Bonkers is a relative term, when you think about it. Case in point: the 9ff GT9. With 973 horsepower and a 409 km/h top speed - that's 254 mph, friends - this was already one bonkers supercar. And then 9ff comes along with the GT9-R, an even faster version with - wait for it - 1120 horsepower and a claimed 414 km/h (257 mph) top speed. That's enough to outgun the 412 km/h (256 mph) record set by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT to claim the top-speed crown. That's right: pending outside verification at least, this is the world's fastest car. On the way, it'll hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 and 300 (186 mph) in 14.9. Right, bonkers.

Although - like 9ff's tuner cars - the GT9-R is loosely based on a Porsche 911, it only bears what could barely be described as a passing resemblance. Just about the entire thing is built from scratch, with a 4.0-liter boxer six all but completely rebuilt.

Only twenty examples of the range-topping GT9-R will be offered, although the *ahem* lesser versions with 750 or 987 horsepower are also available, each built to order to the customer's specifications. We're just afraid to ask how much many euros that entails, especially when the existing GT9 went for half a million. Details in the press release after the jump and photos in the gallery below.

As we discovered earlier this month, the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo is one heck of a fast car. The quickest Porsche has ever produced, in fact. So it would take considerable moxie to try and improve on it. Fortunately, 9ff has such moxie, as demonstrated with the company's new Speed9.

We brought you initial info on the Speedster-inspired tuner car a few days ago, but 9ff has been kind enough to grace us with a few more details on its latest endeavor. Set to be unveiled this coming weekend at the Essen Motor Show - Germany's equivalent of SEMA - the 9ff Speed9 starts with the new 911 Turbo cabrio and updates with a series of performance and body mods to take it to the next level.

Improving on the 997.5's 3.8-liter direct injection twin-turbo boxer six, the 9ff pumps output up from 500 horsepower up to 650 ponies with a simple upgrade to the ECU and new air filter, exhaust and catalytic converter. The result? Try 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 3.3 seconds en route to a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph) - limited only by the speedster's slick open body-style. But those sleek looks and extra oomph will cost you: 239,000 euros - the equivalent of $360,000 in American greenbacks. That's two-and-a-half times the price of a stock 911 turbo cab, but if cost is no object, the Speed9 could be just your ticket.

If you love the spirit of SEMA but tend to lean towards more European tastes, Essen is the show for you. The annual aftermarket show in Germany always brings out an enticing crop of European tuner cars, and 9ff isn't about to let it go by without making its mark.

The Porsche tuner is hitting Essen with the Speed9, a slick speedster inspired by the legendary 356 (circa 1955) and based on the latest 997 Turbo cabrio. Naturally, 9ff started in the rear, boosting the 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat six from 473hp stock up to a whopping 650, all by tweaking the ECU and swapping out the air filter, exhaust and catalytic converter. The tuners have also fitted adjustable stabilizers front and rear with double springs at each corner, coupled with upgraded brakes.

There's no word yet on what effect the mods will have on performance, but you can't miss the body kit 9ff has developed. They've done away with the rear seats to give the cabrio a speedster-like profile, while fitting a new front air dam, side skirts and rear apron. No word on price either, but you can expect it to be commensurately expensive, with much of the range customizable to order.

9ff Porsche Panamera - Click above for high-res image gallery

For better or worse, the new Panamera promises to open doors to new markets for Porsche - and for Porsche tuners, for that matter. But 9ff isn't about to let Gemballa have all the fun. The tuning house responsible for the berserk GT9 supercar, with its Bugatti Veyron-rivalling capabilities, announced its Panamera tuning program even before Porsche unveiled the car, and has now revealed initial details and another round of renderings.

Predictably for power-hungry 9ff, the alphanumeric tuner starts with the Turbo model and upgrades in stages. The PT-55 gives the Panamera Turbo an ECU upgrade and new air filters to boost output up from 500 to 550 horsepower. The PT-60, as you might have guessed, offers 600 horsepower courtesy of a fresh exhaust with sport catalytic converters. Finally, the PT-65 packs (anybody? anybody?) 650 horsepower by fitting new turbos, as well as a full aero kit. 9ff says it will offer 22-inch three-piece wheels and a host of interior upgrades as well. Check out the renderings in the gallery below.

Gallery: 9ff Panamera

[Source: 4wheelsnews.com]
9ff reveals details and renderings of its custom Porsche Panamera originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 24 Aug 2009 11:28:00 EST.
Click above for a hi-res gallery of the 9ff Vantage GTR

9ff has established itself as a serious player in the pursuit of toppiling OEM's top-speed records, but the German tuner's range of modifications for Porsches spans the spectrum from mild to wild. Wild, in this case, includes the 9ff Vantage GTR. It's based on the Cayenne SUV and has nothing to do with the 911-rivalling Aston Martin, but the 9ff sport-ute packs a mighty punch. With a whopping 725hp on tap, the Vantage GTR leaves other modified Cayennes in its dust - make that a big cloud of dust - and straight into Gemballa territory, which is an insane place to spend any amount of time.

To match the power output, 9ff has decked out this Cayenne in Tumbler-worthy bodywork and sinister matte black finish, and is apparently even offering a revised front end to replace the stock model's angular headlights with round 911 units. See for yourself in the gallery below.

Gallery: 9ff Porsche Cayenne Vantage GTR

[Source: autoblog.nl via Motorpasion]
9ff hits the dusty trail with Cayenne Vantage GTR originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 31 Dec 2008 19:27:00 EST. These are the people that supertuner 9ff is targeting with its new program for the über-Porsche.

You can start off easy, with 9ff's new front bumper and spoiler. The lightweight carbon fiber unit increases downforce and helps optimize cooling. It'll run you € 7,980. Next up is the company's 19" wheel upgrade. A set of the lightwright, 3-piece, central-locking, aluminum-forged rims will set the buyer back € 14,480. Naturally, there's a suspension upgrade available, and the 9ff SUPERSPORT sport chassis adds another € 7,980 to the tally.

If you're not keeping track, the bumper, wheels and suspension add up to €30,440. The illustration above depicts what the GT will look like with the new nose and rolling stock.

Now, let's get to the serious go-fast stuff. There are two exhaust kits, each increases horsepower by an undisclosed amount, and the quad-pipe "supersport" version costs € 7,980. This brings us to the centerpiece of the tuning program. Two motor tuning packages are available. The lesser version costs over € 35,000 and nets an additional 80 horsepower. That's not the one to get.

The 9ff "Performance Kit 2" is a complete engine conversion package that adds a pair of turbochargers (!), new camshafts, new exhaust manifolds, a muffler upgrade, new catalytic converter, upgraded air filter, air hose, and air box, and ECU reprogramming. The price is steep -- € 95,800 -- but the result is an additional 300 horsepower.

What do you call a Carrera GT with 900+ HP? A super duper car? We're not sure either, but if you have a Carrera GT and an extra € 130,000 (approx. $165,000) to put into it, you can find out for yourself. If you do, please be sure to drop us a line and let us know if it's as fun as it sounds.

[Source: 9ff]
9ff Carrera GT tuning program good for 900+ HP originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 05 Oct 2006 18:01:00 EST.
