In an effort to spur lagging sales, Chrysler has reportedly cranked up incentive spending on nearly all of its models by $1,000 to $1,500 while also offering 0% financing on many of its models. Chrysler is also said to be offering lease incentives of $500 to $1,000 on minivan leases and financing deals on leftover 2008 and 2009 Dodge Vipers.

The move towards additional rebates comes as incentive spending has been down for crosstown rivals General Motors and Ford. And Chrysler was already spending more on incentives than the industry at large - Edmunds says the typical Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep sold had $3,219 on the hood versus an industry average of $2,486. Chrysler is in a tougher position than its Detroit contemporaries, because the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker has seen its sales slide by 39% on the year - more than any other major player in the U.S. market. One thing Chrysler does have going for it is that dealer inventory is largely in check and Automotive News is reporting that 88% of its vehicles are 2010 models.

Chrysler's latest round of incentives is good now through January 4, 2010.
So unlike General Motors and Ford, the Auburn Hills-based automaker has launched a new incentive program for May that gives consumers back what they want most: money, and lots of it. Beginning today, Chrysler is offering $4,000 Consumer Cash on all 2009 model year Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. But that's not all, if you own a current vehicle from one of those three brands, you get an additional $1,000 off on most 2008 and 2009 models (Chrysler doesn't say which ones in its press release after the jump, though). But wait, there's more. Finance your vehicle through one of 1,500 credit unions participating in the "Invest in America" program and you get another $1,000 off. Break out the abacus and you'll see that a new Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep vehicle could come with a coupon worth up to $6,000 off. Chrysler says consumers have made it clear that the net purchase price of a vehicle is the most important factor in determining whether or not they're going to buy, so these new incentives that last through June 1st are designed to address that factor in a big, big way.

[Source: Chrysler, Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images]
Continue reading Chrysler launches May incentives worth up to $6,000

Chrysler launches May incentives worth up to $6,000 originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 06 May 2009 10:58:00 EST.
The automotive industry may be in a pickle right now, but the current recession has made for an incredible buyer's market, particularly for anyone who wants a bargain on a performance car. We've seen some pretty amazing deals, like $18,995 for a brand new Mustang GT, and now both General Motors and Chrysler are offering enticing incentives for the Pontiac G8 GXP and Dodge Charger SRT8, respectively. The G8 GXP, already a steal at $37,610, is available with $3,000 cash back in some areas. With a $1,700 gas guzzler tax, the total comes to just $36,310. The Charger SRT8 is an even better deal with its $41,120 MSRP (including gas guzzler tax and destination) dropped all the way to $34,516 after Employee Pricing and $3,000 in cash-back bonuses. Of course, many of the cash-back deals are regional and some are only for brand loyalists or require you use the automaker's financial service for your loan, so not all dealers may be offering these prices, but we're guessing they'll still do just about anything they can to sell you a car.

Gallery: In the Autoblog Garage: 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP

Gallery: 2009 Dodge Charger SRT8

[Source: Kicking Tires]
400+ HP super sedans on sale in March for $35,000 originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 16:59:00 EST. One manufacturer hit especially hard by this transition is Chrysler, a company that recently posted the worst fleet average fuel economy numbers of all major automakers in the U.S. due to its truck-heavy lineup. Still, the automaker has built up a large supply of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep utility vehicles that they have got to get off dealer lots somehow. To ease consumers into the fuel-thirsy utes, Chrysler has introduced new incentives of zero-percent financing for 72 months on the 2008 Dodge Durango, Chrysler Aspen and Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander.

While the lack of any financing charges will certainly impact the bottom line, it is nothing compared to the losses the automaker has been hit with over its past lease deals. In fact, truck and SUV residuals are so bad these days that Chrysler Financial has gone so far as to completely cut leasing out of its available portfolio starting August 1. The financing deals announced today are scheduled to continue through Thursday, July 31.

[Source: Automotive News - sub. req'd]
Chrysler offering even more incentives to close out July originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 16:59:00 EST. It's not surprising, then, to see that Chrysler, Dodge and Ford have increased incentives in an effort to get those cars off its dealer's lots. For instance, prospective buyers for the Hemi-powered Chrysler 300C can now choose either $4,000 cash back or $2,000 plus Chrysler's $2.99 gas promotion, known as Let's Refuel America. Choosing Chrysler's full-size SUV, the Aspen, will net you $4,500 cash back or $1,000 in cash, plus the Let's Refuel deal. Dodge too is heavy into the incentives game, especially on fuel-gulping SUV's and trucks. The largest savings come with the 2008 Ram truck, which gets you $5,000 in cash or $3,000 plus the cheap gas card.

Realizing the sorry state that sales of the F-Series are in, Ford has chosen to offer employee pricing for its full-sizers, although they aren't telling you what how much you'll save without a trip to the dealer. Cars.com has been able to extract a few figures from Ford's web site and have figured out that nearly three-grand will be shed from the sticker of a mid-grade XLT model. After looking these rebates over, it seems clear that the few consumers still in the market for a large, V8 powered vehicle will be looking to get a great deal for the foreseeable future.

[Source: Kicking Tires]
Incentive Roundup: Chrysler adds more cash to free gas, Ford mum on Employee Pricing originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 05 Jun 2008 17:57:00 EST. With gas prices rapidly approaching and exceeding $4 a gallon across the nation, Chrysler is offering up a deal that just might make people who are averse to the looks of cars like the Chrysler Sebring and Jeep Compass think twice. Between now and June 2, anyone who buys any new Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep vehicle will be able to register for a "Let's Refuel America" card. Once the customer registers a credit card with the program, they will receive a new card that they can then use at participating gas stations to fuel up their new car or truck. When the card is used, the credit card that the owner has on file will be billed $2.99 a gallon for either regular gas, E85 or diesel fuel. Chrysler will pay the difference. The best part is the price is locked in for THREE years. Now that's real savings. There are of course limitations on the deal. Get more details on the deal and Chrysler's full press release after the jump.

[Source: Chrysler]
Continue reading Chrysler to guarantee gas at $2.99 a gallon! The automaker's year end Event of a Lifetime sale happens to include its brand new minivans, the Town & Country and the Dodge Caravan, which can be had until December 3rd with $1,000 on the hood or long-term financing as low as 1.9% APR. Other Chrysler models included in the sale are the 300 ($1,500), 300C ($3,000, excluding the SRT-8), Sebring Convertible ($2,000), Aspen ($1,000), PT Cruiser ($1,000) and the Pacifica in both five- ($1,500) and six-passenger ($2,000) models. You can check out what Dodge and Jeep are offering, as well as any other automaker, on the Cars.com Incentive Page that's always up to date.

[Source: Kicking Tires]
2008 Chrysler minivans being sold with incentives already originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 28 Nov 2007 18:54:00 EST.
