<br />
Can't wait for <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bentley">Bentley</a> to start producing the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/exp+9+f">EXP 9 F</a>? Sold on the idea but not on the execution? <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/armortech">Armortech</a> may be able to help you out.<br />
<br />
They've teamed up with Atelier Valdeig to turn the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/">Audi</a> Q7 into something of a Bentley SUV, only without the Bentley badge. Called the Tresor (from the French word for "treasure"), the custom <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a> igets fully restyled, and boasts an interior that has been (or will be, from the look of the cabin renderings) retrofitted to Bentley-like levels of opulence.<br />
<br />
The customizers can base their modifications on any version of the Q7, all the way up to the 493-horsepower V12 turbodiesel, and can even stretch the wheelbase or armor it - a particularly sought-after feature in markets where security is a luxury. The full press release is posted below, and you can check out the renderings in the photo gallery for a closer look.<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/20/armortech-and-atelier-valdeig-outfit-the-audi-q7-to-bentley-stan/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Armortech and Atelier Valdeig outfit Audi Q7 to Bentley standards</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/20/armortech-and-atelier-valdeig-outfit-the-audi-q7-to-bentley-stan/">Armortech and Atelier Valdeig outfit Audi Q7 to Bentley standards</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sun, 20 May 2012 14:03:00 EST. <br />
Speaking at <a href="http://autoblog.com/audi">Audi</a>'s annual press conference earlier today, Rubert Stadler, the automaker's chairman, commented on plans to expand the e-tron line beyond the <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/audi-r8-e-tron">R8</a> model due next year.<br />
<br />
The push will reportedly include plug-in hybrid versions of both the next-generation <a href="http://autoblog.com/audi/a4">A4</a> and <a href="http://autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a>, with the <a href="http://autoblog.com/audi/a3">2014 Audi A3</a> being the first model out of the gate with a plug-in option.<br />
<br />
Another report indicates that the same race technology being pioneered by the recently unveiled <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/2012/02/29/audi-unleashes-hybrid-awd-powertrain-on-le-mans-with-new-r18-e/">R18 e-tron quattro hybrid LeMans prototype</a> will be fitted to the B9 A4, with a pair of electric motors driving the rear wheels (versus the front, on the racer) because of the A4's FWD architecture.<br />
<br />
Stadler went on to say that by 2020, Audi will have an e-tron version of each vehicle it offers in every segment, which in all likelihood will be either a pure electric model or some form of hybrid.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2012/03/01/next-audi-a4-q7-to-have-e-tron-quattro-option/">Next Audi A4, Q7 to have e-tron Quattro option</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 01 Mar 2012 19:01:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi">Audi</a> has set some pretty aggressive weight-cutting targets for its future line, according to <em>Car and Driver</em>. The German manufacturer has said that each of its model successors will be lighter than their current iterations thanks to a greater use of aluminum in their body structures. That includes the big boy <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a> crossover, which, according to global marketing head-honcho Peter Schwarzenbauer, may shed as much as 770 pounds before the next generation gets its unveiling. That's an eye-widening figure, to be sure, as it marks a 14 percent cut from the curb weight of the current car.<br />
<br />
Lighter weight invariably translates to better fuel economy, better handling and shorter stopping distances - all things that can paint a grin on our faces. Will this greater focus on lightweight materials translate into steeper price tags? It's hard to tell, but traditional logic suggests it will. We'll just have to wait for the next-generation Q7 to debut before we can say for certain.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/20/next-audi-q7-to-go-on-radical-diet-lose-770-pounds/">Next Audi Q7 to go on radical diet, lose 770 pounds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 20 Sep 2011 16:15:00 EST. <br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/">Audi</a> is continuing to pour cash into the development of its next generation crossovers, and in addition to a range of new high-riding models, the next <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q5/">Q5</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7/">Q7</a> are set to go on a serious diet.<br />
<br />
According to <em>Automobile</em>, the redesigned Q5 will drop around 220 pounds from its curb weight, while the larger Q7 will reportedly shed some 650 pounds thanks to a new aluminum body.<br />
<br />
The aforementioned Q5 will share a platform with the forthcoming <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/PorscheCajun/">Porsche Cajun</a> when it arrives in 2016 and will spawn two new models: the Q4 and Q6.<br />
<br />
The Q6 will supposedly take on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/x6/">BMW X6</a>, with a steeply raked windshield and low-slung hatch, but will maximize cargo and rear passenger space, while making ingress and egress easier.<br />
<br />
More interestingly, <em>Automobile</em> says that the Q4 could take one of three shapes: a hardened off-roader, a more luxurious <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/acura/zdx/">Acura ZDX</a> competitor or a high-performance crossover. Regardless, power for both models will come from a new turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, boosting efficiency over the current supercharged six by up to 20 percent. A plug-in hybrid model is also in the cards, mating the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a 100-horsepower electric motor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/11/next-audi-q7-to-shed-650-pounds/">Next Audi Q7 to shed 650 pounds?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 11 Aug 2011 15:31:00 EST. <br />
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but Earth knows no competition greater than sibling rivalry. With nine marques under the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/volkswagen">Volkswagen</a> Group umbrella, things can get pretty competitive between the brands, especially as platforms and technologies are integrated and subsidiaries chosen to develop them. But then <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/porsche">Porsche</a> entered the fray as the 10th brand and things got that much more heated.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/12/08/report-porsche-will-develop-sporty-vws-not-audi/">Reports</a> recently emerged that Porsche was chosen over <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi</a> to develop the platforms that would underpin sportscars for the entire group as well as luxury sedans, leaving Ingolstadt undoubtedly reeling from the defeat. But now follow-up reports indicate that Audi will, in turn, be charged with developing the next generation of sport-utility vehicles for the entire group, the next Porsche Cayenne included.<br />
<br />
The program will reportedly center around a common modular platform that will underpin the next-generation <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/volkswagen/touareg">Touareg</a>, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/porsche/cayenne">Cayenne</a>, but also extends to the development of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q5">Q5</a>-based Porsche Cajun. While the latter is currently in the works, both the Touareg and Cayenne were recently replaced, so their subsequent replacements would still be years off.<br />
<br />
The move may seem a little odd considering that Volkswagen and Porsche have both been making SUVs for longer than Audi has its Q7, but Audi has been in the all-wheel drive game for longer than either. The decision was reportedly unanimous among the different divisions, though Porsche was quick to point out that final development of its SUVs will be carried out by Porsche to ensure its vehicles drive as their customers would expect.<br />

<br />
<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes</a> has been doing it for years with their <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/amg">AMG</a> sport-utes. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/bmw">BMW</a> finally caved with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/x5+m">X5 M</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/bmw/x6+m">X6 M</a>. Even <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/porsche">Porsche</a>'s in the game with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/porsche/cayenne">Cayenne</a> Turbo and anticipated <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/13/http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/12///">upcoming Cajun</a>. But <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi</a>'s not about to follow suit, according to reports from across the pond.<br />
<br />
Our (unrelated) Italian counterparts claim that Audi's technical chief Stephan Reil has ruled out the possibility of ever slapping an RS badge on any of its SUVs or crossovers. Audi's high-riding range currently includes the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q5">Q5</a> and is soon to be joined by a smaller <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/22/audi-confirms-q3-production-in-spain-but-decision-on-u-s-pr/">Q3</a>. The top of the line Q7 is available with a twin-turbo V12 diesel churning out a massive 500 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, but a big engine, says Audi, does not an RS make.<br />
<br />
Of course the difference may come down to badging. S variants remain a possibility, but though they may have the engines and even the suspension and other ingredients, Audi insists that the RS badge is to remain exclusively for high-performance models, and that a big lumbering crossover - no matter how quickly it's capable of covering all types of terrain - doesn't fit the mold. <br />

<br />
Drop the term "Big Benz" in conversation and most people assume you're talking about the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/mercedes-benz/s-class">Mercedes-Benz S-Class</a>. While the full-size flagship sedan has - deservedly - earned that moniker over the years, when it comes to sheer size and volume, the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gl-class">GL-Class</a> is truly Benz' behemoth. But don't take that as a negative. The GL350 Bluetec, the automaker's diesel-powered variant of its seven-passenger full-size sport utility vehicle, has plenty going for it. Under the hood is a torque-laden, fuel-efficient diesel, and after a week pulling family duty, we emerged impressed. Find out why after the jump.<br />

<br />
The <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/porsche/cayenne">Porsche Cayenne</a> wears many hats. It masquerades as both the automaker's entry-level vehicle and as its flagship turbocharged SUV. Broad-shouldered in stature, one variant can blast to 60 mph in less than five seconds and top 170 mph, while another may be propelled quietly under the emissions-free power of electricity. Regardless of where they rank in the hierarchy, multi-talented Cayenne models are capable of traversing deep streams, towing 7,700-pound trailers and carrying five passengers and their luggage into the hands of waiting luxury hotel valets.<br />
<br />
The six-cylinder Porsche Cayenne is hardly the automaker's crown jewel, but it's frequently one of the best-selling models in the lineup. Following on the heels of its more powerful siblings, the entry-level SUV can't hide behind its engine displacement - it must prove itself through luxury, improved performance, fuel efficiency and value.<br />
<br />
We just spent a couple days driving the all-new Cayenne in Germany, and unlike <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/28/2011-porsche-cayenne-turbo-first-drive/">two months ago</a>, when we put the flagship Cayenne Turbo and the eight-cylinder Cayenne S to the test at the beautiful circuit and off-road course at Alabama's Barber Motorsports Park, the European venue gave us the opportunity to drive the entry-level Cayenne in crowded city streets and on the wide-open Autobahn. What's under the hood of the six-cylinder Cayenne, and why is it unique? How does it drive compared to its eight-cylinder siblings? Most importantly, how does it compare to its competition? Find out after the jump.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Audi Q7 with Wave Field sound system - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br />
Right now, if you happen to find yourself in a honkin' German SUV and you want a great sound system, you're in luck. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a> will be happy to supply you with a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/q7">Q7</a> that boasts a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/13/bando-put-the-bang-in-mercedes-amg/">Bang &amp; Olufsen</a> sound system with a dizzying 14 speakers, but that's child's play compared to what the Four-Rings are up to with the Institute for Digital Media Technology. The two have partnered to create a special Q7 prototype with 62 speakers, including five woofers and five tweeters. This isn't some Pimp My Ride exercise, though. Each one of those speakers is individually driven by an advanced computer to create a universal audio sweet spot in the cabin.<br />
<br />
IDMT calls the technology wave field synthesis, and the system can individually delay speaker impulses to keep the sound in check. It's less of a cacophony and more of personalized stereo experience no matter where the listener is sitting inside the vehicle.<br />
<br />
The wave field tech has been applied to the Linden Lichtspiele Cinema with an epic 192-speaker system. The only downside is that neither movie companies nor the recording industry are creating material with wave field encoding. <br />

<br />
If there's to be a singular automotive theme guiding us into this second decade of the 21st century, it's downsizing. If not in dimensions, then in displacement. Automakers, forced to adhere to higher government-mandated fuel economy standards and lower CO2 emissions, are beginning to collectively reduce engine size while attempting to maintain the thrust consumers demand.<br />
<br />
The newest posterchild for this movement comes in an unlikely wrapper: the 2011 <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/q7">Audi Q7</a>. Packing the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/07/2011-audi-q7-gets-three-new-v6s-eight-speed-transmission-in-ger/">same supercharged 3.0-liter V6</a> found in the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/s4">S4</a> sports sedan, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/audi/">Audi</a> bids adieu (or is that <em>Auf Wiedersehen</em>?) to the 3.6-liter V6 and 4.2-liter V8 for the 2011 model year and brings with it the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/a8">2011 A8's</a> eight-speed automatic transmission. We tackled the congested highways and byways in and around Ingolstadt to see if the revised Q7 has the goods to placate both bureaucrats and buyers, while taking a deeper look into Audi's new powertrain strategy. Click through to the jump to see if we can make sense of it all.<br />

<br />
The all-new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/a8">A8</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/07/2011-audi-q7-gets-three-new-v6s-eight-speed-transmission-in-ger/">updated Q7</a> won't be the only vehicles in <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/audi">Audi's</a> line-up to benefit from the automaker's new eight-speed gearbox. According to dealer order guides released for the 2011 model year, the octo-cog-swapper is set to proliferate throughout the Audi line-up in the next year, with the automaker aiming for around 70% of it U.S. sales volume to come equipped with the new gearbox.<br />
<br />
For the 2011 model year, the <a href="http://autoblog.com/audi/a4">A4</a> 2.0 TFSI quattro sedan and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/01/2009-audi-a4-sedan-and-wagon-priced/">Avant</a> will come packing the eight-speed tranny, along with the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/a5">A5</a> 2.0 TFSI quattro coupe and cabriolet (the manual six-speed will only be available on the coupe). In addition, the revised Q7, with its new high- and low-output 3.0-liter supercharged V6s (cribbed from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/s4">S4</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/audi/a6">A6</a>), will replace the 3.6-liter V6 and 4.2-liter V8 for the 2011 model year. Both engines, along with the new 3.0-liter TDI, will come equipped with the eight-speed auto.<br />
<br />
Finally, Audi quietly revealed the 2.0 TFSI inline-four-equipped Q5 at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/new-york-auto-show/">New York Auto Show</a>, and part of the new package will also include the eight-speed 'box.<br />
<br />
Sales of the eight-speed automatic-equipped models will begin this fall, each delivering improved fuel economy, quicker downshifts and, thanks to its compact packaging, no additional weight gain over the standard six-speed tiptronic.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><small>2010 Lincoln MKT - click above for high-res image gallery</small></em></strong></div>
<br />
In a nutshell, the problem with <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/lincoln">Lincoln</a> is that on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/SHO/">Taurus SHO</a> launch, Ford brought along an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/a6">Audi A6 4.2</a> for comparison's sake. Says one Lincoln dealer, "It's hard to sell a $48,000 MKS when the Ford guy down the street has a Taurus with the same features for $10,000 less." Put another way, despite the polarizing new sheetmetal, it's still obvious to consumers that the MKZ is a Fusion, the MKS is a Taurus, the MKX is an Edge and the MKT is the Flex.<br />
<br />
"I have more dedicated Lincoln-Mercury employees than Ford Motor Co. does. They don't have any executives who wake up every day thinking about these brands." Says Lincoln/Mercury dealer owner Chris Lemley to <em>The Detroit News</em> in what might just be the "<em>ouch!</em>" comment of the year. <br />
<br />
Part of the problem is without question the not-so-great state of the economy, with luxury sales tanking by nearly 25 percent in 2009. Still, with Lincolns priced lower than the competition, one might think they'd be selling better. For instance, the Lincoln MKT (priced at $49,995 with all the fixins) matches up quite well with the much more expensive Audi Q7 ($61,825). However, "If people were cross-shopping Audi and Lincoln, that would be great," said one analyst. "Audi buyers are shopping for a style statement. They're not even looking at Lincoln. Lincoln still has not gotten back up to first-tier luxury." Hence all that dealer fury.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Audi A3 1.6 TDI - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em></div>
<br /> Audi has kicked off its latest efficiency marathon in northern Norway this week with a fleet of A3, A4, A5, Q7 and TT models to demonstrate what they can do in the real world. Leading the pack in terms of minimal fuel consumption is the new A3 1.6 TDI. On the road in Norway in the opening stage, the drivers managed to squeeze out an astounding 78.4 mpg average from the 1.6-liter diesel engine. Next up was the A4 2.0 TDI e sedan, which went an average of 60.3 miles on every gallon (U.S.) of diesel.<br /> <br /> In addition to the high efficiency models, Audi also opted to include several high performance models this time around to show that even they can get very good fuel efficiency when driven sedately. The 340-horsepower TT-RS averaged 32.22 mpg, while the utterly absurd <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/full/#24">Q7 V12 TDI</a> with its 500 horsepower diesel V12 managed a startling 27.03 mpg. That's nearly as good as what we achieved with the V6-powered Q7 TDI on last year's <a href="http://audimileagemarathon.com/">U.S. Mileage Marathon</a>, so it's not too shabby for a big SUV that would probably pull a house off of its foundation<br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b">Audi Efficiency Marathon A to B</a></strong></p><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ab090122_medium_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ab090115_medium_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ab090111_medium_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ab090079_medium_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-efficiency-marathon-a-to-b/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblog.com/media/2009/09/ab090031_medium_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Audi]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/25/audi-a3-1-6-tdi-shines-during-opening-stages-of-efficiency-chall/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Audi A3 1.6 TDI shines during opening stages of efficiency challenge, scores 78.4 mpg (U.S.)!</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/25/audi-a3-1-6-tdi-shines-during-opening-stages-of-efficiency-chall/">Audi A3 1.6 TDI shines during opening stages of efficiency challenge, scores 78.4 mpg (U.S.)!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 25 Sep 2009 18:29:00 EST. <br />
Time to fire up the TiVo. Tomorrow night, the <em>Science Channel</em> will debut a new episode of "How It's Made" that features the Audi TDI clean diesel engine range. What's the big deal, haven't diesels been around since the death of the dinosaurs? Well, sorta. While they still share the same basic architecture that Rudolph Diesel invented all those years ago, today's modern diesel powerplants are a far cry from the old smoke belching, shake-themselves-to-pieces lumps of yore.<br />
<br />
The actual engine featured in the segment will be Audi's 3.0-liter TDI V6, which puts out 225 horsepower and a whopping 406 lb-ft of torque in the engine bay of the 2009 Q7 TDI while still maintaining class-leading fuel efficiency. Soon the German automaker will introduce its second clean diesel-powered vehicle here in the States in the form of the 2010 A3 TDI, which you can <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/tag/audia3tdi">read about here</a>.<br />
<br />
Anyone interested in what goes into building a modern diesel powerplant will want to tune in to the <em>Science Channel</em> at 9pm (Eastern and Pacific). Click past the jump for the press release.<br />
<br />
NOTE: BMW North America contacted us to correct the statement that the Audi Q7 TDI offers class-leading fuel efficiency. With an EPA mpg rating of 17 city/25 highway, the Q7 TDI is bested by the BMW X5 xDrive35d at 19 city/26 highway. The BMW's 3.0-liter diesel is also more powerful with 265 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque. <br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><small style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">2010 Audi Q7 - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></div>
<br /> Audi's 2010 Q7 rolls into showrooms with a base MSRP of $46,900 (all prices exclude the $825 destination charge). That entry-level amount will put the standard Q7 3.6 Quattro (with its 280-horsepower V6) in your driveway. If you want to bump up to the flagship, the Q7 4.2 Quattro (350-horsepower V8) will set you back at least $61,000. Lastly, those interested in Audi's diesel SUV and its 17/25 EPA ratings will find the Q7 TDI Quattro (225-horsepower V6 with a boat-load of torque) starting at $50,900.<br /> <br /> All 2010 Q7 models boast standard all-wheel drive and refreshed exteriors with the brand's signature LED lighting used in the daytime running lights, turn signals (optional), and taillights. Interior upgrades include available ventilated front seats, upgraded interior ambient lighting and several cosmetic improvements within the cabin. Most appreciated will be the third-generation MMI infotainment system with its 3D map powered by an automotive-grade NVIDIA[TM] chip for graphics processing. According to Audi, the system's voice-based controls will respond to such command as "I'm hungry," "I need gas" and "I need coffee" and point the driver to the closest options. Check the new Q7 out in the gallery below and in the full press release after the jump. <br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7">2010 Audi Q7</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090002-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090006-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090040-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090007-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090041-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> [Source: Audi]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/26/audi-slaps-monroney-on-updated-2010-q7/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Audi slaps Monroney on updated 2010 Q7</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/26/audi-slaps-monroney-on-updated-2010-q7/">Audi slaps Monroney on updated 2010 Q7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 26 Aug 2009 17:40:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Sport Wheels grilles for Audis -- Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Sport Wheels presents its latest aftermarket accessory as "an interesting alternative to the standard grille." In this case, we can give the company a gold star for truth in advertising. The range of offerings spans the Audi model line from A3 (pictured) to Q7, with only difference being the addition of vertical elements in vehicles with larger grilles. Well, that and an increased resemblance to animals described by the word "baleen."<br /><br />The grilles start at &euro;530 ($756 U.S.) and go up to &euro;630 ($899 U.S.), and then you can add another &euro;250 ($357 U.S.) for mounting if you don't want to touch the grille yourself. If, for some reason, you want the grille to match your car's finish, that'll be another &euro;150 ($214 U.S.). Which is a lot of money to make your car look like this, but hey, it's your money.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles">Sport Wheels Audi Grilles</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/05_sw_audi_grille_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/07_sw_audi_grille_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/09_sw_audi_grille_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/11_sw_audi_grille_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sport-wheels-audi-grilles/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/13_sw_audi_grille_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.sport-wheels.de/html/angebote.php">Sport Wheels</a> (<a href="http://74.125.19.132/translate_c?hl=en&amp;sl=auto&amp;tl=en&amp;u=http://www.sport-wheels.de/html/angebote.php&amp;rurl=translate.google.com&amp;usg=ALkJrhivRxFO2ipxyyKSB4CjeDDsE-4iuw">translated</a>)]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/03/sport-wheels-offers-unfortunate-rhinoplasty-for-your-audi/">Sport Wheels offers unfortunate rhinoplasty for your Audi</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 03 Aug 2009 14:41:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>Audi Q7 V12 TDI - </small></strong></em><em><strong><small>Click above for a high res gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Last year, Audi announced the most insane version of its Q7 SUV yet in the form of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/01/geneva-2008-here-comes-the-audi-q7-v12-tdi/">Q7 V12 TDI</a>. The V12 is an all-new diesel engine that, for now at least, only has a home in the Q7, but at some future date, it may appear in some other VW group products (think: Bentley). The V12 produces 500 hp and a ridiculous 758 lb-ft of torque, enough to get the 2.5-ton SUV to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds. <br /><br />While Audi has said it has no plans to bring the V12 Q7 TDI to America, <em>Top Gear</em> mouthpiece Jeremy Clarkson got to try one out and came away with mixed feelings. Like many people, Clarkson is no fan of the Q7's looks and thinks the whole premise of the vehicle is ridiculous. On the other hand, brute force does have a way of twisting people's opinions and this big Audi proves to be no exception. <br /><br />Generally, any sporting motorcycle can leave a four-wheeled conveyance in the dust. Apparently, this Q7 is the exception, as Clarkson was supposedly able to keep pace with <em>Top Gear</em> co-host Richard Hammond on a Suzuki Hayabusa. Even with all this power, the V12 TDI is still rated at 21 mpg (U.S.) on the EU combined cycle. In Clarkson's own words, "Mad. Bonkers. Stupid. [...] It's crap. But it's brilliant too." Too bad they canceled the R8 with this engine. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro">2008 Audi Q7 V12 TDI quattro</a></strong></p><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2008/03/audi_q7_v12_tdi_27_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2008/03/audi_q7_v12_tdi_20_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2008/03/audi_q7_v12_tdi_18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2008/03/audi_q7_v12_tdi_21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://green.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-tdi-quattro/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2008/03/audi_q7_v12_tdi_19_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article6342920.ece?token=null&amp;offset=0&amp;page=1">The Times of London</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/26/clarkson-on-the-audi-q7-v12-tdi-its-crap-and-its-brilliant/">Clarkson on the Audi Q7 V12 TDI: It's crap and it's brilliant!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 26 May 2009 16:40:00 EST. <div align="center"><strong><em><small>2010 Audi Q7 - Click above for a high-res image gallery<br /></small></em></strong></div>
<br />Casual observers probably didn't notice it, but Audi has released a face-lifted version of its Q7 SUV. On the outside a lot hasn't changed, with the updates mostly focused on the lighting, tailgate and paint colors. The head-light clusters are the same shape but now get the LED eye-liner treatment that has spread throughout much of the Audi lineup. The front bumper has also been subtly reshaped as well, while the rear light clusters now feature full LED elements and the tailgate has been reshaped to accommodate license plates for all countries. <br /><br />Inside, the trim has been updated with more wood, but the big news is the third generation MMI navigation/entertainment/information system. The nav gets a 3D interface and joystick control for finding destinations. The Sirius satellite radio also provides traffic data now and accepts voice commands to find cash, food or gas, much like Ford's TravelLink system. Powertrains for the US pretty much carryover and include the new 3.0-liter TDI diesel. Over in Europe, the optional 4.2-liter TDI V8 is now up to 340 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The fuel consumption of the diesel V8 has been reduced with mileage on the European combined cycle going from 21.2 to 23.8 mpg (US). <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/04/07/in-the-autobloggreen-garage-audi-q7-4-2-tdi/">Unfortunately we can't get that engine over here</a>. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7">2010 Audi Q7</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090002-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090006-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090040-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090007-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-audi-q7/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/q7090041-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/14/officially-official-2010-audi-q7-facelift/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Officially Official: 2010 Audi Q7 facelift</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/14/officially-official-2010-audi-q7-facelift/">Officially Official: 2010 Audi Q7 facelift</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 14 Apr 2009 18:00:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>2011 Audi Q7 spy shots - Click above for a gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Cellphone cameras and the internet give pretty much anyone with a sharp eye the potential to be an automotive spy photographer. <br /><br />Fourtitude/Car Lounge member AutoUnion32 has posted some spy shots (originally taken by TheAudiGuy from <a href="http://www.quattroworld.com/">QuattroWorld</a>) of what looks to be Audi's refreshed Q7 wearing S-Line trim while cruising along in Atlanta traffic. The subtly-updated Q is expected in showrooms as a 2011 model. The look of the more aggressive front and rear fascias, as well as the quarry's large alloy wheels, are what lead us down the S-Line speculation path. There's talk of the 3.0-liter TFSI mill taking over base engine duties, but that'll likely occur after this refresh drops. <em>Thanks to tipster Teg!</em><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift">Audi Q7 facelift</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/q7_spy_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/q7_spy_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/q7_spy_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/q7_spy_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-q7-facelift/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/q7_spy_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=4315487">Fourtitude</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/27/spy-shots-revamped-audi-q7-snapped-in-atlanta/">Spy Shots: Revamped Audi Q7 snapped in Atlanta</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 27 Mar 2009 19:29:00 EST. <br />Ford has a major-league hit on its hands with the<a href="http://asdf"> </a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/17/in-the-autoblog-garage-2009-ford-flex-limited-w-video/">2009 Flex crossover</a> - with the media. Sadly, despite its varied and considerable charms, sales haven't met the Blue Oval's admittedly <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/11/ford-shoots-for-100-000-flex-sales-a-year/">lofty expectations</a>. Blame the recession, blame the marketing department, blame the Flex's divisive styling, <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/28/slow-ford-flex-sales-blamed-on/">blame what you will</a>, but Dearborn is plainly going to have to find more volume for its D4 platform. Enter the 2010 Lincoln MKT.<br /><br />It doesn't take more than a brief glance to realize that Ford's stylists have exacted much more than a quick nip/tuck on the rectilinear Flex en-route to minting this new Lincoln. But beyond the crossover's assertive looks, there is a host of new technology on offer inside and out that should help put the MKT on luxury crossover shopping lists. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/embargo-1-12-09-12-01-detroit-2009-lincoln-mkt-revealed/">Follow the jump</a> to learn more about the MKT and read Lincoln's official press release.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt">2010 Lincoln MKT</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/10lincolnmkt_12_hr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/2010-lincoln-mkt0001280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/2010-lincoln-mkt0011280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/10lincolnmkt_10_hr_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-lincoln-mkt/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/01/2010-lincoln-mkt0021280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/detroit-2009-lincoln-mkt-debuts-with-a-big-toothy-smile/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Detroit 2009: Lincoln MKT debuts with a big, toothy smile</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/12/detroit-2009-lincoln-mkt-debuts-with-a-big-toothy-smile/">Detroit 2009: Lincoln MKT debuts with a big, toothy smile</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 00:01:00 EST.
