BF Goodrich SCORE Baja 1000

There are 23 drivers on Team BFGoodrich, but only six of them will get to pilot the team buggy in the SCORE Baja 1000. Two of the six will be automatically entered after being crowned champions at the SCCA National Runoffs. The other four, well, they'll be relying on you: BFG is letting fans vote for drivers to fill the other seats.

Set up almost like a Race of Champions gathering, there are plenty of drivers on the list that you'll know, many of whom aren't specialists in the trials of Baja like Samuel Hubinette and Kevin King. Then there are stalwarts like Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles veteran Emily Miller and Baja hand Rod Hall. For those not headed to Baja, there's a chance to head to Skip Barber Racing School - but that also depends on a snap click of your fingers.

You can head to BFG's Facebook page to place your vote. If your driver gets in, you might get a shoutout if you're lucky, but we wouldn't expect a share of the winnings. Follow the jump for a presser with all the details.

At the 15th ESPN Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado yesterday, BF Goodrich announced a multi-year partnership with snowboarding Jedi Shaun White: the 130-year-old tire company would teach the Olympic gold medalist how to drive. Not just get behind a wheel and use a turn signal, but, you know, really drive. Before a day spent with a few drivers from Team BFG, White had never driven a stickshift before - his Lamborghini Murcielago has E-Gear and his 1966 Mustang is an automatic - and readily admits "I'm a terrible driver." Autoblog was there to ask BFG and White what's it all about, and more importantly, who's going to replace Samuel Hubinette's gearbox?

Pro motor sports may draw immense crowds, but on the boob tube, the football is king. That could be the reason Team Mopar and BFGoodrich utilized the pigskin in its latest TV ad showcasing controlled drifting. Hit the jump to see Samuel Hubinette pilot the Mopar drift Charger to and through a tee'd-up football as the rear quarter panel plays placekicker. Though not as cool as the commercial that shows Hubinette sliding the Charger through an aircraft hanger, it's definitely worth a look.

Charger Drift CarThe spot's months old, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. It shows Team Mopar's Samuel Hubinette piloting the Charger drift car into, through, and out of an airplane hangar. What's particularly cool is that you can follow the tire marks on the ground from previous takes and/or practice runs as the car does its thing. The superscript at the bottom of the screen as it begins reads "Closed Course. Professional Driver. Do Not Attempt."

Professional driver, indeed. Hubinette's nasty. Follow the jump for the spot. SPEED TV seems to still air it pretty regularly, too.
