This particular blogger happened to be searching for any news on Forza Motorsport 3 (coming sometime in 2009!) when I came across this incredible video. It appears the art of drifting has entered the digital realm, and a group of digital racers named 'Project Blackjack" have put together an extensive video showcasing their talents. This is their seventh film entitled "The Rising Storm", compiled completely from Forza 2 footage, many times with with "camera cars" placed at certain location to capture the action. You can see tandem drifting on tracks like Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta and even the Nurburgring. As you can imagine, figuring out how to correctly film the drifting, getting two to five cars to make a good run together, and then finally compiling the footage took quite a while. Back in December, Forza 2 offered a downloadable car pack that included new vehicles like the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Evo Street, 2006 Ferrari FXX, 2008 Audi R8 and 2008 Koenigsegg CCGT. The pack also included a new track - Road America. On March 19, Forza 2 will again offer digi-racers 13 more cars to add to their list with the release of the March Car Pack, though unfortunately no new track is available this time around. The new car pack can be purchased on Xbox Live for 400 points or about $5.00, and includes the likes of the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini LP640, Maserati Gran Turismo, BMW's new M3, the Mitsubishi EVO X, Porsche 911 GT2 and more. Unfortunately for Forza 2 fans, this new March Car Pack will be completely eclipsed come April 17th when Gran Turismo 5 Prologue hits both store shelves and the Playstation Store online. Though each are exclusive to their own console (XBox 360 and Playstation 3, respectively), the Gran Turismo series is still the de facto king of console racing sims.

We are huge fans of Forza 2 here at Autoblog, so it was music to our ears when we heard that the game had released a new set of cars and an additional track earlier today. Road America makes its debut as the new venue, and there are eleven great new vehicles to drive:

The downloadable packs are available now in the Microsoft Marketplace, which can be had for 400 Microsoft points for the cars and 100 points for the track. Forza Motorsport 2 debuted on the Xbox 360 recently as the premier driving game for Microsoft's next-gen console. We haven't picked it up yet, but will be heading to Best Buy soon with our coupon in hand to procure it. Until then, our blogging brothers over at Joystiq found some Forza fans who are already having a good time designing their own cars in the game's editing mode. We particularly like the Bewitched Charger, Super Mario Bros. Skyline and For a Few Dollars More Mustang. There's plenty more to see in our gallery, and gamers have been adding new pics to this forum thread at a steady pace.
