Episode #154 of the Autoblog Podcast is here for your tryptophan-addled pleasure. Chris, Sam, and Dan kick it, starting with the <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/23/bmw-5-series-2011-sedan-unveiled/">BMW 5 Series</a>, then move on to such appetite supressants as the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/23/lexus-announces-pricing-for-2010-gx460-will-begin-at-51-970/">Lexus GX</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/20/acura-zdx-to-start-at-45-495/">Acura ZDX and its pricing</a>, and Infiniti's <a href="http:// http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/23/redesigned-2010-infiniti-g-and-2011-qx-joining-m-in-la/">re-style of the massive QX56 rig</a>. Before we become an emetic, we move on to the pretty new Infiniti M, the ongoing anticipation for a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/21/report-chevrolet-spark-still-under-consideration-for-u-s/">US-bound Chevrolet Spark</a>, and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/23/hyundais-new-2-4l-gdi-four-cylinder-hits-up-to-200hp-in-sonata/">Hyundai's new 2.4 liter direct-injection 4 cylinder</a> for the next Sonata. We hit some questions, and wrap it up in time for pie.<br />

The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/5+series">5 Series</a> is an important model for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/bmw/">BMW</a>, particularly in North America where it's the brand's second best seller behind the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/3+series">3 Series</a>. Heading into 2010, BMW has expanded its mid-size line with the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/5+series+gt">Gran Turismo</a> body style already on sale. However, the volume leader for the 5 Series is the four-door sedan, which officially debuts today. The 2011 model transitions to a new platform architecture shared with the latest <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/7+series">7 Series</a> as well as the upcoming <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/ghost">Rolls-Royce Ghost</a>. The 5 Series sedan gets a four-inch shorter wheelbase than its siblings, but at 116.9 inches, it still stretches well past its competition. The new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/e+class">Mercedes-Benz E-Class</a> runs a mere 113.1 inches between its axles and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/cts">Cadillac CTS</a> is 113.4 inches. <br />
<br />
From a technical perspective, the new 5 Series picks up much of what can be found in the 7 Series and the Gran Turismo. Read on after the jump to learn more about it. <br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><small>2011 BMW 5 Series Touring - click above image for hi-res gallery</small></em></strong></div>
<br />
Looky, looky - it's another piece of future German metal disguised to look like MC Escher on peyote. But what is it? Well, unlike the never ending back-and-forth between <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/21/reader-spy-next-gen-audi-a6-caught-in-so-cal-or-is-it-an-a8/">the A6 and/or the A8</a>, we're certain this is the new 2011 5 Series Touring, a.k.a. a Bimmer station wagon or "Kombi" as they call 'em over in Europe. Not bad, right? Kinda lithe yet athletic at the same time. Good looking, too. And let's not forget the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/01/another-one-from-the-vault-bmw-e39-m5-wagon/">M versions</a> of these puppies. Only thing is, what we think probably doesn't matter - odds are we'll never see the 5 Series Touring here in the States.<br />
<br />
Why is that? We've mentioned it <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-may-write-epitaph-for-model/">before</a>, but BMW just launched the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/5SeriesGranTurismo/">5 Series Gran Turismo</a>. Selling both of the fairly similar five-door cars along side each other might cut into sales. Additionally, wagons have never sold well for BMW here in North America - and for some reason, Americans just aren't into traditional car-like station wagons. And since in BMW's mind the 5 Series GT is going to be a hit, why mess with a good thing?<br />
<br />
A few reasons. Never mind the nearly 1,000 pound weight advantage of the wagon (around 4,000 pounds) over the GT (about 4,800 pounds) - which should bring with it better mileage, performance and handling - to its detractors, the Gran Turismo just has an air of Chrysler Pacifica about it. Of course, since the day it came out, many of us auto-journo types have been asking why one would buy the SUV-ish X5 when the hauls-just-as-much-stuff 5 Series wagon is not only available but costs less, goes quicker, handles better, etc. Looks like BMW just might just disarm that line of questioning altogether. Maybe. <br />

<br />
No matter what you think of the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/21/first-drive-bmw-535i-gran-turismo-evolves-the-wagon-with-clever/">BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo </a>wagon/hatchback/crossover/thing, if you want to get your hands on a brand-new Bimmer 5, that may be your only choice for the time being. Reports suggest that the Bavarian automaker has stopped taking orders for the E-60 5 Series sedan and wagon, with production tipped to end in December in preparation for the new model.<br />
<br />
Dealers have reportedly been instructed only to take "special orders" for the outgoing 5 (whatever that means) with the new GT version scheduled to hit the streets by year's end. Of course, dealers stocked with extra sedans and wagons will be eager to offload their inventory, and we'll be keeping an eye out for hints of the new model coming around the bend.<br />

<div align="center"><em><strong><small>2011 BMW 5-Series - Click above for gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />A year ago, we showed you pics of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/18/spy-shots-2010-bmw-5-series-gets-new-nostrils/">next-generation BMW 5-Series</a> doing some high-speed testing on the N&uuml;rburgring, but that was pretty much the last we heard about this midsize bahnstormer. Well, intrepid spy photographer Rich Truesdell spotted a similar mule out in the desert last week, and he has filled us in on some additional details. The car he spotted appears to be a 2011 BMW 540i sedan. Rich relates that the car was big enough to have him thinking 7-Series at first, but BMW helped out by having a clearly larger current 7 on hand for comparison purposes. How thoughtful of them. <br /><br />While not a lot of final detail shows through, Truesdell points out that the heavy rear quarter cladding could be a tip that something is brewing in the recently revamped styling department in Munich. In particular, around the C-pillar, there was a lot of camo, indicating that perhaps there's something worth hiding. Beyond that, the sedan looks like a shortened 7-Series from most angles, and the dual exhausts suggest that this is likely the V8-powered 540i. Follow the source link to read what Rich thought of the vehicle and to see all of the photos in high-res. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/">Spy Shots: 2011 BMW 5-Series mule</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/moz-screenshot-123_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/090701-01-2011_bmw_5-series_side_view_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/090701-02-2011_bmw_5-series_front_view_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/090701-03-2011_bmw_5-series_side_with_2009_bmw_7series_for_comparison_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/090701-04-2011_bmw_5-series_rear_side_view_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><small> <em><strong>All images (C) 2009 Rich Truesdell/Automotivetraveler.com</strong></em></small><br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/978">Automotive Traveler</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series-mule-caught-in-the-desert/">Spy Shots: 2011 BMW 5-Series mule caught in the desert </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 17:59:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Click above for a high-res gallery of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />As expected, BMW is obviously pretty far along with the production version of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/13/geneva-preview-full-details-emerge-on-bmw-5-series-gran-turismo/">5 Series Gran Turismo</a> concept that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-is-one-luxurious-automoti/">debuted</a> earlier this month at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/geneva-motor-show/">Geneva Motor Show</a>. While show-car details like the thin metal blades connecting the side mirrors from the concept have been replaced with more conventional bits, the general shape of the new GT has been left almost exactly intact. The same can't be said about the interior, which seems to have lost its artful air in exchange for BMW's typically Germanic sobriety. <br /><br />We'll reserve final judgment for when the production version makes its official debut, likely at an undetermined auto show later this year. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/19/spy-shots-production-bmw-5-series-gt-revealed/">Click past the break</a> to see the production BMW 5 Series GT on a video capture of BMW TV, along with the car's German-speaking project leader, Hans-Jurgen Branz. <em>Thanks for the tip, Bryan</em>!<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/">Production BMW 5 Series GT video stills</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/bmw_5_gt_large_8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/bmw_5_gt_large_9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/bmw_5_gt_large_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/bmw_5_gt_large_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/production-bmw-5-series-gt-video-stills/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/bmw_5_gt_large_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/">BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/bmw_pas_1280_12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/bmw_pas_1280_13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/bmw_pas_1280_14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/bmw_pas_1280_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/bmw_pas_1280_15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/bimmerblog">Bimmer Blog</a> via <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2EzaSKOzbA">Youtube</a> via <a href="http://www.carspyshots.net/showthread.php?t=17112">CarSpyShots</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/19/spy-shots-production-5-series-gt-revealed-via-bmw-tv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Spy Shots: Production 5 Series GT revealed via BMW TV</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/19/spy-shots-production-5-series-gt-revealed-via-bmw-tv/">Spy Shots: Production 5 Series GT revealed via BMW TV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 19 Mar 2009 12:27:00 EST. <br />BMW is back at it again with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/12/geneva-preview-bmw-5-series-gt-concept-breaks-out/">5 Series Gran Turismo concept</a>, inventing categories that don't yet exist with a vehicle that isn't quite a sedan, wagon, crossover or SUV. Instead, the Bavarian automaker refers to its new vehicle as a Progressive Activity Sedan, which apparently means that it's a fastback wagon that sits a bit higher off the ground than normal sedans. If you love the shape of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/01/in-the-autoblog-garage-bmw-x6-xdrive-35i/">the X6</a> but don't need the ground clearance, you'll probably find little to complain about from the 5 Series GT.<br /><br />While we're not quite sure we're on board with the new bodystyle, one feature we do admire is the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/1355262/">two-piece</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/1355263/">double-jointed tailgate</a>. It's a clever take on the classic problem of how to access the rear hatch in tight quarters. Once open, that space can hold a cavernous 58 cubic feet of stuff with the rear seats folded down. Regardless of the total amount of room, we've got to wonder if that oddly shaped opening will severely limit what can fit in the boot.<br /><br />For such a large vehicle, there's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-5-series-gran-turismo-concept/1355259/">not that much room inside</a> for passengers. Just four occupants will find a spot for their keisters, though it does appear that each of them will be coddled with plenty of room (all four seats slide fore and aft) and electronic gadgetry. The center console extends from the dash all the way to the rear seating area, providing a spot to put elbows and doodads in their respective places. Our guess is that production won't be too far in the future and with only mild changes to this concept's basic design. The next BMW 5-Series Touring is out testing, and despite the fact that it looks as long as a football field and it's buried under cladding, it doesn't look awkward or ungainly - something that cannot exactly be said for the coming <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/28/spy-shots-e-class-wagon/">Mercedes E-Class wagon</a>. <br /><br />The BMW wagon isn't expected to debut until the latter portion of 2010, but there are hints that the car will get the 400 hp, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 - perhaps for an M Touring assault on Mercedes' E63 AMG wagon? The family carrier is also hinted to offer turbodiesels and three transmission options: 8-speed automatic, 7-speed DKG, and 6-speed manual.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://globalmotors.net/spotted-2010-bmw-5-series-touring/">Global Motors</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/05/spy-shots-bmw-5-series-touring/">Spy Shots: BMW 5-Series Touring</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 05 Jan 2009 13:29:00 EST. Whatever moniker you give it, BMW has evidently crossed the Rubicon and there's no turning back. As expected based upon <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/28/bmws-2009-unveiling-schedule/">BMW's previously leaked roster of 2009 reveals</a>, the 5-Series -based hatchback has been approved. Called "one of the bravest designs ever signed off by BMW," it is BMW's take on everything-all-the-time: a flexible, luxury GT. <br /><br />Although it is being referred to as a 5-Series family member, the car is actually expected to arrive on the same platform as the 7 Series. As such, the PAS is coming off as the ultimate tweener car: longer than a 5-Series sedan, yet shorter than a 7-Series; taller than a 5-Series, yet shorter than an X6. Cost is expected to straddle the gap, too: it should cost more than a 5 Series but less than a 7-Series. One description offered was "more of a 'tall 7-Series hatchback than a low-rise X6."<br /><br />At the very front, the PAS is said to take cues from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/spy-shots-are-reports-of-the-bmw-cs-demise-exaggerated/">CS Concept</a>. That nose treatment flows into a sedan-like lower body topped by an X6 greenhouse, rear hatch, and rear end treatment. Interior design cues will come from the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/13/officially-official-2010-bmw-z4/">Z4</a>, and a roomy, semi-raised cabin is promised. Possible engines for the car in Europe include the 3.0-liter turbo diesel, while a 3.0-liter gas could would come to the States.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle.aspx?AR=236712">Autocar</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/31/report-bmw-green-lights-5-series-progressive-activity-sedan/">Report: BMW finally green-lights 5-Series "Progressive Activity Sedan"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 31 Dec 2008 09:59:00 EST. As expected, it looks like a BMW nose, complete with twin kidney grille, wide lower intake, and a spot for the Roundel. The new 5er is likely to share a resemblance with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/13/officially-official-2010-bmw-z4/">upcoming Z4 rework</a>, meaning the standard practice of evolving the established style will continue unabated. We'll wait to pass final judgement until we see the nose attached to the rest of the sheetmetal, but the 5 may not tiptoe as near the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/23/bmw-announces-pricing-for-2009-7-series-raises-prices-on-everyt/">2009 7 series'</a> new duds as first thought, though the headlamps may be similar. It seems that BMW's going conservative after taking flak over its design direction. <br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.bmwblog.com/2008/12/28/2010-bmw-5-series-bumper-design-leaked/">BMWBlog</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/front-end-of-2010-bmw-5-series-leaked/">Front end of 2010 BMW 5 Series leaked</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 29 Dec 2008 14:31:00 EST. <br />BMW's M5 is understated enough to fly under the radar of the general public, but those in the know, familiar with its capabilities and the legacy it carries, grow silent with reverence if you pull up to them at the gas pump. Who can resist a vehicle that can stop conversations mid-sentence, and accelerates strongly enough to extinguish candles on the next block? We certainly couldn't, and thus began our week with the mighty M5.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/">Review: BMW M5</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/01_garage_2008_m5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/04_garage_2008_m5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/02_garage_2008_m5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/03_garage_2008_m5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5-1/low/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/12/05_garage_2008_m5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong><small>Photos copyright (C)2008 Dan Roth / Weblogs, Inc.</small></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Review: 2008 BMW M5</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5/">Review: 2008 BMW M5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 16 Dec 2008 12:28:00 EST. Spy photographers have managed to snap off <a href="http://blogs.thecarconnection.com/blogs/marty_blog/2011/2011-bmw-5-series-spied/">a few shots</a> of the upcoming sedan, and although it is still heavily camouflaged, some of us are already beginning to appreciate the end of the 'flame surfacing' that defined the propeller-brand's last generation of products. Instantly <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/18/spy-shots-2010-bmw-5-series-gets-new-nostrils/">noticeable</a> are the huge double-kidney grilles up front, which appear to mimic those introduced on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/19/shanghai-showstopper-bmw-cs-concept/">Concept CS sedan</a> and featured on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-bmw-7-series-3/901923/">the new 7</a>. Reports indicate that the 5 Series will add a fastback coupe similar in concept to the X6 to go along with the expected sedan and wagon. <br /><br />The interior shots show the newly-revised iDrive system with its enlarged display. BMW still plans to cover its center-mounted navigation screen with a gigantic domed hood, and the joystick-style gear lever used in some of its current models also returns, but the iDrive controller appears to be relocated to a more natural spot forward on the console.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://blogs.thecarconnection.com/blogs/marty_blog/2011/2011-bmw-5-series-spied/">The Car Connection</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/05/spy-shots-2011-bmw-5-series/">Spy Shots: 2011 BMW 5 Series</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 05 Jul 2008 16:31:00 EST. Just ask GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz. With his company supposedly claiming 13 spots on <a href="http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/consumersmostwanted/2007/index.html">Edmund's Consumers' Most Wanted</a> list, Lutz just had to <a href="http://fastlane.gmblogs.com/archives/cars_trucks/">brag a bit</a> on the corporate blog before the winners were made public.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/consumersmostwanted/2007/index.html"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="0" align="right" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/cmwlogo_128x35.jpg" /></a>And he should brag. Most other car of the year awards are chosen by us automotive writers who usually prefer horsepower over hip room. As the name implies, Edmund's CMW awards are chosen by the car-buying public. And despite not voting with their wallets, the car-buying public who visits Edmund's really like their GMs.<br /><br />The GMC Acadia got Most Significant vehicle of the year, beating out Honda's Fit, the Toyota Camry Hybrid, the Ford Edge and the Toyota Tundra.<br /><br />Click through to see Edmund's press release as well as the other category winners.<br /><br />[Source: Edmunds, GM FastLane Blog]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/04/lutz-lets-a-bit-of-edmunds-survey-slip-gm-takes-13-first-place/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Lutz lets a bit of Edmunds survey slip, GM takes 13 first place picks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/04/lutz-lets-a-bit-of-edmunds-survey-slip-gm-takes-13-first-place/">Lutz lets a bit of Edmunds survey slip, GM takes 13 first place picks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 04 May 2007 09:24:00 EST.
