got to see how the cars were built. Up to this point, all of Hurst's production models have been Challengers, but when the company showed off a one-off <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/17/sema-preview-one-off-hurst-camaro-to-be-auctioned-for-charity/">Camaro</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/2010-hurst-mustang-to-serve-pace-duties-for-ford-racing-mustang/">Mustang convertible</a>, we figured production versions wouldn't be far away. We were right.<br />
<br />
Yesterday afternoon, Hurst pulled the covers off the new Performance Series Mustang and Camaro, each with a slightly different take on Hurst's classic color combinations. Both cars get the kind of performance upgrades you would expect from Hurst including a supercharger, Magnaflow exhaust system, Eibach suspension components, Hurst Competition/Plus shifters and 20-inch wheels and tires. Each car also gets Katzkin leather inserts, embroidered floor mats, and a dash plaque. Just 50 examples of each will be built, and judging by how fast the Challengers sold, you will need to put your order in quickly if you want one. Follow the jump for full details on both cars, and be sure to check out both of the high-res galleries below.<br />

<br />
The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/sema/">SEMA Show</a> is coming up fast, and already we're hearing about all the new tuner vehicles we'll get to see on the show floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center come November. One of those cars will be a one-off 2010 Hurst Camaro to be auctioned off on eBay Motors starting two weeks before the show. The original car was generously donated by GM, and proceeds from the auction will go to benefit SEMA's Memorial Scholarship Fund that supports students who want to pursue careers in the aftermarket industry. <br />
<br />
This unique Camaro features a paint scheme opposite to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/21/hurst-unveils-signature-color-combo-on-series-4-challenger/">Silver and Black Series 4 Challenger</a> with red and silver stripes painted over Brilliant Black. The car also comes with a Hurst AIR-SPEED decklid spoiler, 20-inch polished forged wheels wrapped with BFGoodrich tires, Eibach suspension components, Magnaflow exhaust system and exterior Hurst badges. Of course, no Hurst-built car would come without a new shifter, and the Camaro gets a Competition/Plus unit with a red anodized HARD-DRIVE billet handle. Final touches include embroidered floor mats, a personalized dash plaque and signatures from the Hurst executive team under the trunk lid. <br />
<br />
There's no <em>official</em> word on whether Hurst will build a production version of the Camaro to join the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/first-drive-hurst-hemi-challenger/">Dodge Challenger</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/16/autoblog-drives-the-50th-anniversary-hurst-viper-first-w-vid/">Dodge Viper</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/hurst-announces-pontiac-h-o-g8-and-g6/">Pontiac G8</a> models that are currently available, but we wouldn't bet against it. Full details on the Hurst Camaro and the auction can be found in the press release after the jump.<br />

<br /> It's been a busy year for Hurst Performance Vehicles. They launched their <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/first-drive-hurst-hemi-challenger/">limited-edition Dodge Challenger</a> at SEMA last November, followed by the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/hurst-performance-announces-50th-anniversary-viper/">50th Anniversary Dodge Viper</a>, and most recently, they announced <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/hurst-announces-pontiac-h-o-g8-and-g6/">the addition of the Pontiac G8</a> to their lineup. Come mid-September, though, you can add one more to that list. Hurst and BFGoodrich tires have teamed up to create a one-off 2010 Mustang GT Convertible that will serve as the pace car for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge race at Miller Motorsports Park on September 19. Afterward, the car will attend various events including SEMA, and will eventually be auctioned off for charity at the start of 2010. <br /> <br /> Following the same themes as other Hurst vehicles, the Mustang has a spec sheet that reads nearly identical to the Challenger. The exterior gets a white and gold paint scheme accented by Hurst 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KDW tires. A supercharger lies underneath the hood (although it's a Roush roots-type rather than a Vortech centrifugal blower), that pushes the 4.6-liter V8 to 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft torque. Eibach suspension components, a Magnaflow exhaust system, Hurst Competition/Plus short throw shifter, and Katzkin leather interior round out the list of modifications. Read more about the Hurst Ford Mustang Pace Car in the press release after the jump.<br /> <br /> [Source: Hurst Performance Vehicles]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/2010-hurst-mustang-to-serve-pace-duties-for-ford-racing-mustang/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>2010 Hurst Mustang to serve pace duties for Ford Racing Mustang Challenge</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/01/2010-hurst-mustang-to-serve-pace-duties-for-ford-racing-mustang/">2010 Hurst Mustang to serve pace duties for Ford Racing Mustang Challenge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 14:28:00 EST. <br />We happen to love the gold theme on the Hurst Challenger, whether paired with black or white paint, but we could see why not everyone would want something so...<em>gold</em>. Apparently Hurst felt the same way, and has announced that customers can now choose a silver and black paint scheme with red trim, coinciding with the company's traditional colors. <br /><br />The cars, all of which come with a unique production number and certificate of authenticity from Hurst, feature a red anodized pistol grip shifter, 20-inch forged wheels with graphite gray painted spoke inserts, red perforated leather inserts and stitching, and Hurst logos on the dash, grille, wheel caps, floor mats, and on the front fenders. <br />When we last visited the Hurst facility in Irvine, CA, we noticed something unusual. While nearly all of the Challengers were painted in either white or black, a lone Challenger painted in B5 Blue sat tucked away in a corner. When we inquired about the car, we were told that we would find out soon enough. Well, we know now, as Hurst has just unveiled a Competition/Plus package for the Dodge Challenger at the NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, CA. <br /><br />The Competition/Plus project was started in an effort to provide a more affordable package, as well as appeal to customers who might not necessarily want the classic gold paint schemes. Named after the legendary shifter that helped make Hurst famous, the package includes only the essentials: an Eibach suspension system, Magnaflow exhaust system, Hurst 20-inch alloy wheels, color-matched leather inserts and stitching for the interior, matte black exterior accents, and, of course, a Competition/Plus short throw shifter with the classic white ball. We're told the package is available on any color of Challenger, whether it's the B5 Blue pictured here, Hemi Orange, TorRed or any other. <br /><br />Pricing has yet to be announced, but full details on the car should be released soon. Until then, take a look at our exclusive gallery of photographs that were given the chance to snap a couple of days before the car's release.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/">Hurst Competition/Plus Challenger</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/hurstcomppluschallenger_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/hurstcomppluschallenger_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/hurstcomppluschallenger_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/hurstcomppluschallenger_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-competition-plus-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/hurstcomppluschallenger_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><strong style="font-style: italic;"><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/">Drew Phillips</a> / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/exclusive-hurst-announces-competition-plus-dodge-challenger/">Exclusive: Hurst announces Competition/Plus Dodge Challenger</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 09:58:00 EST. <br />The Pontiac brand may be on its way out the door, but that doesn't mean it can't have one last fling with a renowned tuner. Hurst Performance Vehicles, the legendary shifter company that most recently has made waves with its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/19/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/">Hemi Challenger</a>, announced its new H.O. program for the Pontiac G6 and G8. Few details have been released regarding the performance upgrades of the cars, but each will feature Hurst's signature black/gold or white/gold paint scheme, forged alloy Hurst wheels, an exclusive Hurst shifter, supercharged engine, suspension upgrades, and a newly trimmed interior. <br /><br />To help with the development of the car, Hurst also brought on performance icon "Doc" Watson, who developed such vehicles as the Hurst Hemi-Under-Glass and the 1972 Pontiac SSJ. Only 52 Hurst H.O. Pontiacs will be built along with ten G6 convertibles used as parade and special event vehicles. More details regarding the performance upgrades will be announced on August 1st, but until then all the available information can be found in the press release after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/30/hurst-announces-pontiac-h-o-g8-and-g6/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hurst announces Pontiac H.O. <br />At <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/SEMA/">SEMA</a> last year, the legendary shifter company Hurst made huge waves with its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/">Hemi Challenger</a>. We've been following Hurst's progress of the cars ever since, and even got the chance to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/first-drive-hurst-hemi-challenger/">get behind the wheel of the prototype car</a> for a brief stint. We recently made the trip down to Hurst Performance Vehicles' headquarters in Irvine, CA to see just how stock Challengers are transformed into one of their limited edition muscle cars. <br /><br />You might think that Hurst would be hard pressed to find customers in today's economy, but we were surprised to see their building overflowing with Challengers. There were completely stock cars that had just been delivered, cars getting superchargers and suspension upgrades, and plenty of complete cars waiting to be delivered to their lucky new owners. <br /><br />Hurst was kind enough to give us a full tour of the facility, and showed us exactly what goes into making one of their Challengers, whether it's a base Series 2 model or a full blown Series 5 with all the bells and whistles. Follow us on our tour in the gallery below, which includes high-res photographs and detailed descriptions that follow a Hurst Challenger from <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/2082871/">start to finish</a>.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/">How It's Made: Hurst Hemi Dodge Challenger</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/hursthowitsmade_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/hursthowitsmade_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/hursthowitsmade_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/hursthowitsmade_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/06/hursthowitsmade_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><strong style="font-style: italic;"><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 <a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/">Drew Phillips</a> / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/19/how-its-made-hurst-hemi-dodge-challenger/">How It's Made: Hurst Hemi Dodge Challenger</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 19 Jun 2009 19:57:00 EST. <br />Ron Flint, president of <a href="http://www.hurstperformancevehicles.com/">Hurst Performance</a>, is quick to let you know that founder George Hurst's original intent was to make hot rods for gentlemen. It is ironic, then, that for the revived company's 50th anniversary, it has thrown its energies into a car that isn't a hot rod, and certainly isn't for gentlemen: a Dodge Viper. Leaving the heart of the beast well enough alone, Hurst merely tinkered with some oily bits, stuffed the thing with leather, and then slathered it in a hue something like a monochrome sunset. Autoblog was invited to be the first to drive the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/09/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper-unveiled-to-be-auctioned-for-chari/">Hurst 50th Anniversary Dodge Viper</a>, and you know what we discovered? There's (matte) gold in them thar hills. Follow the jump for the story and video of our drive, and be sure to check out the gallery of gorgeous high-res images below.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/">Hurst 50th Anniversary Dodge Viper</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/hurstviperfd_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/hurstviperfd_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/hurstviperfd_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/hurstviperfd_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hurst-50th-anniversary-dodge-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/hurstviperfd_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2009 </small></strong><small><a href="http://www.drewphillipsphotography.com/"><strong>Drew Phillips</strong></a><strong> / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></small></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/16/autoblog-drives-the-50th-anniversary-hurst-viper-first-w-vid/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First Drive: Autoblog drives the 50th Anniversary Hurst Viper - first! <br />Legendary maker of all things used to shift, Hurst has taken some time out today to unveil the car that will mark its 50th year of building specialty performance vehicles under the banner of <a href="http://www.hurstperformancevehicles.com">Hurst Performance</a>. That car is the appropriately named the 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper. Since adding more power to the Viper's 600-hp 8.4L V10 engine is akin to putting Yao Ming in heels, Hurst instead focused mostly on the aesthetics. The Hurst/Viper, of which only 50 will be made, comes only in two color combos that commemorate the official colors of the company: Black with Gold stripes or White with Gold Stripes. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hurst car without a Hurst shifter, so these special Vipers will be fitted with the company's new HARD-DRIVE gold anodized pistol grip shifter. Also from the company catalogue are Hurst 19- and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The interior is shrink wrapped in Katzkin charcoal leather that's embroidered with the Hurst logo and touched off with gold stitching and perforated leather inserts.<br /><br />It's hard to modify a car of the Viper's caliber and not play with the performance a little, so Hurst did add a Corsa exhaust and Moton Club Sport adjustable coil-over suspension to make it that much more special than stock. The first of 50 examples will be auctioned off next week at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in Arizona with all proceeds being donated to <a href="http://www.victoryjunction.org/">Victory Junction</a>, which runs a camping facility for chronically ill children.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/">50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/01_hurstviper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/03_hurstviper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/06_hurstviper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/02_hurstviper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/00_hurstviper_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Hurst Performance Vehicles]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/09/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper-unveiled-to-be-auctioned-for-chari/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper unveiled, to be auctioned for charity</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/09/50th-anniversary-hurst-viper-unveiled-to-be-auctioned-for-chari/">50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper unveiled, to be auctioned for charity</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 09 Jan 2009 14:31:00 EST. Fifty cars will be made, each featuring a number of details already seen on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/">Hurst Hemi Challenger</a>, including the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/1138314/">Hurst pistol-grip shifter</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-hurst-hemi-challenger/1138310/">Hurst wheels</a>. The interior will be stitched up by Katzkin leather, and sound effects will come via a Corsa exhaust. As for colors, you will be offered the usual two: black with gold stripes, and white with gold stripes.<br /><br />The car you see peeking through in the picture above is a 1-of-a-kind that will go under the gavel at next month's Barret-Jackson auction. That one is matte gold with matte black racing stripe and black chrome wheels. But we have a feeling that if you don't get the car at Barrett and you really want one just like it, Hurst will be happy to exchange some of your green for some of their gold. Check out the press release after the jump, and the well-heeled among you should make your reservations for Scottsdale now.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/hurst-performance-announces-50th-anniversary-viper/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hurst Performance announces 50th Anniversary Viper</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/hurst-performance-announces-50th-anniversary-viper/">Hurst Performance announces 50th Anniversary Viper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 16 Dec 2008 17:02:00 EST.
