While the Corvette Stingray Concept (a.k.a. Autobot Sideswipe) introduced at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this month sports heritage-inspired cues, its futuristic styling could also hint at the design of the next-generation model. GM made no comment on whether any of the concept would find make its way into the C7 Corvette, but there will doubtless be plenty of people willing to speculate. The gang at BadBoyVettes.com have taken it one step further and have come up with what the C7.R would look like if the Stingray went to production as-is. Using one of our live shots from the show, they've added the Corvette Racing livery, complete with the "Jake" skull mascot featured prominently on the hood. We think they did a good job, which is to be expected, since BBV helped put together the design schemes for the actual C6.R racers. In full race livery, the Stingray looks like it'd be equally adept at chasing down Gulf-liveried Aston Martins or battling giant evil robots. After all, Jake plays no favorites; he's an equal-opportunity intimidator.

[Source: BadBoyVettes.com]
Rendered Speculation: Corvette Stingray C7.R originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 21 Feb 2009 09:02:00 EST. It can convey speed yet spur people to make cautious moves. After all, Wasps are yellow and black, and if you're not careful, you'll regret denying them deference. Bad Boy Vettes has been delivering stings on the racetrack with its C6R, and the car gets a revised livery for 2008. The main color is Velocity Yellow, with lots of BadBoy Black accents. A blacked out tail panel returns, reprising the BlackTail descriptor, and there's a new "scrape stripe" based on the teeth of mascot skull Jake. The headlights also get a blackout treatment; all the better for intimidating the competition. Obsidian also graces the rockers, and it shouldn't be hard to spot the new C6Rs with this color scheme as they compete wheel-to-blacked-out-wheel in the upcoming ALMS season.

[Source: Bad Boy Vettes]
New livery for Corvette Racing C6R revealed originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 22 Feb 2008 07:01:00 EST. Standard-issue Z06es don't wear hood camo, nor do they rock the serious power dome clearly hiding beneath it in the photo above. Let's go into 100% speculation mode here for a moment:

BBV follows the C6.Rs from race to race.

The C6.Rs are in Monterey for the ALMS season-ender at Laguna Seca.

The photo above is likely the ZR1, and hence was also probably taken at Monterey.

The Velocity Yellow finish on the depicted car matches the C6.Rs base color.

We're going to go out on a limb and guess that GM's going to have the disguised ZR1 at the race.

Seriously, why not? Nissan generated mountains of buzz by trotting the masked GT-R out at places like Goodwood ahead of its reveal. Doing so with the ZR1 at an event where Corvette Racing is one of the major draws is a good way to get Corvette fans energized. Sure, we could be 100% wrong, but why else would there be a prettied-up, camouflaged car in a color that ties into the race team (and that hasn't been snapped by spy photogs yet, as far as we know) at Monterey?

Well, probably at Monterey. BadBoyVettes is such a tease. We'll have to see what happens over the weekend.

[Source: BadBoyVettes.com]

Photo Copyright (C)2007 BadBoyVettes.com
Is the Corvette ZR1 in Monterey this weekend? originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 19 Oct 2007 10:02:00 EST.
We have been tracking the progress of Bad Boy Vette's new livery for the C6R in its final race of the ALMS season with great anticipation. The finished product was finally revealed last night at a pre-race party in Monterey hosted by BBV. The new graphics look downright menacing, with the "Take No Prisoners" skull featured prominently on the hood and sides. A handful of photos have been posted on the web site, and hopefully more are to come. Both C6Rs will hit the track at Laguna Seca today for practice sessions, and they can be seen live on Speed TV on Saturday, October 20 at 2:30pm PDT. Now if only there were some other GT1 contenders to scare off...

Yesterday, BBV shot us a few pics of the #4 car in progress, and no surprise -- we like what we see. The final product will be unveiled at a big shindig on Wednesday, and when the cars ultimately take to the track, they'll look as every bit as menacing as they sound. Take BadBoyVettes.com, for example. Dedicated to covering and rooting for Corvette Racing, this band of supporters has already achieved a great deal. The Bad Boy Vettes skull logo serves as Corvette Racing's unofficial mascot, and it has adorned the race cars' b-pillars since the 2005 24 Hours of Le Mans. That in itself is cool beyond description, but it's nothing compared to what the BBV crew got Corvette Racing to agree to for the final round of the ALMS at Laguna Seca the weekend of October 20.

Bad Boy Vettes has convinced Corvette Racing to let it design the race livery for the pair of C6.Rs that weekend. The #4 car will be revealed at a party on October 17th, and in the image above, you can catch a glimpse of the paint scheme under the spray cans. As if the C6.Rs weren't badass enough to begin with, now they're going to be adorned with giant skulls. Evil FTW!

Conversely, at Autoblog Decentralized World Headquarters, we have had no say whatsoever in the paint scheme of the LeMons entry Damon's preparing.

[Source: Bad Boy Vettes]
Break out the Krylon: Bad Boy Vettes designing C6.R livery for season-ender at Laguna Seca originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 10 Oct 2007 15:57:00 EST. The fellas at Bad Boy Vettes sure know how to give Le Mans a "YOU ARE THERE" feeling for those of us not fortunate enough to be jetting overseas for the annual 24-hour showdown.

BBV, calling in-car cameras "passe," taped their trusty Canon PowerShot digicam to the hood of one of the yellow C6.Rs as it lapped the circuit Wednesday with Ron Fellows behind the wheel. In addition to being great footage, the roar of the race-spec 7.0-liter V8 is captured in all its sonic glory. Click here to watch (and hear) it for yourselves. If you'll excuse us, we have to go recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing "God Bless America" right now...

[Source: Bad Boy Vettes]
Bad Boy Vettes put you on the hood of the C6.R at Le Mans originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 14 Jun 2007 09:56:00 EST.
