The 2011 IntelliChoice and AutoPacific Motorist Choice Awards have been announced, and the Blue Oval took home top honors with Ford and Lincoln vehicles winning in six categories. Last year, Toyota and Lexus grabbed the top nod by securing nine wins over various classes. For 2011, that number fell to five.

The annual survey of over 32,000 consumers gauges public interest in new car buying, and the 2009 survey shows that a lot fewer people are looking for a new car these days.

AddToyota Prius is the top-rated Image Compact Car Ideal Vehicle

AutoPacific announced its 2006 Ideal Vehicle Awards yesterday and the Toyota Prius was among the winners. AutoPacific, an automotive research and consulting firm had owners rate their 2006 model year cars and trucks by how closely they come to the owner's ideal vehicle. The cars or trucks that owners would change the least are the most ideal, the company said in a press release.
